The name of the agency I visited was Child Abuse Prevention Center. The date of the interview was October 6th at 1:00 pm. Kim Tran was the person that I interviewed. She is the volunteer coordinator at Child Abuse Prevention she is in charge of recruiting volunteers and interns and does interviews.
The Child Abuse Prevention Center is a non-profit agency that gets their funds mostly from donations and fundraisers. They have an ongoing list of donors where they receive most of their funds. The agency serves children and families; it started to help families in Orange County thirty-one years ago. Their mission is to break the generational cycle of child abuse; and directly serve at-risk children and families in crisis to prevent child abuse. …show more content…

Child Abuse Preventions helps prevent from child abuse to occur. They have over two- hundred volunteers, one- hundred staff members and offer about fifteen programs to prevent child abuse. Some of the information that I learned in the interview was the enormous amount of child abuse that occurs daily. Kim Tran said that, “over 100 children are reported as abuse victims in Orange County every day. It was surprising to me that for every child abuse report made, its estimated that three additional cases go unreported. Hearing that about one third of abused and neglected children will eventually victimize their own children. A reason that the agency’s mission to prevent the cycle of abuse and help parent in crisis. The also offer crisis intervention in their agency. I was impressed to see the list of all the donors and very glad to know that those people are saving children from being victims of abuse. This was the first Human Services agency I ever visited and I was impressed of the services they offer to the community. During the interview, Kim Tran presented a PowerPoint of the overall agency and their information and also success stories. It was really amazing to hear some of the success stories of their clients, and knowing the hard times they overcame to have a stable, happy lives
