How would you define academic readiness?
Honestly I am not sure, I will say I have not been in school for over 10 years and I am very freaked out at that. I will give my all and use as many resources that I can to succeed. I have been looking all over all the tools available that are out there for help and this is awesome. This is a great school as far as I have seen. I have never had as much help in college before. I have two learning styles that tied. It would be thinking and watching. I knew I was a visual learner but found more about myself that I have imagined. I learned that I like to think while learning and analyzing what is being taught. I am very much a visual learner, when I am in a classroom setting I need to see what we are doing not just a lecture. When its just a lecture my mind wanders and I do not get what was being taught. I only wished more instructors/teachers taught visually. I know this is a weakness of mine so I am going to work on this the best to my ability. This was a very awesome assignment to do I think it helps me understand myself better and I can also, understand others as well better.
What are two obstacles you might need to overcome (refer to your Life Factors and personality assessments)?
In my personality assessment I found that I over analyze things and I tend to over think and this is where I make the most mistakes because I do not always learn from my mistakes. I tend to do things over and over again not realizing I am doing it. I am also not very good at accepting change and I am working hard on this in my everyday life. When I get comfortable and someone takes me out of my warm and fuzzy place my mind is like scrambled eggs. What I do is sit think about the positive things that can happen and write it down to try to put myself at ease. My life factors I would have to say I have issues asking for help, I tend
Success is a word that really hard to define, because everyone will have a different definition for this word. In fact, there no exact definition for the word "success". For a student, maybe the success means to pass all courses of the semester; for a business man, signing a importance contract and get a lot of money are successes; and for a president, leading the country to develop and make the people have a better life are success. For me, I also have my own definition for the word "success". When I was a kid, I really want to be a scientist, but after I become mature, my thinking has become more mature and my definition of success also
A third challenge I will be facing is time management. One of my most important roles in life is being a mother and a wife. Even though my family is very supportive of my decision to go back to school, I recognize that I must set aside time to share with them. I have set up a weekly calendar helping me

a. Explain what your actual or perceived role, responsibilities and boundaries are as a teacher in terms of the teaching cycle. Why are these necessary?
It seems in the society we live in today, having a college degree is a necessity. Years ago it was the norm for people to just go right into a full time job after high school, if they even finished high school; they did this to support their families. In today’s society a person has a difficult time getting a decent job without a college degree. During an adults working life, bachelor degree graduates will earn about $2.1 million and a high school graduate can expect to earn an average of $1.2 million (Day and Newburger, 2002). This is quite a difference and it puts a college education in
There are so many elements that go into academic excellence in graduate school. However, a person can overcome any obstacle that hinders them from giving it their all by merely setting goals and following them. As for myself, the best possible way that I could manage my life stressors as well as my time management is to apply what I already know. If I could keep my mind focused through setting academic goals for success and sticking to them with skills that I have developed for myself in the past I could easily become not only a great writer, but also
Based on my personal inventory evaluation check list I have a combination of learning styles. I am a visual and kinesthetic learner. I definitely learn best when I am taught new information with some type of picture or visual. Also, having the hands on experience I feel helps me to retain information better. I tend to watch a lot of educational videos online because I feel it helps me to process the information and prepare for exams better. During exams I try visualize the
Written communication is the design of clear concise writing, meaning the organization of the paper is structured in a clear incisive manner. Written communication helps to preserve our thoughts or feelings. We tend to use this form of writing to reminisce with others, whether it be a family member, loved one, or general audience. Being able to express those feelings through written communication allows for capturing the memory, and setting the mood of the message being conveyed.
How can some people struggle when they have a degree from a quality institution, while others can be successful without a college degree or in a field unrelated to their degree? In my opinion, it’s because a college education doesn’t guarantee success. Success is up to many other factors that college often does not teach. I believe that certification tests would be a better replacement for the BA, because they would separate the students with the will and determination from those who are just coasting their way through their courses. Having other forms of means like certification tests would better implement employers with the important resources in determining whether or not applicants for any given job position hold the best
There are several qualities to have to be successful in college. These qualities can range from attending class to going above and beyond what’s expected. Success comes from the journey taken or the path chosen. Success also comes from being prepared. As a student, I must step up to the challenge and find the path to success along the way. Several ways I define success is to uphold academic integrity, have the ability to prioritize, and to motivate myself to stay on top of what needs to be accomplished.
Life as a university student can be tough, but to make sure you get your money and times worth out of it you need to know how to be a successful student. Being a successful student requires a combination of attending your classes, doing your homework, and monitoring your level of stress. This may not sound too hard, but once you are in the moment and need to juggle all of these things along with all of the other responsibilities and challenges life entails it may begin to seem like a much more difficult task.
Throughout my academic career, it has always been my mission to perform at my best ability. I did this not only for myself, but also for my family and friends who put their faith in my capacity to achieve success. It was my family that raised me to be family-oriented and to give my spare time to those that may need my help. By applying for the Delta Epsilon Sigma Honor Society, I am continuing to strive for the highest level of excellence possible in academics and service to the community.
Success is to fulfil a goal that you have set for yourself. Achievement of success involves five components: realisation, confidence, motivation, action and perseverance. Step one is to realise your goal and how to achieve it. Step two is to have the confidence to take the steps towards your goal. Step three is to find motivation to keep you on the path towards you goal. Step four is action, the first physical step you take in the process for success. Step five is perseverance. On the road to success, you will most definitely come to setbacks and struggles. The only way to conquer those things and achieve your goal is to have strong perseverance. As David Brink said, "A successful person is one who
