Being in a sorority I have met and got to know a lot of people, especially my sisters. I have only been a part of my sorority, Alpha Omicron Pi, for three short weeks, but I have learned a lot about myself and my sisters. We are all very unique and different. Although we are so diverse, we fit together like a puzzle; each of us has an important piece to complete the picture. Some traits of mine that would be as noticeable as a corner piece of the puzzle would be my outgoing personality or my optimism. However, one of my hard to find pieces would be the fact that I’m very insecure. My sisters of ΑΟΠ have helped me realize even the worst parts of my personality are essential to help piece together the puzzle. While writing this paper I asked some sisters of mine what character traits I have that stands out the most; almost everyone said outgoing, and I completely agree. My outgoing personality is definitely my most noticeable trait. My mom often tells me that I’ve never met a stranger. Once when I was a little girl my mother and I were in Walmart. I walked up to an old man and asked him if he had any candy, he proceeded to give me candy and I told him thank you and that we were best friends. When I’m in situations where I don’t know anyone, I’m never afraid to say hello and get to know them. For example, during recruitment I was constantly split up from my friends so I was forced to make new relationships and start conversations. My outgoingness is one of my very distinct personality traits, along with my optimism. Besides the outside edging, the center of a puzzle is often what I try to finish first. I feel like it's a very important part and holds everything together, just like my optimism. Being optimistic, definitely has its pros and cons, but I consider it to be a good thing. I would rather be looking at the positives of life than focusing on the negative. Going from living at home, and having my own bedroom, to sharing a room, and living in the dorms, I definitely have a lot I can be pessimistic about. However, I’m still optimistic. For example, I didn’t have to buy any appliances because my roommate already had them. Staying in the dorms also saves me time and gas money. My roommate also
The first example of this would be I always try to be honest with everyone including myself. I think it’s important not to be dishonest because you lose people’s trust, and you become unreliable. This is not what I would consider a good quality in a person. Another example of my character; is being someone who everyone can rely on and come to when they need advice or help with school, family, friends or etc. This is a very important because its significant to be able to have someone you can rely on at all times. The last example of my character is having flexibility in my life. For example when I was needed to change my position on my team I did so with ease and being a team player. Theses are a few ways I have demonstrated character through out my high school
The three main reasons I am excited to join a sorority include my personal development, loyalty and friendship, and support of my aspirations. As a sister, there is an expectation of social interaction and personal development. I am confident that my experience and communication skills will be enriched by the activities that I participate in, the responsibility I take, and the people I meet. I am looking forward to making friends for life. I think that the atmosphere and set up of a sorority fosters and encourages the development of lifelong friendships through common aims and shared experiences. I also believe that sorority life emphasizes and encourages loyalty to and among the sisterhood, my school and the nation. Support from my sisters
I show character by being a nice person. I am not the first to talk but when I am talked to I talk back in a nice way. I am also a very trustworthy person. I can be trusted with just about anything. To add to that I am an honest person. I follow rules and do what I am told. I take my responsibilities
My personality type is INFP according to (citation of website), they describe this type as “the true idealist always looking for the hint of good in even the worst of people and events, searching for ways to make things better. While they may be perceived as calm, reserved, or even shy, INFPs have an inner flame and passion that can truly shine.”(citation) this resonates with me because I do see myself as an idealist and I feel that it is my idealism that allows me to communicate as I do despite being an introvert. While I generally do prefer being alone, I have this need to share my ideas and discover other’s ideas which allows me to be perceived as more of an extrovert
Finally, my last characteristic (and my most important, personally) I enjoy helping people. Whether to be with homework or a personal situation, I am always willing to listen and help people accordingly. This is why I’m going to major in music education and minor in psychiatry is college; sharing knowledge and advice is something I’ve always succeeded at and been fond
My personality type is logistician(ISTJ). Some generally qualities are independent, logical, loyal, responsible, serious, organized, quiet and a rule follower etc. I found most of these qualities to be true about myself. I like working alone and think before I act. I need to have the facts before I set my k da to something. I'm pretty loyal since I keep things to myself and people can rely on me when they need some assistance. I am kind of quiet when I don't know where I am at or who I'm going to be dealing with. I don't like to be social and make conversations to others. I stay by myself until someone comes to me and speaks first. I can be serious at times but I'm a goofball and I like to be silly and sarcastic. I'm also a tile follower I
The first area I found characteristic to be important was in an organization inside Boy Scouts. The organization, Order of Arrow, is designed for the Boy Scouts who have shown extraordinary
The Book Quiet challenges cultural Biases for and against extroversion and Introversion. The book focuses on the different personality types, and how each type has its positive and negative effects. Introverts are generally people who are often more reserved, contemplative and passive. In the U.S, The extrovert personality is dominant. Assertiveness, charisma, social dominance reflects a superior type of person.
