Rabia is open to true analysis by others, which is the purpose of Colin Miller and Susan Simpson in the Undisclosed podcast. Colin Miller and Susan Simpson, are the main characters in Undisclosed, so the Undisclosed podcast should come out as super biased. Rabia admits: “I do believe Adnan is innocent, but I’m open to objective analysis by others, and I’m glad to have Susan Simpson and Colin Miller here because they are going to be providing that.” This also explains why she does not describe her belief of Adnan as the community’s golden child, and rather she focuses on the main stories, details, and nuances of the case, and proves that the case does not come together. Undisclosed provides a true analysis, and does not provide an emotional
Being determined means that you can reach and strive for anything, even if your not strong or smart enough. Both Althea Gibson and Barbara Jordan share many things, but best of all is the fact that they are very successful African-American women. But of course, what makes them so successful? Both woman strived for success to be great African-Americans who have accomplished many things. Although they can compare to be great African American role models, they may also compare to their determination. This is true but they may also differ, they both are very successful but their achievements are completely different.
The phenomenological approach is considered holistic, not reductionist. The method is an effort to understand religion and to accurately describe what religious people think there doing. Cunningham and Kelsay insist, “At its simplest, a phenomenological approach leads to an effort to understand religious thought and behavior from the point of view of religious persons.” This means that if a person says that a certain object is sacred, we start to believe them that the object is sacred because of our human conscious. The goal of the method is to attempt to understand the sacred because it is the spirit of religion. One of the elements of religion explained by Cunningham and Kelsay is action. Action is how people behave and it shows the
Further, inconsistencies in a case should never be ignored, and for Jay, his story is full of them; because of this, Jay is an unreliable witness and cannot be depended on to tell the truth. There are many problems with Jay’s stories he tells, like Sarah Koenig says, “… the stories about where he is are so messy and so confusing that I can't even keep the different versions straight.” (Koenig 4) For example: “In the first taped interview, Jay says they're grabbing some food at a restaurant when Officer Adcock calls Adnan asking if he's seen Hae. The next time he tells it, he says that when that call comes, they're at a friend's apartment – a friend whose father happens to be a homicide detective in another county.” (Koenig 4) That doesn’t seem
The Serial podcast, hosted by Sarah Koenig, is about the murder of young Woodlawn High School student Hae Min Lee. Hae was a smart, ambitious, and outgoing young lady taken from this world too soon. Sarah Koenig and the podcast takes us through the ins and outs of typical and unusual teenager behavior to try and uncover something unseen in this case. Adnan Syed, the now convicted murder, and Jay Wilds, the state’s only witness, are the key people of this story. I believe Adnan’s innocence should be maintained because Jay’s story should not have been used for evidence, there was not enough evidence to even arrest Adnan, and Adnan had a trustworthy alibi.
Adnan Syed is accused of murdering his ex-girlfriend, and various factors present him as a very likely suspect. Information put together by the state don’t add up, but instead prove he is innocent. Is Adnan guilty or innocent for his ex-girlfriend’s death? In the Serial Podcast, journalist Sarah Koenig discusses the case, committed almost seventeen years ago, and uncovers new evidence that indicates Adnan’s innocence. Adnan Syed has been viewed as a boyfriend, honor roll student, and a murderer. Many described him as a smart, flirtatious, and a likable high schooler. On January 13, 1999, his ex-girlfriend, Hae Min Lee, was murdered. Investigators immediately assumed Adnan as the primary suspect because Hae had broken up with him, a month
I was honestly really surprised with how Jacqueline and Tyler worked on these problems. Overall they figured them out and were able to understand each concept. After working with the Del- Ciotto family for nearly six months now I have come to the conclusion that I am working with very intelligent, logic thinkers. Overall I believe I am working with two formal operational students who can understand and grasp the concept of conservation. Both student did very well and it was interesting to be the instructor being able to help them solve these problems individually.
Just as he had said, he was the truth about not being involved, but when questioned about knowing anything about the murder, he was hesitant to answer. After a few seconds of silence, he firmly answered no. He was lying. He was furthermore questioned about knowing anything of the murder; motives, suspects, and accomplices. An hour passed of rigorous questioning, and yet, he still didn’t admit anything.
“… to gather news it is often necessary to agree either not to identify the source of information published or to publish only part of the facts revealed, or both; that if the reporter is nevertheless forced to reveal these confidences to a grand jury, the source so identified and other confidential sources of other reporters will be measurably deterred from furnishing publishable information, all to the detriment of the free flow of information, protected by the first amendment.” (3)
Danny Saunders and Reuven Malters could not be more different in appearance. Following Hasidic traditions, Danny had long earlocks, wore a tzitzit, and wore shoes with a metal bottom. Also, by he is in college his beard is full-grown. The only aspect, appearance wise, that the boys had in common in the beginning of the story were their black skullcaps. Reuven had always worn glasses, but after spending countless years reading every chance he got, Danny needed them too. The stress caused by the reading and from the pressures of his family became too much on his eyes and they started to turn red and develop bags underneath them. As the firstborn son, Danny had known, for as long as he could remember, that he was to take his father’s place as tzaddik and lead his own congregation. But Danny knew that he did not belong up on a podium preaching, just like Reuven knew that he was not meant to be a math professor. Reuven’s father, David, was one of his best friends. He talked to him
Alicia Appleman-Jurman grew up in the city of Buczacz, Poland. On September 1, 1938, Germany invaded Poland. This event was soon known as the blitzkrieg of September 1, 1939. When this event happened, Alicia was only a 9-year-old. During the Holocaust, Alicia was not only a child, but she was a young girl who survived, saved lives, and fought back, which was a very difficult task.

The aim of this essay is to demonstrate the assessment process of a patient using the Roper Logan and Tierney (RLT) model of nursing framework and to show how the nursing process works alongside this model. This will be shown by a holistic history of the patient being shown, followed by how the RLT model is applicable to this patient. This is then followed by one nursing intervention being discussed showing how the nursing process is applied to patient care. The patient will be referred to as Mr Frederick Valentine to protect the patient’s anonymity as stated in the Nursing and Midwifery Council Code of Conduct (2008) guidelines.
Book selection #3 (from the JBHS Summer Reading List): The Big Short (1) There are countless themes, characters, and plots of The Big Short that I could discuss but the personalities described by Michael Lewis were, to me, the most interesting part of the book. Michael Burry, a Hedge Fund Manager from California, was the first person to short the Housing Market. He is awkward, with Aspergers and a glass eye, but as it turns out, a brilliant money manager.
Edwin Locke and Gary Latham will be the first ones to openly admit there are active limitations with the goal setting theory. It is not uncommon for individual goals to conflict with organizational goals. Moreover, research has proven complex goals have sparked motivation in teams to implement strategies with substantially high amounts of risk (Knight, Durham, & Locke, 2001). Sometimes people will believe higher risk strategies produce the greatest returns, yet high-risk goals consistently result in failure as well (Knight et. al, 2001). Additionally, when individuals simultaneously create two goals there is a greater chance they exert too much energy and focus on achieving just one of those goals. This can lead to one of the goals not receiving enough attention, which can potentially result in the person failing to reach the end result in either goal. In short, these are three common limitations of goal setting that typically draw concerns from other researchers and theorists. However, it is important people are aware of the limitations that do not receive as much attention, such as team goal setting, unethical behavior in high performance goals, and subconscious goals.
