Throughout my educational career, I gained the teaching of 32 magnificent teachers, even so, just two ever genuinely inspired my work, and strived to know my being as an equal, as a fellow. I have always attained the status amongst exceptional students, and time was on my side, it seemed, when I met one of the utmost inspirational teachers I have had the tremendous pleasure of learning from, Mrs. Leah Tucker, my art teacher, who taught me not only who artists were, or how to draw or paint, for three stupendous years of my schooling career; suddenly 8th grade came around, I was acquainted with Mr. Bevis, who has the probability of being one of the best English teachers, and inspirations I may ever have. Fortunately, bits of both of their teachings
My life has been an ongoing stuggle, but my hard work, determination, and enthusiasm for my education have enabled me to pursure my dreams. My academic plans are to major in pre-occupational therapy. After graduating and completing the prerequisite, I plan to obtain a license in Occupational Therapy by attending OT School. Success does not come from a pay check. For me, helping and assisting others acheive their goals is the purest form of success. I want to travel and eventually settle down in my hometown. My overall career goal is to give back to the community that shaped me into the person I am. I am a hardworking-dedicated student, who focuses on my work, yet I have always enjoyed being involved in extracirricular activities. As you can see from my application, I enjoy sports and clubs. In the following year, I plan to get deeper involved
Something that make me smile, gets me excited, makes me do something is softball. I have played ball all since the day I could walk. I started off playing baseball since I was 2 years old. Then at age 8 I went on to play softball for a select softball team in Pearland. Playing softball has always made me smile! I love the intensity, excitement, and the teamwork that is used to play ball. We all look out for each other and try to pick each other up even when we are not all in the spirit. Some activities that involve science, technology, engineering, and math that I find to be fun is robotics and underwater robotics. Robotics has always been a big part in my life because my dad is a robotics teacher for this school and I always loved playing
I was always different from the other kids in my class. I was reserved and quiet. Most would tell me that I always look like I was in deep thought. Well that's because I was. I always thought that I thought deeper and viewed the world differently than other people my age. I had a great interest in people, in fact they fascinated me. I greatly enjoyed meeting new people and listening to their life or things they like. So I guess one could say my interest in Anthropology dates back to grade school. History was always my best subject, I would always sit at the front of the class "bright eyed and bushy tailed". But I especially loved when they talked about different civilizations of people and the thing they did. When it was time to decide where I wanted to go to college and
There is an African proverb that says, "If you wish to move mountains tomorrow, you must start by lifting stones today." I believe I am the youngest in my graduating class, a high school senior at the age of fifteen. I have lifted stones to reach where I am now, ahead of others my age. My mountains have yet to come. I was two years old when I began reading. By the time I was five and in kindergarten, I was reading at a third-grade reading level and knew how to write my first name in cursive. My teacher noticed this, and called my parents. Consequently, it was decided I would go to first grade. I embraced it, though it was foreign to me; skipping a grade sounded exciting. I moved from my birth state, New York, across the country to Tennessee
“Winning is important to me, but what brings me real joy is the experience of being fully engaged in whatever I’m doing.” - Phil Jackson
The next chapter in my life has always been a mystery to me. In fact, every time someone asks me what college I want to go to, or what I want to do when I’m older, my entire body tenses and I forget how to breathe. Don’t get me wrong, I know I want to go to college, and am excited to move out; however, having to pick the one school that will have the one major that will lead to the job that I will have for the rest of my life is intimidating. Especially when I don’t exactly know what my interests are. This question causes my throat to close up because I know that my interests don’t necessarily lead to a carrier, choosing a college is extremely stressful, and I want to be successful and live the best life that I can. In order to avoid a panic attack while I write this essay, I need to focus on the immediate future: my highschool career, and more specifically, this school year.
In fall of 2017, I will be attending college. I’m not quite sure where precisely, but when I do arrive on campus, I will not be alone. I will carry the weight of my mother’s ambitions with me.
College is the first step in a student’s life in the transition from being a kid into adulthood. As a young child, I had always had 1-2 careers in mind I would like to pursue. My interest in everything finance came early. Each and every Christmas for about 4 straight years I would ask for a toy ATM. My impression at the time is that I would get “unlimited money”. When I finally got one, I would not let go of it. My interest in money didn’t stop there. I was always curious about the way money works and the how the Federal Reserve incorporates and controls it. My interests led me to frequent trips to Washington, D.C. to see the Federal Reserve Bank and other landmarks such as the Capitol and even the White House. I actually discovered and gained
A sharp murmur echoed in my ears as my pencil scribbled across my paper. I was working rapidly on my essay, attempting to perfect my edits. My pencil kept running along, and the murmur finally grew to a voice, stunting me from my progress. I finally looked up, into the face of a classmate, looking annoyed, asking, “What do we edit?”. I responded with the exact directions our teacher had given us, and went back to my writing. By the end of class, I was the only student finished with my essay, and had time left to do as I pleased. As I was getting out my headphones to watch a video or two on my phone, I heard my friend’s familiar voice, “Yeah, Bailee looks done of course. She loves work. It’s all she ever does.” I was momentarily proud of my reputation as a hard worker, until her words sank in: others thought I was a cold overachiever.
Each morning I wake up and I put on my uniform. As I lace my boots and fix my collar, I ask myself why I put this uniform on every morning. My answers vary by day, but it all comes down to responsibility. A seemingly specific answer can actually be quite broad. I fulfill a duty responsibility to myself, my community, my country, and my world.
School has always been an important part in not only my parents lives but their children's.I learned that I can achieve anything I want if I believe in myself. I learn to challenge myself and never take anything for granted. I didn’t think I would have as many opportunities or support as I do now. I believe I am Dedicated, I try to do everything the best I can because I want to be my best self. Open minded, I accept different people’s perspective. Persistence, No matter how hard it is, I never give up.Focused, I put school before anything because of the important role it plays in my future.Determined, I’m willing to take every risk to achieve my ultimate goal, which is to be a nurse. Passionate, My passion for education will contribute greatly
For the longest time I could not decide on a major and a career to study throughout college. When I came to Georgia Southern University I discovered that they had a major that was very interesting to me. Sport Management id the ideal major for my interest and me. Since I love sports I figured that this would be the career for me. A degree in Sport Management helps to prepare for success in sport related occupations.
Considering ten years in the remote future, I only have a minuscule idea of what I could be doing. I hope to be graduated from the college of my choice, working at a job I love. As of now, I am interested in either becoming a teacher, working in Forensics, or doing something in the creative field.
I can remember the first time that I wanted to teach. I was around five years old and I sat my baby brother down and we played school. Of course I was the teacher and he was my less than attentive two year old student. I knew in my tiny five year old mind that this is what I wanted to do. I wanted to be a teacher.
