I learned a lot about myself from taking the career test. There were a lot of careers that I had never even considered doing. One thing that I discovered about myself from taking this test is that I would like to work outside at least part of the time. I probably always knew this but never really realized it until I took this test. My lowest interest level on any career was 8%. I got an 8% interest level in two different categories. One of these categories was probably pretty predictable because they were careers in math and engineering. That was only one category of the two that I got an 8% in. The other career that I got an 8% in was a career in technology. I probably got a low interest level in this one because a career in technology probably
After completing CareerLeader, I am surprised that in my interest besides influencing others my next highest interest, quantitative analysis, was in the 44th percentile. I did not think that my next highest interest would be so low compared to my first interest which was in the 91st percentile. I was also surprised how low most of my skills scored. I only had one key skill and I thought more would score higher. I was not surprised about what my top two career matches, law and finances in a corporate setting, because that’s what I think I want to do. I would like to either be a sports agent or work with a sports team with their finances. I also was not surprised about what my top interest was given my career match. I also was not surprised with my top two motivators, security and positing, because my dad always told me to be secured in my finances and because I have also learned better by watching someone do what is needed to be done. Overall I was not that surprised with the overall results because they were what I expected them to state.
After doing the personality tests on Indiana Career Explorer, the tests gave me a couple of examples of fields I would be successful in, it told me what values may be important to me in a workplace environment. I feel these assessments were spot on and I have more confidence in my ability to be successful in my career choice.
Kristen Lewis’ article, “Malala the Powerful” was about how a girl as shot in the head by the terrorist group, the Taliban because she was using her voice to stand up and say everyone deserves an education, especially girls. In Pakistan, the religion is strict therefore the Taliban decided to control the government, that made life for women and girls brutal. The Taliban ordered that girls were not allowed to attend school. Malala completely disagreed so she used her voice on the internet incognito to bring awareness about what was happening. The Taliban was out of control, Malala’s family was forced to move South. With all the commotion she revealed her identity, making her well known world wide. Once news broke on who she was, the Taliban
Admittedly, receiving my Myers-Briggs report I felt a little disheartened from the result. When I observed to the career report I saw a flood of occupations I had never before considered or even knew existed but despite that I decided to look into them.
I am surprised that an online test can be so accurate, I think it did a really good job describing my work personality. I even liked all of the occupation suggestions that were given to me. The number one job on my top ten list is an Accountant, which is what my major is. I’m eager to learn more about accounting because it fits my results so well, I was clearly born to be an accountant. I also think accounting is interesting because there are so many different types of accounting and accountants and I’d like to learn more about them. So many people just picture it to be a boring desk job but it can be so much more than that. Another job that is listed that I’d be interested in learning more about is an auditor. I don’t know too much about it, but I know they deal with fraud and investigating and things of that nature. I’m a really nosey person and I would love doing that kind of stuff. However, maybe I am totally off about the kind of work they do. All in all, I’d really like to learn about a lot of different occupations that you can work with when you have an Accounting
The career pathway test that we took, made me realize that I have a lot more options for a career than I had been aware of previously. I may not go into any of them, but just knowing that I have other options makes me feel safe enough to ever consider changing my major. Even though the first career option may not be accurate for what I want to do, the other choices provided can get you thinking about other
Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) (2015) states that all nurses should be competent at carrying out an accurate assessment on patients of all ages safely using invasive and non-invasive procedures. Benner (1982) formed the stages of competency: Novice; this is where I started in year one, I had never done a manual blood pressure before and lacked confidence. Advanced beginner; this is where I feel I am at present, I can take a manual blood pressure with occasional supportive cues, I am more confident than the first time and my knowledge is improving. Competent; this is the stage I expect to be at when I qualify, I would like to feel confident and I intend to know exactly what I am doing and why. Proficient; this is where I expect to be
In order for me to complete this career assessment paper, I initially took an Interest Inventory survey. Upon completing this process, it revealed that my personality profile score was (I, C, A). These three letters represented my strengths and interests in determining which career field would best suit me.
The Book of Genesis offers a simple and straightforward creation of the universe; over the period of just seven days, God creates life on Earth with several elements: the sky, heaven, dry land and living creatures. This philosophical creation story finds itself ingrained in countless Christians. The Book of Genesis should be respected because it shapes how we think our god looks at us and how we think of our god. On the other hand, these chapters are utterly unreasonable especially when one considers the metaphors. These chapters tried to brainwash my mind with subtle fallacies of how authority should be unquestionable. How is this established through the punishment of Adam and Eve?
For this research project I had to take two surveys. They were important because the told me things that I knew about myself and also some things I didn’t know, so it helped put me in the right direction to find out my career. The results I got back from the career cluster survey online
When I was young I wanted to become a teacher; however, that all changed throughout the years. What had motivated me to become a teacher was all the supplies they had like the whiteboards, the markers, and the construction paper. It seemed fun and interesting to me to have all the supplies. I no longer wish to become a teacher. As I grew older I realized that I wanted to do something that has me going to places, seeing new things, speaking with diverse individuals, and for that reason I chose to be involved in Real estate.
The Western World was revolutionized by the invention of the birth control pill in the 1960s, paving the way for the Sexual Revolution of the late 1960s-70s. Men and women during this era brought sex from out of the shadows and into the forefront of societal conversation. The Sexual Revolution is one of two periods of sexual insurrection, therefore, it can be called the First Sexual Revolution. The Second Sexual Revolution occurs in the late 1990s and early 200s, beginning with the distribution of the erectile dysfunction pill, Viagra. The second Sexual Revolution occurred in the wake of the shift towards abstinence sexual education in the early 1990s, both factions promoting male sexuality and pleasure over female’s, like that of the
Myers and Briggs created a personality test that not only will help people to figure out their personality types, but at the same time it aids in the discovery of which career pathways people should take based on their specific personality traits. Based on the personality trait INFP that was given to me from the Myer-Briggs test I have quite a few career pathways that fit my personality. Some of the career choices suited to my personality is a writer, counselor, teacher/professor, psychologist, psychiatrist, musician, or a religious worker; which seems like a pretty broad selection. Although there is a broad selection of careers that would suit my personality none of which are the career path that I have chosen; which is to become a physical therapist, but if I was not set on a goal some of these career ideas would not seem too bad. While reading the list of jobs suited for my personality I was surprised to see that psychologist was on the list because before I decided to go for physical therapy I wanted to pursue a career in that exact field. As for most of the other fields mentioned above I
Career assessments are very beneficial when an individual is trying to determine what career path they may be wanting to take. Sometimes new information will become apparent and other times information that is already known to that individual will just be simply solidified. It is important to answer the questions as accurately to oneself as possible. My personal results only reassured me of what I already knew.
My whole life I have always wanted to do something where people will remember me. I went threw millions of career choices before I came to the conclusion of a nurse. It’s not something that will get me into History books, but its something where all the people I help will remember what I did to care for them or their loved ones. My mom went to school to become and RN, but dropped out when she became pregnant with me. After that story was told to me, I didn’t want to be anything related to nursing. It wasn’t until my step mom went to school to be LPN that I realized it would be possible for me to do. I saw how much happiness it gave her, and I want the same thing. She loved helping the patients by treating them, and helping their families
