The most common cause of lung cancer is smoking cigarettes. 80% of people who have lung cancer got it from smoking. The longer you smoke cigarettes the better chance of getting lung cancer. Smoking at a young age increases the chance of getting lung cancer more then starting to smoke as an adult. The sooner you quit, the better your life will be. Passive smoking (secondhand smoking) can give you lung cancer if exposed for a long time to it.
Another way of getting cancer is from air pollution. The risk of getting lung cancer is present if you live in a big city like New

Make sure you cover the information found in the rubric. The first treatment option is surgery. There are many different ways of getting the surgery. The first way is called Lobectomy. What they would do is cut 1 of the 5 lobes to get rid of the tumor. The 2nd option is called a wedge resection. They do this if you can't have one of your lobes removed. They just remove the tumor and not a whole lobe. The 3rd option is segmentectomy. This is another option if you can't have a lobe be removed. The fourth and last surgery option is called Pneumonectomy. If the tumor is in the middle of the lung, you can get the whole lung removed. Adjuvant therapy is a treatment given to patients to lower the risk of the cancer returning. This may include radiation treatment, chemotherapy, targeted therapy or immunotherapy. These treatments lower the risk of cancer recurring, but there is always some risk the cancer will come …show more content…

Our dream treatment is to 3d print lungs. We think that it's the best solution because it will become cheaper to get the lungs. This treatment is the best because radiation gives you painful scars. We will be able to make a lot of lungs when we 3d print them and your insurance will cover it.
We could use some of the patents stem cells to create the lung. The stem cells can be used as building blocks and can be turned into the cells in the lung. Some strengths are that the side effects wouldn't be like chemo and radiation treatment. Another strength is that you're getting a brand new lung and not damaging your lungs to cure the cancer. A weakness is that not a lot of people will be able to get the 3d printed organ because the printer wont be in every hospital. Another weakness is that your body may reject the new lung.
We think that 3d printing lungs is realistic because we can 3d print other organs. If you can process of 3d printing lungs so that everyone has the chance to get a new lung will really help defeat lung

A common form of cancer that is very popular today is lung cancer. Lung cancer is a very dangerous form that can cause problems in simple body functions. These simple body functions are short breath and general fatigue. Lung cancer is commonly formed from smokers that has been exposed to that activity for numerous years. Lung cancer can also be spread by being exposed to asbestos or other pollutants. This form of cancer has many risk factors to it. These risk factors are high levels of air pollution, arsenic drinking water, and radon gas. Radon gas is a gas that is highly radioactive and is very sensitive to the body. Once radon is exposed to the body, it has a very high respiration rate which initially divide its radioactive cells- causing more significant damage to the body.

Doctors and engineers have been working on another way to get organs a faster and more efficient way. Using 3D printers can help with their problem. They have worked on using a 3D printer to make organs that are a perfect match for patients. This can be very useful it can get an organ ready in a short amount of time helping the patient recovery faster as well. Organ transplants are hard to come by. One you have to be put in a waiting list, and people are usually on that list for a long while, just waiting for a perfect match to come. But sometimes it takes to long and some people die while still on the waiting list. But when an organ finally does come they feel bad because someone had to die in order for them to use it. So Dr Ali Khademhosseini is trying to use 3D printing to help solve this problem. His theory is he can make organs from a 3D printer, which can make the waiting list decrease faster and have people not have to die in order for a perfect match. 3D printers have been used to make Human cells, tissue, and blood vessels. But making something like a heart is much more difficult. Because you have to make the beating and pumps. (Mesley). There have been problems in the past that have just know started to show in some people. "Viruses aren't the only worry, and here too the past may serve as a guide. In 1956 injections of human growth hormone became a standard therapy for children failing to develop properly. The hormone was extracted from

My exploration of this topic led me to an article on HuffingtonPost.com. The article is “How 3D Printing Could End The Deadly Shortage of Donor Organs” by Macrina Cooper-White. In said article,
Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer death, and cigarette smoking causes almost all cases. Compared to nonsmokers, men who smoke are about 23 times more likely to develop lung cancer and women who smoke are about 13 times more likely. Smoking causes
Lung cancer is a very common to be diagnosed with and harmful to anyone who is exposed to many resources around the world: smoking (first hand and second hand) and pollution. Any resource that is made up of chemicals that are exposed into the air that people breathe, give the risk of affecting others with lung cancer. However, since smoking is the most popular way to cause lung cancer, many people are exposed to it from either firsthand or second hand. First hand smoking is when the person being affected is indirect contact with the source that is giving off the toxins, while secondhand is when the one being affected is not directly connected to the main source. Either way the chemicals and toxins that come from harmful resources soon will build up and affect one’s normal body
Cancer is something that everyone has the possibility to get, but there are risk factors that can be avoided that increase individuals risks for developing it. One risk factor is smoking. Smoking increases the risk for lung cancer. I have been learning that sexual activity that is unprotected can lead to STD’s that can increase the risk for cervical cancer. These are just two of too many risk to list.
The incidence of Lung Cancer is mostly caused by cigarette smoking which has a percent of about 90% and rising. The risk of Lung Cancer by smoking is risked to how much you smoke over time. Doctors agree that Lung Cancer is caused by years and years of smoking cigarettes. Although cigarette smoking is the number on cause of Lung Cancer and harsh chemicals is also on the top list their are other causes to it like previous lung
Lung cancer is one of the most common types of cancer. There are many ways that lung cancer is caused, it can be inherited, you could be exposed to chemicals that damage the cells and tissue in your lungs/air pollution and smoking. Smoking is the main cause of lung cancer as the chemical ‘carcinogens’ damages the cells within your lungs and is pumped out to the other organs in your body.
