As a high school senior, I spent all year searching for a compatible college that fits my requirements. I wanted a college that is affordable, so when I graduate I am not stuck with a massive debt. I wanted a campus that is has friendly people and feels like home. Finally, the college must provide me with the right skills to start my career. With those three standards in mind, I narrowed my choices to one perfect college.

My attention was to search about universities and the opportunities they provide for their students. I looked for college that makes me feel part of a something big and not about me graduating from the university. After researching on a couple of colleges, I chose Texas A&M as my top university to enroll in the coming fall semester. I have always had an interest in engineering majors, especially chemical engineering, because of laboratory experiments and learning about new chemicals. I have always been waiting for the day I could become a senior to be able to apply to the university I had always dreamed of enrolling. TCU offers 200 organizations and clubs. You can join theatre, a jazz band, or political activism if you wanted. Also there are 14 Fraternities and 16 sororities are included. Even if you’d like to be in the military TCU has a ROTC program for the army and Air force. The military will pay for your education so, that could be great for anyone. Not only but also, many students loved to attend TCU’s football games, so if you love football it would be great to attend. My plane touches down at Copenhagen-Kastrup airport. I look out the window to see the lush green grasses of Denmark wave in the wind one last time. Exiting the plane to the left I flash a smile and a cheery "Hej do" to the attendants before catching the 11:26 express train to Helsingborg, Sweden. Entering through the front porch door, I can smell the fresh köttbullar, a traditional Swedish meatball dish, cooking on the stovetop. Reunited once again with my parents, we begin to reflect on our time in Sweden. Myself having resided in California for the previous two years, I have been blessed to have the opportunity to visit Europe every period I have off from school. The adventures I’ve had have exposed me to many different people from many different cultures. Whether it is the nights spent out in Belgrade or trekking the hills of Greece, in all, I enjoyed every minute of it. The greatest education I have discovered is immersing myself with people who speak, think, and live different than I do. Over the course of these travels, it occurred to me the course of action I wanted to take to strive to achieve my long-term goals of serving in government abroad.

The reason I chosen Tarleton State University is because Tarleton is about helping and supporting everyone. Being a supportive to an individual’s dreams and goals is what set Tarleton apart from any college in my mind. All the staff here want to see every student pass with flying colors. At Tarleton “love” is truly shown, if an individual attends Tarleton the individual will fall in love with the support and history. Tarleton also showed me even if everyone supports an individual it must be the individual’s job to support their self.
