CHARLESTON, W.Va. – Two corporations jointly presented checks Monday to the Ronald McDonald House of Southern West Virginia to pay for an outdoor patio at the structure. Appalachian Power and West Virginia American Water Company donated $10,000 each to help with funding the project. The house was opened on Pennsylvania Avenue in October 2016, down the street from the Charleston Area Medical Center Women and Children's Hospital. Services are offered for families with seriously ill children, with families having access to guest rooms, a kitchen and education rooms at no cost to them.
