CBD Inhibits Human Glioma Cell Migration
The inhibition of endothelial cell migration has been recorded in studies of CBD and angiogenesis, and so, it makes sense that researchers would take it a step further and examine cell migration in brain cancer. In a 2005 study, published in the British Journal of Pharmacology, researchers examined the ability of cannabidiol (CBD) to impair the migration of U87 glioma cells stimulated by conditioned medium. The results indicated that CBD halved tumor cell migration in vitro, but was not mediated by the typical cannabinoid receptors, which the researchers speculate might be due to an interaction with a similar type of receptor showing inverse agonist properties.
