Uber human resources utilize many tactics to control all drivers and passengers. In addition, Uber is widely known for allowing all drivers to be their own independent contractor. However, the issue that occur is that Uber does not compensate drivers for gas usage or provide incentives to keep up maintenance with driver vehicles. Beside, that Uber has many human resources tactics that has lead Uber to be a company that acquire and retain drivers. Due to the fact that Uber offers driver with many incentives and benefits. Furthermore, the primary human resource tactic that is strongly implemented is during the initial request between driver and passenger. During
Chauffeur companies are a safe and interesting option for busy families. As stated by Shuddle CEO Nick Allen, “during the back-to-school season we are seeing lots of interest and demand is building.” Using chauffeur companies is becoming exceedingly popular when kids’ and parents’ schedules don’t line up and there’s no option. Shuddle is becoming popular since they first launched in October in San Francisco with 200 drivers. Using Shuddle is a safe option for the reason that Shuddle uses mostly female drivers who are moms, teachers, nannies, and other caregivers. According to HopSkipDrive co-founder and CEO Joanna McFarland, “We call our drivers ‘caredrivers’ because they are caregivers first and drivers second.” HopSkipDrive is a safe option,

Uber. To many, it is the preferred mode of transportation for a sporting event or concert when traffic is mayhem. To others, it’s a convenient and fast way to step up in da club and get your jiggy on. I have used Uber a couple of time in the states and for the most part, the rides were smooth, comfortable, and direct. As I was embarking on my study abroad journey in Puebla, Mexico, my group was advised to use Uber as it is securer than taxis in Mexico. The first week using Uber was lit. Short time waits and swift pick-ups, no confusion with locations, drivers with good music taste and complimentary water and candy. Drivers would even open the car doors for us, classy af [or you can put “such high class
Compare this to the 36 seconds for a ride with an average price of $4.00 that NYC Uber passengers currently enjoy. Additionally, consider that it is already more cost effective to use a ride-sharing service rather own a car if you live in a city and drive less than 10,000 miles a year. This means that as automation advances, ride-sharing will increasingly be a cheaper and more attractive option and personal vehicles will greatly diminish. The future of transportation could conceivably be large fleets of autonomous vehicles serving as the central mode of transportation.
Chauffeur companies are not a good option for busy families. To start with, the article “Chauffeur Companies” tells us that, the dominators of chauffeur companies, Uber and Lyft, do not even allow minors, unescorted, to use their services. This in itself should be a red light to parents saying they should not depend on these services for their kids. Unfortunately, though, some drivers in these companies will still unofficially drive these children, and parents allow their kids to use it on a daily basis. In addition, the chauffeur companies that have been specifically designed for driving kids, such as Shuddle and HopSkipDrive, are more likely to operate in the suburbs, have to be scheduled in advance, and are more expensive due to safety measures
One of the leading online transportation services in the United States is the Uber. The ride sharing service was started by Garret Camp and Travis Kalanick in 2009. They operate their business in many countries in the world. The riders have to book their ride by sending request using the mobile app and the drivers will receive notification.
Community Wheels will focus on providing one main service; transportation. Despite being limited to one service; the organization will go about providing this service in a variety of ways. As previously mentioned, Community Wheels will partner with Uber to provide rides; however, the organization will also attempt to make use of volunteer drivers. The partnership with Uber will entail clients requesting Uber for their transportation needs, with their payment being categorized by their level of income, requiring them to pay in-between 10% – 25% of their total trip cost (See the percentage breakdown for income in the Appendix C). The remaining balance will be paid by Community Wheels, and the partnering organization via a financial model in which Community Wheels bears a majority of the cost. Should the need for transportation be higher than the number of Uber vehicles available, volunteers from Community Wheels will drive the client. Unlike with Uber, Volunteers will not be paid by the rider, instead volunteers will be reimbursed for their mileage at the current government established rate. When using Volunteers, riders will not be responsible for any payment.
“It’s a simple experience and a much more pleasant way to get a ride than stepping onto a busy street and waving at oncoming traffic” (Stone, 2014, p. 53). It is convenient for both the employee and customer to arrange a ride, which makes Uber preferable. Additionally, the employees of Uber are given more benefits than the employees of taxi companies. For example, Uber issues an iPhone with the Uber software, free gear to secure it to their windshield and an hour of orientation (Stone, 2014, p. 52). It is this simplicity that appeals to people seeking employment. They are also using a platform that is accessible to many of their customers, because, as of 2015, “64% of American adults now own a smartphone of some kind” (Smith, 2015). Since their focus is on luxury, innovation, and results, they have transformed the public transportation system in their favor.
