He started out in a shallower spot with a bunch of lily pads. First he threw a topwater frog. He caught three or four largemouth bass but only one was worth keeping. John decided that he might have better luck in the deeper water so he tied on a crankbait. He went out a little deeper and found a good spot. He fished there for about an hour but only caught two. Neither one was a keeper. He made up his mind to stay a little long and ended up catching a decent six pounder. But after about twenty minutes he changed spots again. He found a nice looking spot that had some grass. From years of experience John knew that bass like staying close to grass because there is usually food in the grass. So he tied on a jig that had a crawfish trailer on it. He casted a few times and caught one but wasn't having much luck.

A net, called an abi, was made with intertwined tree branches. The bait that they used for fishing was called wa’adegon. Fishhooks were made out of copper or a hook shaped bone that was sharpened at both ends. For larger fish, a leister was used. This tool was a three-pronged spear. There was a center point and two points that came out on each side of the middle point. Lobsters and shellfish were dug out of the seabed with sticks and roasted on coals, (Nova Scotia 2-3; Wallis and Wallis 27-28; Davis 27).

Bass fishing can be a technically challenging sport and or activity due to many factors like weather condition, water temp etc. Bass fishing has been around for hundreds of years however the sport has changed a lot since it started as a sport around the late 19th century. Frogs, buzzbaits, jigs, divers, worms, and many more are great lures for bass. Also, you need new, strong line. There are different types of line, monofilament, fluorocarbon, and braid. What your using as a lure or your environment of the pond/lake determines what type you need. Just keep in mind gear plays a big role in catching bass.

In bass fishing there are many things that factor into why you caught a certain fish. Most would just assume it’s dumb luck which in some cases I suppose that's true. But when you try to explain to someone how the turbidity of the water, the water temperature, the time of year, the thermocline, or how one subtle change in how you work the lure can trigger a bite, you can see the confusion on their face. Every little detail comes into play when fishing a tournament, all the studying, practice, and time on the water you have put in are up to the test. I fished my first tournament freshman year, me and my buddy did research, contacted B.A.S.S, and consulted our schools principal in order to create a bass fishing club at our high school. Unfortunately we didn't win the tournament but we did place best out of all freshman teams. After the tournament we talked with one of the team's boat captains who happened to be a professional bass fisherman on the FLW tour. We asked him how they managed to catch their fish and he reminded us of one of the most important tools in fishing, patience. Patience plays a large role in life whether it is dealing with people at work,
Steadily gaining line on this mysterious fish as the line begins to lose slack a sign that the fish is coming to the surface, I race against time to regain slack and keep tension on him. The bass breaks the surface as it propels itself into the air while shakings its bucket mouth vigorously desperately trying to shake the hook. It dives back down as I continue to crank down on the reel. The flash sun's me, the fish surfaces exhausted. I anxiously snatch my net and swoop underneath the bass. It hopelessly flops around desperately trying breath. I pin it down and surgically remove the hook that was lodged in the back of its throat. Carefully grasping the basses lip I lay it horizontally against the measuring tape, 17 ½ inches, a very healthy fish with a substan clay belly on it. I take a few actions shots blinding the fish with my flash, dunking its head underneath the water brings life rushing through its body as it vigorously propels himself back under meanwhile covering me with fish slime and mucky lake
Matthew Macioch Ms. Yulico English 101 12 January 2016 Macbeth Research Paper In William Shakespeare’s Macbeth, it is clearly evident that excessive ambition can lead one to act in a violent manner.
Macbeth, written by William Shakespeare, is a tragedy about a character Macbeth wants power over all of Scotland, but fails in the end. The play properly shows Aristotle’s criteria of a tragedy throughout the whole play. Likewise, Macbeth displays a supernatural power at the beginning of the play. The witches said “All hail, Macbeth! Hail to thee, Thane of Cawdor!”
The excitement begins to rise as the first cast draws nearer. The motor is prepared for take-off and the key is placed in the ignition. The engine turns over and the huge motor roars. The sleek boat accelerates rapidly and speeds toward the first fishing spot of the day. In a matter of minutes, the powerful boat glides into the fishing spot. The anticipation of catching a fish becomes almost unbearable. The fishing poles are grabbed quickly out of the rod lockers, and lures are tied onto the end of the fishing line. Moments later, the sound of a lure splashing into the water can be heard from the boat. The real adventure has just begun.
These swimbaits were bigger than many of the fish I was catching and it seemed silly that a bass would even bite it. However, I learned from experience I should never judge something before putting it to the test and it wouldn't hurt to give these “big swimbaits” a chance. I ended up buying a six inch swimbait and dedicated a full day to using it. I almost gave up after using it for a few hours with no results, but I stuck with my plan. On my final cast, I felt a slight “tick” as I was reeling it in. I set the hook and suddenly I had the biggest bass of my life on the line. The bass fought hard, almost tipping my kayak, but finally I brought it in close and grabbed it. In my hands, was that elusive five pound bass from straight out of my dreams! At last, all the time, work, and dedication paid off. I was hollering at the top of my lungs in joy. The best part of the catch was putting her back in the water knowing that one day she would be even bigger.
