In life we are forced to go through things and overcome obstacles. My life hasn't been the easiest, I've always wanted to succeed in life and have a great future. My mom has always told me try my hardest no matter what life throws at you, and I really took that to heart. I always thought that if I didn't have wonderful grades, I was automatically stupid. Ive struggled a lot in my academics but overcame those struggles and became content with them eventually.
Math has to be one of the main things I have struggled with in my life
Ever since 8th grade I have always wanted to be that “A Student” that everyone knows. Unless you are someone special, you are going to have to work for having a title of being that “A student” I felt like I was that one dumb kid that always took forever to finish their test because they didn't know how to do anything, It completely broke my self esteem. Having great grades is not a given thing, you have to work for everything in life. Nothing in this world is free and I didn't really learn that until this year. To get great grades you will most likely have to stay up late studying, which causes stress from the lack of sleep. School isn't easy for everyone especially

I have high aspirations upon receiving a diploma and I feel that your school is an excellent select to reach my fullest potential. It is more to me than simply experiencing the college life as I will be the first person in my family to attend any type of college and I hope to make my supporting family proud. I come from a Spanish speaking family thus I have learned to speak English and Spanish fluently. I am honored to possess these abilities because it allows me to maneuver with ease among the various communities and also break the language barriers acting as an interpreter. Due to various factors my parents and family member were not able to finish their education to compensate for the lack of education my family proceeded through life with hard work. This hard work has been a value instilled to us through the generations. With this I have surpassed obstacles that many of my peers doubted I would ever overcome. Graduating college is another goal I will accomplish to prove many wrong.
In my personality assessment I found that I over analyze things and I tend to over think and this is where I make the most mistakes because I do not always learn from my mistakes. I tend to do things over and over again not realizing I am doing it. I am also not very good at accepting change and I am working hard on this in my everyday life. When I get comfortable and someone takes me out of my warm and fuzzy place my mind is like scrambled eggs. What I do is sit think about the positive things that can happen and write it down to try to put myself at ease. My life factors I would have to say I have issues asking for help, I tend
Michael Jordan once said, “I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.” Through the years in my life, I have made myself refer back to this saying several times whenever I fail at something. One time, however, is more significant than all of the others.
Who am I personally, after 50 years of being me, I am still a work in progress. I grew up in a tiny ski resort town, on the Appalachian Mountains, in New Jersey. My father grew up in New Jersey, but my mother is from Havana Cuba. My father never graduated from High School, but my mother did. They did not believe in higher education, especial for girls. They wanted us to get married and start a family, I always knew that was not for me. So I followed my dreams and traveled the world. Meeting exciting, educated people all along the way, my travels showed me all the things that I had been missing out on living in a tiny town. By traveling, I learned how to live independently, be frugal, and enjoy life, that is what made me a strong woman. My weakness is, that I wear my heart on my sleeve, I am temperamental, and no confidant.
Goals are set so people have a purpose and something they strive to succeed. They help people decide what to do in the present, in order to achieve their future goal; I know that helped me. Going to college and graduating is the first goal that comes to mind. Furthering my education is important to me, the more education I receive in the field I am going into the better off I will be. Family is the most important thing to me, so starting one of my own is a big goal of mine too.
Growing up in a developing nation might be a good thing for someone with ambition - is a fact I realized at the age of 16 as soon as I had failed in 6 subjects at school. Ever since that great fall, I have come to believe in the power a challenging life. I believe in the transformational energy that lies within us all. To me, the true recipe of success consists of work, gut, and willpower. Currently, I am majoring in Marketing at School of Business and Economics, North South University, where my academic performance is smooth. However, I find the greatest confidence in my ability to convert learning into execution.
Everyone has a chance to do something remarkable in their life. At one point, everyone stops living (which is unfortunate), and what they leave behind becomes their legacy.
My struggles with self-confidence began at an early age. Usually, People perceived me as the quiet, unobtrusive person in my close group of peers. Even in my family, I am apt to be more reserved than my parents and siblings. While my older brother devoted hours to playing deafening video games and my sister spent time with her friends, I withdrew to my room to draw or read. Occasionally, my grandmother would forget I was even in the house. There have been numerous misunderstandings within the house that have contributed to my bashful nature. Several of the disagreements resulted in my mother and older siblings yelling and not listening to each other. Although I considered the discord a reason to recoil and be soft-spoken, I learned the valuable
Every year more than 60% of students in community college are required to take reading, writing or most of the time math developmental courses (D, Hooker, 2011). According to the National Center for Education Statistics only 32% of high school graduates’ have college academic level (Betting, Long 2013). Developmental Education was described as “a comprehensive process that focuses on the intellectual, social, and emotional growth and development of all students” (D, Hooker, 2011). As a result, developmental courses were designed for new college students as a tool to assist them to improved their reading, writing and math skills and eventually be able to complete college level courses (Betting, Long 2013).
According to a Thomas Nelson Web site, only 15.7 percent of students were able to complete their degree in 2010. This statistic is shocking because not many students are graduating. I am attending Thomas Nelson now in a two-year program. In addition, I hope I will be part of the 15.7 percent who graduates and earns my degree in two years. Although college is difficult, I will be successful by seeking advice from experts and by developing effective strategies for success.
“Success is not only a goal it is a journey. When you commit yourself to the journey, the goal is surely to be attained.” When someone reads this quote what do they think of? They think of someone trying to get through law school, a woman trying to raise a child, or maybe a musician who wants to be famous one day. But I doubt they thought of a girl, a sophomore, who is taking on a sport she never thought she’d do. I doubt they thought of that girl struggling to fit in, struggling to do the sport she has to come to love so. I doubt they thought of her telling herself to let go, or else she’d never catch that flag. That girl often tells herself that, even now that she’s so confident in herself and her connection to the sport. Despite her being so happy with herself and her sport, she still feels lonely, she still struggles to fit in.
A time in my life when I attempted to fulfill my dreams or reach a goal was when I tried to achieve getting straight A’s. It all started when I started to want to go play college baseball. I set this goal because I know that I need to get superb grades to get a scholarship for college. Getting excellent grades will help me get into a good college. Achieving this goal was essential, and I was able to accomplish this goal by listening. Listening to the teacher makes getting perfect grades very simple. When I eventually got my 4.0 GPA, it made me feel extremely thrilled. Striving for this goal taught me that I will not ever give up on my goals. Having good grades is important if I want to get into a good college. If I can maintain
People who have this theme are dedicated to the tasks and work hard to finish the goals. They are energetic and productive all the time, and enjoy the positive outcomes they have achieved.
When it comes to school, academic success is vitale to learning and being successful in college. How students are involved during college effect’s their success in school greatly. The more a student is involved, the more invested and interested they will be. Therefore I think that the school should encourage engagement with activities, and their peers. I believe that campus involvement would improve student success here at Maple Woods because it develops productivity, and general interest and pride in our school.
Success is to fulfil a goal that you have set for yourself. Achievement of success involves five components: realisation, confidence, motivation, action and perseverance. Step one is to realise your goal and how to achieve it. Step two is to have the confidence to take the steps towards your goal. Step three is to find motivation to keep you on the path towards you goal. Step four is action, the first physical step you take in the process for success. Step five is perseverance. On the road to success, you will most definitely come to setbacks and struggles. The only way to conquer those things and achieve your goal is to have strong perseverance. As David Brink said, "A successful person is one who