I believe I have a very durable character and it allows me to be who I am. I possess strong determination and perseverance qualities. When a goal is set, I don’t ever stop trying to attain it, despite how long it might take. Reaching a goal that you have put so much hard work into makes it all the more gratifying. I also like being very organized and efficient so I am able to complete all of my tasks in a timely and effective fashion. My true character showcases best when someone is in need of nurturing. It is at that point where I set my own personal dilemmas aside to be their shoulder to lean on. This really went into effect when a little over two years ago my best friend of ten years experienced the sudden and tragic loss of her father. Since I was one of the closest people to her, I was always there comforting and reassuring her that everything was going to be okay. That tragedy brought out my true, selfless character because it did not matter where I was, or what I was doing, if she needed me, I was there to support her
To earn a position in a sorority you have to pledge to the six pillars. Sisters have to pledge to sisterhood , leadership, women empowerment, academic excellence, diversity and service. Those pillars are their goals the reason why most of girls join this community. Thier bond grows stronger as they achieve their pillars. With the pillar of sisterhood they intend to spend quality time with one another, making this community friendlier for one another. They try to achieve sisterhood by having multiple events where we get to spend time with our bigs. Then they have leadership which is achievable by applying to be an officer or chair services. Each sister has the opportunity to be part of this leadership role because they are chosen at random. With leadership also comes women empowerment because the sisters push each other to become a powerful women. The women who can stand up for themselves and speak openly. This confidence is given by your sisters during study hours or other events. They work together to get good grades because their main goal is to be academically educated. They want to be powerful through the mind to show their leadership. Thier overall goal is to service the community to prove their leadership
Throughout my whole life, my personality has been what sets me apart from other people. Giving me the individuality I need while still
The first subset of my personality is Extraversion, as opposed to Introversion. As an extrovert, I would describe myself as social, external and gregarious. This characteristic helps me communicate and reach out to others. However, there are cons that go along
The purpose of this paper is to discuss characteristics of my personality. The main focus of this paper will be how my personality has developed over time. As I age and encounter new and different experiences, my personality has adapted and developed further. This paper will give an in-depth exploration into the people and events that have influenced my personality.
Also, extroverted people tend to act impulsively without thinking of consequences. An introverted person will think about his or her actions before committing to them (Extroversion). After taking the Myers-Briggs test, I discovered that I had an extroverted personality (Flynn). This is very prevalent in my job, as well as school. While I benefit from some time to myself, I enjoy working with groups of people. If I must choose between conducting a project on my own or with a group, I will usually pick the group. I also have a job that requires working with large groups of children. While some individuals may find such a large group overwhelming, I find it easy and comfortable. Another indicator of my extroverted personality is my tendency to act on impulse. Many times, I will enroll in classes before I take the time to see if I need them or will do well in them. I also make choices without considering consequences. Last semester, I chose to skip class to attend other events. While friends thought it made me a fun, flexible person, I ended up failing my class due to absences. Being introverted and extroverted both have their positive and negative qualities, but I typically benefit from my outgoing personality.
Without being redundant, three of the personality characteristics that I pride myself in possessing are as follows:
