Children Should Get Their Children Vaccinated

Whether or not to vaccinate your children is a very controversial topic. Most doctors are neither 100% for or 100% against vaccines, but somewhere in between. People like Andrew Wakefield have falsified info and lied about vaccines for their own agendas and caused many people to think negatively of vaccines. There are side effects that can occur, but most are not serious. To me, vaccination is similar to the seat belt situation. Many people are against wearing seat belts because they have heard of seat belts causing serious injury/death in car accidents. Although seat belts often do cause bruises, they rarely cause death. More of the time than not, a seat belt can prevent injury and save your life. But even though there is a very small risk of dying because of a vaccine or a seat belt, there are still people that are against them. In my opinion, the pros outweigh the risks and I do believe kids should be vaccinated for

We must not forget how catastrophic disease was in the 17th century. Many people, especially children died early deaths because their bodies just could not fight those diseases. We live in a time and age where vaccines are available to help us fight off diseases that once killed so many. Vaccines are necessary, and the risks of not being vaccinated far outweigh the small risks associated with vaccination. Preventable diseases can cause permanent disability and death. There has been no correlation between vaccines and developmental disorders such as autism. According to the American Academy of Pediatrics, “most childhood vaccines are 90-99% effective in preventing disease” (Vaccines ProCon.org)”. Vaccines are beneficial for everyone’s protection. Child Vaccinations should be mandatory.

Throughout the years, there have been many serious diseases that plagued the world, a number of which have been eradicated through the widespread administration of vaccinations. In the 1950s, the number of polio cases in the United States was at 58,000, and in 1988, this disease had affected 350,000 people (11 Facts About Polio). Because polio mainly affects children under the age of five, it became very important to parents that something was done to cure and protect their children. When the polio vaccine was created, doctors were able to administer it to people across America, eventually erasing the virus from the country. While the majority of parents in the United States agree that vaccinations should be mandatory for children (excluding certain children with medical conditions preventing vaccination), there are a growing number of parents choosing to take a stand against these rules. Vaccinations are important because when they are administered, the child becomes protected against the diseases, resulting in fewer cases of contraction. In order to protect the children and adults of the United States from many potentially life-threatening illnesses, vaccinations should be mandatory for every able-bodied child.

Getting rid of these exemptions would be beneficial to not only parents and children, but also to members of society. Having children vaccinated at a young age when the immune system can respond correctly to vaccines will benefit the future health of children. In my opinion Vaccinations should be imperative to children. Especially in their first three years, because their immunity are flimsy in this stage, so we should protect him from the diseases which they compelled to face. Vaccinations are safe and they can save lives by making children have a stronger immunity. The studies and statistics show the effectiveness of childhood vaccinations in preventing diseases. In addition, Vaccinations are very important to everyone on this planet because it supports the natural immunity into our bodies. The reason of that is to have a stronger immunity against diseases. As stated by the World Health Organization,” More than 2.5 million deaths a year are prevented in all age groups owing to vaccination against four diseases – diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis (DTP) and measles”. This is one proof of the effectiveness of vaccinations. Moreover, children who cannot get vaccinations for some reasons such as their financial issues or their health would be safer if the other children are vaccinated and this called herd immunity. Further, Vaccinations cost much less than the cost of treating diseases and their implications.

In the United States, the law states that vaccinations are required for children entering school unless they have a valid reason that prevents them from receiving the vaccinations. Starting when children are born, they begin the regimen of vaccinations that continue throughout their adolescent years and adulthood. Each year children receive a variation of shots to protect them from the illnesses they will encounter in the world, especially once they attend school. The most common reasons parents forego getting their children vaccinated are religious beliefs, medical exemptions, and personal beliefs. Due to the rising number of parents declining to get their children vaccinated, the number of outbreaks of preventable diseases has increased. The question is now should parents/guardians be forced to vaccinate their children?

Immunization is very important to the safety and health of everyone, especially children. Whether on not to vaccinate is the big question here. The only reasonable choice to make is to vaccinate. Immunization is not bad; moreover, the choice to not receive shots is dangerous. The choice to vaccinate your child could be a choice of either life or death. Vaccines are safer and easier than many people think. Immunization can protect from loss of time and money due to hospitalization, and can save future generations. Becoming educated on vaccinations and how they work will save lives one day.

Have you heard of the measles outbreaks at Disneyland during 2015? The CDC reported “After an uncharacteristically high number of measles outbreaks in late 2014, the highly publicized California measles outbreak hit the media early this year. Linked to Disneyland Resort Theme Parks in California the outbreak quickly became a multi-state public health incident that resulted in a total of 147 cases.” (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention)This outbreak happened because most of the people who got measles were unvaccinated. The most common questions people usually would ask before they got vaccination: why do the vaccines important? Can vaccines one-hundred percent protect everyone? In my opinion, people should get vaccinations because vaccines can prevent many diseases, it could protect the herd immunity from the individual diseases also it could protect the people who can’t get the vaccination, and vaccines were important for children or young adults.

There is nothing worse than seeing an adolescent life being taken away from a dangerous disease. It is really painful knowing that person will never get to live to see their full potential and experience life. Diseases cause many deaths every year, it is inevitable. Bacteria are contained in every disease and one way it is absorbed is by being inhaled by the people, which will infect the body as a whole. Should we be giving our children vaccines? Vaccines have many pros and cons, but should we really rely on vaccines that most of the population doesn't need. Vaccines contain many deadly side effects that can happen in a instant, they also contain harmful ingredients including small dose of mercury that they probably don´t want you to know about and last but not least most of the disease that vaccines target have disappeared so there no longer a threat yet they still want to give our children vaccines.
