Decision Analysis
Introduction: An important decision that I have had to make recently is making the decision of what college I will be attending after I finish here at Blue River. Deciding on what college to attend next involves a few things; it involves more than one good option, uncertainty or chance to the outcomes of each option, and contains balance. Picking a college is a hard decision. Choosing the right college for someone has several things to think about when deciding where you will finish school, such as the school being to far or to close to home, does it have the major you want to study, what’s the food like, are you playing a sport while attending school, tuition, along with several other factors. The things that are most important to me when deciding on the next college are tuition, soccer team, good financial aid options and if they have the major of sports management.
Fully explain situation, all aspects of it that are relevant: Finding a new school is a difficult task, there are many things to consider and factor into the process of making a decision. The cost of school, the major you will be studying, food, housing, participation in

This statement is an example of a fallacies of probability. A fallacy of probability is an invalid argument. Such an argument is invalid when the interference from the premises set to the conclusion violates the laws of probability. Representative bias in my decision of deciding a college could be; what is the probability that everyone who lives a certain distance from their parents ends up figuring out who they are as a person. This is a representative bias because it represents success to you and what you have been told to succeed on being away from
People attend college or university for several reasons, including exploring hundreds of career opportunities, pursuing their passions, learning critical thinking skills, and achieving their maximum potential. According to Dr. Richard Vedder’s, “For Many, College Isn’t Worth It”, attending college or university is not worth the time, effort, or money – Dr. Richard Vedder wants to solely focus resources on private universities and institutions. Vedder describes how many graduates with Bachelor’s degrees do not even obtain jobs in their specific field and how they will never start a career in their area of academic study. In his article, Richard Vedder describes how there should be more stringent standards placed on college undergraduates; he believes that public universities are not necessary and only private, more elite universities should remain operational. I personally believe that obtaining a college degree from an accredited university is worth the risk and the money, not only for one’s self but for society as a whole. Instead of shutting down undergraduate universities, we should consider raising collegiate admission standards throughout the nation.
Every year, high school graduates are faced with the decision to further their education or not. If they choose to do so, they are then faced with the decision to go to a two-year or four-year college. There are many factors that come in to play when deciding between them including sports, cost, flexibility, and location, education, and student activities. Understanding the differences and similarities between a two-year and four-year institution is necessary for each individual to make the best decision for their education.
The University of Oklahoma is a four year Division 1 public university located in Norman, Oklahoma, and is home to the Sooners; “Boomer Sooner”. The University of Oklahoma’s Womens Softball team won the 2015 Women’s College Softball World Series, and their football team is ranked 1st in the Big 12 rankings. Kansas State University is a four year Division 1 public university located in Manhattan, Kansas, and is home to the Wildcats; “EMAW - Every Man A Wildcat”. Kansas State University has just recently added a new Women’s Soccer program! I have a 3.4 GPA, I participate in Link Crew which is a program offered at Campus High School that helps with freshman orientation, and basically helps many different freshmen sculpt/decide the path’s for their futures based on their decisions now in high school. I have played soccer for 13 years, and am currently playing club soccer at Sedgwick County Soccer Association for the ‘99 Wichita Cheetahs Elite, and I also play on the girls Varsity soccer team at Campus High School. Kansas State University is a better choice and fit because it is in-state, there are many degrees, and options to choose from, the acceptance rate is higher than the University of Oklahoma’s, and there are minimal standards on applying/enrollment requirements, and there are ways to earn many scholarships whether it be through academic scholarships or earning it through athletics, and the tuition and
Being in the middle of high school, I am thinking about my future more than ever now. I have made mostly A’s and B’s all of my life, so I will probably have the chance to go to a good college if I choose to do so. This decision will be one of the biggest decisions of my life, and I will need to put much thought and research into this decision. Early in my life, I began going to Clemson University football, baseball, and soccer games. For this reason, I am now a big Clemson fan, and I hope to go there for my college career. Another college I am interested in is Furman University. I have grown up most of my life living on the outskirts of Furman, and I have also been to many sports
As a senior in high school the time has come when people begin to ask big and sometimes overwhelming questions like, “Where are you going to college?” and “What will be your major?” These questions, of course, lead to college visits and decisions. The two colleges that seem to meet my criteria are The University of Findlay and Ohio Dominican University. Both colleges have positive aspects, such as having the major that I am interested in as well as being close to family. However, The University of Findlay seems to be a better fit than Ohio Dominican because it is closer to home and I am familiar with the campus and I grew up on this campus.
