Cambelle Vredevelt
How coat of arms, bullying, and learning disabilities all has to do with me. I have a lot more in common with coat of arms, bullying, and learning disabilities than I might think.
I am glad that In my class we are listening to presentation and writing essays. I am ecstatic because I get to figure myself out and realize that the most peculiar things may have stuff in common with me. Bullying. Bullying can happen anywhere at anytime. Don’t be a bystander! Stand up, speak out and help others. Over 3.2 billion people are bullied each year. The reason people bully is because “hurt people hurt people.” If something is going on at home and you don’t know how to solve it, people may take out their, stress, aggression, or anger out on other people.

When I was in 3rd grade a mean bully would always write me mean notes saying that I was ugly and I should not come to school. I never knew why she bullied me, but she made so much of an impact that I left the school. A year later I came back to the school to help out for community service, I bumped into my bully and she apologized for her rude behavior and said it was just because she was jealous. Now I know if someone is bullying you don't just let it happen ask them what's going on and it may be more than sees the eye. Another thing I learned about in ms. waughs class was the coat of arms. Coat of arms is something people would get printed on their shields or armor so that their army would not attack them or a family symbol to represent their heritage. Coat of arms has to do with me because of my family. Every family has their own coat of arms so me and my family to have one. You can receive a coat of arms from your personality or your
It is important to define the term bullying accurately because that term alone can be adversarial. With that being said it can mean intimidation, aggression, hostile behaviors, and pestering the weak. Bullying takes place in schools, work, and in your own home. It can pretty much happen anywhere. Bullying in my terms is anything that can make a person feel weak minded, and has to submit.
Bullying is such a difficult topic to grab a hold of. Children may experience bullying and not say it to their parents. Parents may suspect something wrong with their children but don’t know how to pro[per address the issue. I was bullied a lot. I remember being smashed against a locker in 7th grade. My brother was bullied during this middle school and high school years. Yet, my brother learned martial arts as a way to defense. However, I was more of an resorted in listening to music and keep all my emotions to myself. I learned over the years the power of speaking out and having a great support system.
According to the American Psychological Association, “Bullying is a form of aggressive behavior in which someone intentionally and repeatedly causes another person injury or discomfort. Bullying can take the form of physical contact, words or more subtle actions” (Bullying, 2013). People bully each other for several reasons and there are different outcomes that are a result of those reasons. People can be bullied physically, emotionally, or verbally. Bullying can take place at school or online. Bullying should be a considered a crime, but kids get away with it all the time; furthermore prevention can be used in order to keep kids safe from bullying.
Bullying is very bad and because of this about 160,000 of 13,000,000 kids stay home so they don’t get bullied by anyone. Also out of that 13 million 2,000 commit suicide because of the harsh bullying. Since many kids around the world are being bullied schools have been starting an anti-bullying system which brings bullies down by 15%. When kids reported bullying 80% of it is name calling, 39% is hitting or shoving, 38% is threats, 29% is rumor spreading, etc. Everyone should always remember one rule and that is the golden rule, the golden rule is to treat others how they want to be treated, but some bullies just don’t understand so they make everyone feel bad about themselves.
Are you a victim, a bystander, do you stand up? They’ve hurt you mentally, physically, and you’ve finally had enough of it. Either way, you can help. Bullying is something that is repetitive over time, and has to do with 2 people and one usually has the upper hand. Mostly, between a popular and unpopular kid. As a student in Jerling Junior High I was bullied and was known to be a bully. I was bullied for a whole year by my best friend. I was known to be a bully to my good friend. In the end, we all made up and went our own ways. I researched middle school bullying because it is a huge problem and I learned how different types of bullying happens in school, how some kids believe that harming themselves is a solution, and even how teachers get bullied, not just students.
A majority of bullying takes place during our elementary or in high school.. Peer pressure is reported to be a frequent reason as to why students feel the need to bully their peers. Many people have experienced bullying in some way throughout their lifetime. Some people were victims of bullying, while others were the ones doing the bullying, or in some cases, they were both. It isn’t rare to hear that
One of the many identities I classify with, is my European heritage. I have always loved reading about medieval, reformation, enlightened, and Victorian Europe. My favorite subject throughout my childhood schooling was always history. Congruently, I enjoy having the knowledge that my ancestral family lived through major European historical events; the Irish Potato Famine, the coronation of Queen
Bullying is a universal problem. Bullying happens when he or she uses their force, or threat to abuse or intimidate others, it’s used repeatedly and it becomes habitual. Bullying may happen because of rationalizing someone that has a different race, religion, gender, appearance, behavior, personality, reputation, strength, size, or ability. There are
Coat of arms were very popular in the medieval ages. It was used by royalty and non-royalty. Coat of arms were usually a shield decorated with a bunch of different symbols that had different meanings, and every family had a different coat of arms. Coat of arms were used by knights when they did a joust or fought in battle. After a while though people started using them for decoration.
With school-aged children, bullying more frequently happens while they are at school, or afterward when the students are not being supervised by their teacher in places like the cafeteria, bus, lockers, playground or neighborhood. Now that kids have access to online technology, bullying can also happen on the internet. With this in mind, teachers must now research and understand what bullying is, and develop methods to help fight against bullying. Bullying is the aggressive, unwanted behavior that occurs between kids of all ages. Children that bully are using the power they believe they have over other kids to try to control and harm them. Bullying can happen via verbal, social, or physical abuses, such as name-calling, threats, spreading rumors, isolation, embarrassment, spitting, hitting, destroying personal things, etc. In order to be considered bullying, these bad behaviors are repeated over time.
My Coat Of Arms reflects upon my identity. It is easy to talk about the ways I got better at playing the drums or how my family has been involved with the Army for the last 8 years and how I’m tolerant of the majority of things, how I’m a good leader, how I’m kind, and what obstacles I faced and conquered to become who I am today.
During the Middle Ages, many families used a coat of arms to represent themselves in different aspects of their lives. The coat of arms could consist of different colors, symbols, and many other things. An anonymous individual once said, “Tell a lie once and all your truths become questionable,” and I chose to include this quote in my coat of arms. This quote means a lot to me, as I believe being truthful is the key to success, and it is the motto I live by. The purple background is meant to symbolize my favorite color, and purple can also mean creativity. With those two meanings, I believe it was a good color to use as I like to be creative as well. As a result, my coat of arms has a lot of symbolism in it.
Bullying is happening everywhere and the chances that you will encounter it are high. Around the world bullying is big particularly within schools and online in cyber space.
Some people believe that bullying is only seen on television or in the movies but it is a real life issue that is seen and experienced by many every day. People of all ages, races, cultures and backgrounds are affected. There are some who are embarrassed to report bullying but it occurs every day, everywhere. It is important to learn about and understand what causes people to be bullies, as well as understand the effects that being bullied can have on a person. It is important for people to understand all sides of bullying, from the signs of someone being bullied to what you can do to prevent it.
What appears to be bullying is not always bullying. There is this misconception that when someone disagrees with another person or is hurtful towards that person, bullying always seems to be what they say is going on. Although statistics shows that one in four kids are bullied, all aggressive actions are not bullying. If a person has self-esteem and self confidence in themselves and not let others tear you down the imbalance of power is balanced. Bullies have more power over their victims and always want to be on top. They enjoy displaying the power they have over their victim.
