In this organization I can contribute by showing my full potential I’m a very hardworking and determined person, I will help by being focused and assertive with everything I do. I have learned a lot from being the co-captain of the jv cheerleading team last winter and also being the captain for the jv cheerleading team this season, I have learned that communication is the key to all success and that if you don’t communicate things will become more difficult for you and your peers around you. Another thing I’ve learned is to adapt to change quickly and that any change that you or others make can be for tthe greater good of you and them, during last season of me being co-captain i learned to persevere through anything that i find hard and I
A sport is an organized association that provides regulated activities to individuals. In most cases these individuals are composed into teams with an identity, mission statement, and goal. Competitive cheerleading is association, and just like the definition of a sport, competitive cheerleading is organized and acknowledge under specific associations, (ISHAA,NCCA,etc.). Those associations regulates the activities of each participant. Every participant is classified by their team name and mascot. With pride each participant and team identify themselves and motivate themselves through their mission statement and goal. Considering, these relative factors, it is evident that competitive cheerleading is a sport. Competitive cheerleading is being
Imagine bright lights, screaming fans, and a huge ESPN camera in one arena with a huge trophy at stake. No, it’s not a football championship. It’s the UCA College Nationals. This is where all a team’s hard work pays off as they step on the mat to perform their routine of two minutes and thirty seconds. Tumbling, stunting, and performing, teams try their very best to impress the judges and receive as much points as possible, hoping to be placed number one in their division.
To be a cheer captain, there are many responsibilities and priorities. To be a captain you have to be strong and not afraid to try new things. You need to have a great positive attitude the whole time and not let the drama start on the team. You have to make sure your team is ready for games and practices and make sure everyone knows what they are doing and if not to take it slowly until they get it. Being a captain is a lot of responsibilities but it’s an amazing opportunity. I think I am fit to be the captain, because I can bring all these priorities or tasks in with me. I know not to let my feelings drag the team down and I know that you always have to keep a smile on your face.
My leadership skills have developed enormously while being part of the Tigette program, and will continue to grow because I have been
The sport of cheerleading has been around for a long time; since 1884 in fact! In the beginning, cheer was a sport dominated by college men. Since, women have taken over, and in 1967 the first ranked college cheer competition was held. Both school and competitive cheerleading offer many rewarding opportunities. Though they are a part of the same sport, the two types of squads are actually quite diverse. School cheer is undeniably a worthwhile and respectable sport, but competitive teams often provide a more challenging approach, and are more suited to experienced cheerleaders.
I believe that I will make a great member of NJHS and really make a difference in the club. I have been told many times by teachers and peers that I am a leader. Part of being a leader is being respected and having responsibility. Which means that if I am given a task, I will take charge
Being captain can be one of the most important aspects of a dance team, but with my hard work and determination, I can take this squad far. I am well prepared to take on the responsibility’s that come my way. As many of you know we were VERY close to making it to state last year and I would love to have that feeling of not just coming close but to make it to state. *KNOCK ON WOOD* I will make sure that while having fun at practice, we take our time seriously and perfect our routines. Every year if I had a problem or I was having a rough day and all I needed to do was vent the captains were there. No matter if it was during lunch or after practice they were there to talk. If I am elected dance team captain, not only will I help all of you with dance but also with anything else you are having problems with. I will make sure everyone feels comfortable and included. If they are having a bad day please don’t hesitate to pull me aside and talk about it. I am willing to listen to ideas of my co-captain and the rest of the dance team to make our dances the best they can be. I know I am far from perfect, but as captain I will work right alongside you girls and push all of us to be our
I am intimately familiar with the workings of the club, as I have been involved in a leadership role from nearly the first day. While the rest of my fellow officers are seniors and will graduate this June, I hope to carry on in a leadership role and ensure the club we have worked so hard to establish will continue to flourish. Through my experiences this year, I know specifically which aspects of the club are running smoothly and which need more work; I know which of our efforts were successful, and which missed the mark. I hope to bring my knowledge to the NHS leadership team in my senior year so that the State High chapter will have a bright and stable future. Furthermore, I possess the qualities necessary to be a strong leader. In addition to my organizational abilities, I can communicate effectively and appropriately with both my peers and my teachers. I am dedicated to my work, and independently motivated to achieve success. I am an excellent team player, having had significant practice this year both leading a team as an officer and working within a team and delegating tasks as head of the Bunny Hop 5k advertising committee. Given the opportunity, I would enthusiastically utilize and continue to develop all of these skills as president of the State High
At the beginning of my senior year, I committed myself to additional volunteer works. These volunteer activities require leadership skills that I have learned previously. Some of these activities include:
In conclusion, I believe all of these reasons would make me a valuable asset to your team.
As the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders became more popular, more little girls and boys looked up to them as idols. Many of the cheerleaders cherished this and acted, as role models for the little girls who would one day want to also cheer on the Cowboys. The cheerleaders tried to be more than just a girl in a revealing uniform, but an inspiration to them as well. Aron (2010) noted that little girls could now aim to be a Dallas Cheerleader instead of Miss America (p. 71). Over the years, the appearance of the cheerleader’s began to take precedence over their hard work and talent. This conveys a strong message to impressionable children that appearance is more important than hard work. For many young girls and boys, cheerleading has been their escape
In volleyball and basketball, I have been selected as team captains and awarded all league 1st team honors. Also in basketball, I have led the state in 3-pointers, broken the school record for 3-pointers in a game, and received Honorable Mention all-state. I am Student Council Activities Chair, the class of 2018 treasurer, three-time yearbook editor and FBLA public relations officer. The past three years I have competed in District and State FBLA competitions where I received 3rd in Journalism, and 1st place in Word Processing my junior year at districts, as well as getting 5th at state in Publication Designs. By not only being involved in various organizations, but holding leadership positions in them has taught me leadership skills and
I feel that I would be a very positive contribution to the Antlers Chapter of the NHS. If I were to be elected as an officer, I would do my best to lead the NHS chapter in a direction that would improve the group as a whole. I feel that I would be beneficial to the chapter, because I know what it takes to be a leader. To be a leader, you need three important qualities. Three qualities you need to portray are confidence, persistence, and responsibility. I’ve been in several leadership positions that acquired these qualities, and the NHS needs officers with these three qualities for many reasons. To begin, an officer needs confidence. I’ve had to obtain confidence in my leadership position as a section leader in band. I’ve been section leader
~I believe that I have shown myself to be a reliable and knowledgeable leader with the ability to manage and serve with humility and grit. I also feel that I am ready and willing to take on a new challenge to further the reach and impact of Build as a manager. To this end, I intend to continue to show myself as a trusted and dedicated team member who is willing to not only teach by showing but will also learn by doing.
In terms of leading a team, I regard myself as an enthusiastic and considerate leader. My colleagues on my team can always feel my passion about achieving goals as well as my consideration about others. I intend to make conversations productive by understand other’s perspectives first. I also have a high standard of integrity and apply the same criteria on both myself and my coworkers. When I was working for Deloitte, I was always the first choice for all supervisors in my group if they need to find a project leader for a very diverse team. I have been nominated as the “Team Star” for two consecutive years.