The decision making process on what college to attend can be stressful. For some, the deciding factor can be where they get the better offer for sports, such as Butler Community College, or where is closer to home, like Wichita State University. When the time comes to have this tough, and extremely long, process come into play, look at the pros and cons of the college choices and how each one can benefit life after college. What institution can you get out of as much as you put in? Which college has the degree completion plan you are wanting to pursue? These questions weighs in all incoming college students minds who strive for that goal of success that is a college degree. Despite bearing some minor similarities, the differences
When people hear the word “college”, many panic inside at the thought. But, when I hear the word “college” I think about Illinois State University. In early July, I attended an Open House at ISU for my very first official college visit. As I stepped onto campus, I couldn’t but help to feel like it was my future home. Many aspects of the tour made me draw nearer to choosing this college after finishing my High School career. Illinois State University seems to fit my personality very well, has an amazing program for what I want to study, and is an outstanding campus for my academic strengths and weaknesses.
Making the final college choice is a difficult decision for a student and his or her family. The final decision needs to be a balance between value and opportunity. I want to get the best opportunity for the best deal. This could be a better academic program in my major, more rigorous academics overall, a better location, internships, and a safer campus.
As seniors in high school, our minds are all about graduation and what the next step in our lives are going to be. Many students plan on going to college after they graduate; however, deciding what college to go to is one of the hardest decisions most seniors have to make. I have narrowed it down to two colleges, The University of Illinois and Southern Illinois University. After close examination of the factors of the history of the school, admission, tuition, campus, and academics, I decided rather then going to The University of Illinois I should attend Southern Illinois University.
The years go by to fast so choosing the colleges or universities is very important in our juniors years and senior years. It's better to be ready for college and have your future set go. Katy Hopkins “there more than one college you can go to” which is very true. There are a lot waiting and you can go too. Setting the pros and cons are very important to set for college, Katy Hopkins says “rank your priorities”. The college can help you with loans, Katy Hopkins says to “compare financial aid pages” which is right to find out the better college to help. Staying close to the college is very smart to do, safe gas and money Katy Hopkins says “go back to school” which is saying to stay close to it as you can.
Moving schools, moving schools is the hardest thing you could possibly ever do because your leaving everything you’ve known and everything you're used to, but at the same time it could be exciting because you get to experience a new community and most importantly new things. You have a new chance at starting over and meeting new people. Most people would say moving is the worst thing you could do but it isn't the worst thing you could do. In my opinion, I would say trying something new is the better choice just because it was for me. Moving schools was an absolute greater decision because I met amazing people and many people supported me until I felt comfortable at my new school. I never wanted to leave my loved ones and my other school but my mind changed and it was greatly astonishing.
People always say, “you’ll regret it if you don’t play.” Deciding on where to go to college for me is based on whether or not I want to play soccer. Greenville would be the place for me if I wanted to continue my soccer career. I have always dreamed about playing soccer in college and I’ve gotten offers to do that. My first offer that I got was from Greenville, I knew that I wanted to go there as soon as I met the team and I went on campus. There’s not many people on the campus, there’s not much to do in town, and they don’t have the major that I want. The negatives outweigh the positives in this situation because SIUE is also another choice. At SIUE though, I wouldn’t be playing soccer, but I would be one step closer there to study pharmacy and go to pharmacy which has also always been a dream of mine. In this situation, I think about what would be more important in the future.
I anticipate college to be a time of great learning and a multitude of new experiences. There is more learning to be done during college than in the classroom. I hope to attain many things in college by experiencing them and having to figure things out on my own. Along with the education in my desired career of dentistry, I plan to acquire a plethora of domestic skills, over the next few years. Additionally, it is evident that I must learn how to work in a high pressure environment.
Every year at the same time, thousands of students face the same difficult decision: What college should I attend? Consider two young men both of the highest intellectual capacity and deserving of admission into the nation's most prestigious institution. Steven, high school All American, student body President, and leader of the debate team, hopes to be admitted to the university of his dreams. Christopher, most valuable player in the high school division and aspiring NBA athlete, wants to attend college with students of the same caliber. Steven's parents are both successful neurosurgeons at the local hospital planning to see to it that their son is awarded recognition for his efforts. Christopher's mother, unemployed and unable to care
Having a good education is the key to becoming successful in life. It is a proven fact. This achievement requires not only graduating from high school, but also from college. Moving from high school to college may be an exciting transition, but it is also a very difficult one. It is a challenge that the student will struggle with and eventually adjust to over time. Although there are many differences between high school and college, one should not think that they are tow completely different worlds. They have their similarities, too.
