Throughout my childhood I grew up with encouraging parents who constantly reminded me that I could grow up to be anything I wanted as long as I tried hard enough. They told me that I could do something tremendous such as colonizing mars, which as a kid seemed like something I could do. Progressing from elementary school to middle school was when I realized the world was vast; becuase of the substantial competition, I found myself facing the truth, there are limits on growing up to be anything. Whether I shall turn out to be the hero of my own life, or whether that station will be held by anybody else, these lines must show.

This woman inspired myself and my siblings to be who we are now. To fight hard for what they want and what it takes to get it. This person is not only a brave hero to many, but she is a loving mother of mine. Her name is Zejna and she is not quite the person who is known for the simplest things, but she is known for who she is. She has beautiful green eyes that match her oval face and rosy cheeks that show the enthusiasm she has for everything. My mother always was the person to help out others and those in need because she knows how it feels like to get something from others. She always had the impression of others as hard working, kind, and loyal. One of the things she says to her children of advice is, “All can happen if it’s wanted.” Whenever there is a lack of participation of some sort, she will say this exact thing to bring your confidence up.

   My Mom is a single mother of 4 and a big role model. She has taught me a lot about my culture and our families past. She has also taught me a lot of life lessons and molded me into the guy I am. As she did to my brother and sisters. But she also pushed me to learn about other cultures.

My mom taught me lots of important lessons when I was younger. We went through a lot of hard times and through it all she was there for me and my brother. My parents divorced, we had to move, switch schools, and move to different states. Even though there were many changes we tried not to complain because we knew our mom was doing everything she could to get us through. She tried to be positive and make the best out of our situation.

She may not have a hot shot job that pays a high income or is able to buy designer clothes, but nevertheless she has defeated hardships that most would not be able to. Moreover, my dear mother has been burdened mental predicaments. Unfortunately, she has been diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder and a few other disorders. Though in this unfortunate situation, she has not let it affect her negatively anymore and she has come out strong. That still amazes me to this day. Then next, my mother raised my two older sisters and myself practically on her own. She has assistance from my grandmother, of course, but for the most of it she was alone. She raised us well, despite being mostly alone. Last, but definitely not least, mother has defeated many physical difficulties. She suffers from Fibromyalgia and has gone through several catastrophes. She has ended on top in spite of all her troubles. Altogether, my mother is immensely successful even if she does not think

My mother has affected my life by inspiring me to have a dream, to work hard, and to never give up.

She instills morals in me that were passed down to her for her parents. I have learned to pursue my dreams and never sell myself short of what I can be. My mom pushes me to do my best as all times, especially with academics. Without the extra pressure from my mom, I would not be able to continue maintaining my 4.0. I am grateful to have a parent who cares about my future potential as much as my mom does. When I am having a bad day, or going through a rough time, I have found that my mom often has the best advice for me. I know that she will never leave my side and has my best interests in mind. Friends have come and gone recently in my life, but my mom is one person I can count on and talk to about these situations. My mother has always been my biggest support and my toughest critic in life. She has always encouraged me to follow my childhood dream of becoming an artist. She has inspired me to work hard, solve problems and never settle. With her “Don’t feel sorry for yourself”, “If you want it, do it”, and “If you’re unhappy, change it” attitude. This kind of love, support and honesty is something only your mother or southern grandmother can give, and I thank her for that. Throughout my life there have been many different people who have influenced me to do the precise thing and have made a tremendous impact on my life and where I am at today. A hero can be interpreted in a variety of unalike ways and by a various amount of people, but the single and most important person who I consider to be a hero to myself would be my grandfather, Theodore Brown.
