According to the number on the dice, players move either 1-6 spaces. If they land on a normal square, they read the writing on the space aloud before obeying the instructions, whether it tells them to lose or gain points or miss their next turn. If they land on a fortune square, (the large squares in the corner) they pick up a fortune card, read the quote aloud and then flip it, where the fortune is. If the background is red, that will mean that you just picked up a good fortune card, but if it is green it will be bad. Then the player follows the instructions on it, alike to the normal squares where it might be gaining or loss of points. If the player gains points, and if that means their total equals five they can place a button on one of the dots leading up to the centre. If not, they simply mark another point on their tally sheet, which is included in the game. If they lose a point and that means that their total is no longer five but instead four, they take off their counter and mark on the tally sheet their amount of points.
Order of turns: The game begins with the player who has rolled the highest amount on the dice. They move off their fortune square and onto another square. Once all players have moved off of their starting squares, the fortune squares are in play.
Ending the game: The game comes to a close when one player has reached the centre of the board, with 20 points and 4 counters. However, you can play off for second, third and fourth
The lottery went on just like all other activities in the town. Mr. Summers leads the town in this yearly activity. Each family member is required to draw a slip of paper from a designated box. If the slip of paper has a black dot on it, that person wins the lottery. The reader is tricked into thinking this is a good win, but this is not the case. The lottery ends with a fatality in which the townspeople readily and willingly stone one of their own people. This demonstrates the good vs. evil characterization in this story. In “The Most Dangerous Game,” Connell uses General Zaroff to set the stage for a friendly act of hunting. He and Rainsford have a friendly chat about hunting before the General reveals to Rainsford that he wants to use him for his prey. Rainsford accepts his challenge and runs into the woods and prepares himself for what he thinks is a friendly game of hunting. The good vs. evil in this story is clearly portrayed in the end when it also ends in a fatality.
As the story goes on, each the following paragraphs contains subtle clues as to what is going to unfold. After all of the children have gathered around, the men began to fill the square, followed by the women. "They stood together, away from the pile of stones in the corner" (p.422). The fact that they stood away from the stones, again, informs the reader that the stones will play a significant role. Nervousness amongst the people is manifested due to the children's reluctance to join their parents in the square. At this particular moment, there is a feeling that this lottery is not going to have a pleasant outcome.
The chance to win is also high and the payout is as the same as the bet on the color. According to the rules, you can bet once or twice. In some cases, the ball can choose the number at the same range up to 7 rounds. But it is better not to bet a lot. It is better to increase the bet to a point if you lose and to decrease for 1 point if you win. So, you could play for a long time and you will never lose a lot of money. Moreover, it is possible to win every time a small amount.
In each turn, the caster chooses a number between 5 and 9 and this number is called the main. He then throws two dice.
The autobiographical novel Chinese Cinderella, is about protagonist Adeline Yen Mah’s 1940 childhood in China. Our main antagonist in the story is Adeline’s stepmother, Niang, who is portrayed throughout the story as the ‘evil-stepmother’ figure. But is there the possibility that Adeline has unfairly depicted Niang? The time period in Naing’s life which this book takes place in, would have been an extremely difficult and stressful for her. She was forced into a marriage with man twice her age and expected to become maternal towards his five children from his previous marriage. Under Niang’s circumstances she also had to take measures to protect, manage and discipline 7 children, which we only see as cruel and violent because of the modern viewpoints.

Throughout the text, Adeline describes her cruel family and the trauma she was confronted with at school, trying to satisfy her heartless father with educational achievements. Furthermore, Adeline owns a special quality that helps her to handle the cruelty of her upbringing and rise above many obstacles. Adeline has been always resilient. She is very strong and tackles everything that comes her way. By being friendless and having a pet duck as a friend, she distracts herself from her coldblooded reality.
In the autobiography Chinese Cinderella by Adeline Yen Mah, the narrator was influenced in many ways by the people around her. One character which influences the narrator’s life to a vast amount was her step-mother Niang. Her Aunt Baba also played a very big part on how Yen Mah turned out in her later and earlier years as well as everywhere in between. Her grandfather Ye-Ye was a constant support to Adeline Yen Mah.
The book Chinese Cinderella, written by Adeline Yen Mah has four main themes. They are: family & relationships, abandonment & loneliness, self-esteem and history. The author Adeline Yen Mah, also wrote the book Falling Leaves but Chinese Cinderella was written for younger audiences. Chinese Cinderella is actually an autobiography, not a fairy tale. Adeline (the protagonist) has to work for her dreams, not by wishing from a fairy godmother. This book was set in the 1900’s (1941-1952). At that time WW2 was happening making Adeline’s life harder. The moral of this book would be that no matter your circumstances, you can work hard and achieve your dreams. This book is really captivating and it tells the reader not to underestimate anyone. That’s why I think this is an amazing book for everyone to read.
First you will have 2 line of people standing next to each other. Both lines will have one hula hoop. However line A. will be holding hands, with their arms out at the side. While line B. will not be holding hands, but they will have an arms length distance from each other. Then you will have a shuffled deck of cards per line lying at the end of both lines, and then you will have a bell at the other end of the line, with a player not in a line. So the game will begin when the player not in a line rings the bell. This will indicate the players in both lines to start.
Community cards are cards that the whole "community" can use and there is five of them. Together will your two hole cards whoever makes the best five card hand wins. In regards to the community cards, they are dealt face up in the middle of the table. The first three cards dealt are known as the flop, then the turn and finally the river. The river is your last chance to catch the card you have been waiting for to make your hand a winner. Before and after the flop as well as before and after the river there are rounds of betting. The first two people to the left of the dealer must place a forced bet called the blind. Blinds are to assure there is always money in the pot. In order to see the flop everyone must call the amount of the blind or fold depending on their hole cards. There are four ways to bet, Check, Raise, Fold and Call. Checking means you are betting nothing and passing bet to the next player. Raising is obvious, it means you are putting more money into the pot. Folding is when you do not want to call or your cards are so bad you don't even want to check. And finally, calling is when you match the raise made by another player to see the next card. You have all four options to choose from except when a player has bet before you and then you cannot check.
Second, it is to see the bets of the other players and compare hands (a high bet meaning a seemingly good hand, low bet meaning the opposite). And third, to “bluff” your opponents for any reason. When betting, you can also “fold”. This means that you drop out of the game and cannot come back in. If choosing to fold, you lose your bet, but will not have to bet again. This type of play is done if the person does not have any sort of hand going for him. Play continues until all cards are dealt and all bets have been placed. Then you show your cards, starting with the person who placed the final bet first. The winner takes the “pot” which is all the bets that have been placed in the middle.
The game begins by having each player to roll the dice to decide who goes first. Whoever rolls the highest number goes first, and play then clockwise around the board. It is the best way to
