All members of the staff must act as professionals while at work, especially with young children. The administrative and teaching staff must work together to ensure their practices are developmentally appropriate, and share new and/or creative ideas with one another. It is also the responsibility of a teacher to establish an open, trusting relationship with the parents of each children in their care. Thus, parents can freely communicate their thoughts, concerns, and/or suggestions about their child or the program. Parent satisfaction is something that every child care or development center should strive for.

To maintain a commitment to professionalism I believe that you have to really enjoy what you are doing if you’re passionate about what you’re doing you will remain professional. In the future as an early childhood professional To remain professional I will stay alert ask question to make sure that I’m not behind, keep parents up to date on what will been going on, & what the children needs. I think that you should always have respect for not only yourself, the class, each student & parents.

This Council is statutorily required with a statutorily described method for appointment of members for the purpose of advising the department regarding Child Care services. The nominations and recommendations of the Department, the list of current and proposed members, a map including where current and proposed members reside, the statue describing the Council, information about and supporting documents for the nominees are included. All four are new appointments. Three represent child care providers and one represents a child care professional organization, child advocacy group, child care association or state agency which provides child care funding, education, or services.

Lifelong professionalism is an ongoing process in a professional’s career in which they build an effective professional image. Maintaining lifelong professionalism is important because it demonstrates to a potential or current employer that I am more than capable in my profession. According to Merriam-Webster’s online dictionary (2017), professionalism is “the skill, good judgment, and polite behavior that is expected to do a job well.” Medical professionals must possess occupational competence, ethical excellence, and exemplary patient relations. It has gotten to point where the word is spoken but barely ever defined. The importance of professionalism is increasing and in most cases has become detrimental to most careers, especially in health care. There are many barriers in the nursing profession. The many factors that contribute to these limitations have been noticed for centuries, such as the educational standards which were set forth by Isabel Hampton Robb in 1893. Robb set the standards of nursing education and formalized a curriculum (Black, 2014). Today we face several challenges and educational barriers. An important concept within the nursing profession that affects many is the issue of education.

Once mothers started going into to the workforce, the need for child care boomed. Approximately one-forth of children spend some time in child care. However, years later, it is rather hard to do the research necessary for an accurate assessment of its quality as a whole. There are three major types of nonparental child care; relative, non relative, and center based. Due to convenience and affordability, family-care (non-relative care) have started to rise in ranks in the industry. This leads to even more holes in overall research, due to the lack of consistent regulation. The policies regarding these regulations vary from state to state.

What does Professionalism mean to me? Professionalism in my term means it is someone who is very dedicated to their profession. It is an important and great decision to follow by the rules and ethics of professionalism. If we did not have anyone that cared about their profession it would cause a lot of problems in our society today. It could cause a lot of disruption in your workplace. In order to abide by professionalism you must take pride in your job, percieve realistic goals and values, and know what your expectations are.

The Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary defines professionalism as the conduct, aims, or qualities that characterize or mark a profession or a professional person. Yet the White Paper on Pharmacy Student Professionalism says it is displaying values, beliefs and attitudes that put the needs of another about your personal needs. There is still another definition. The Medical Professionalism Project says professionalism is the basis of medicine's contract with society. It demands placing the interests of patients above those of the physician, setting and maintaining standards of competence and integrity, and providing expert advice to society on matters of health. Professionalism in the workplace, is the absolute key to having a successful, and smoothly run business. Professionalism is something that must be maintained by every individual within the work setting, especially in health care, whether it is the janitor, activity director, nursing assistant, doctor, or even the head administrator. Professionalism encompasses many aspects, such as teamwork, attitude, environment, knowledge, morals, and ethics.

Everywhere you go and in everything you do, professionalism comes in to account in some way or another. Professionalism has been defined as, “a strict adherence to courtesy, honesty and responsibility when dealing with individuals or other companies in the business environment” (Clarke, 2015). When it comes to the career of nursing, professionalism is taken to a whole other level. Not only does professionalism come in to account with your business professionals and peers, but you have patients with whom professionalism is highly practiced as well. Professionalism in nursing means that you are able to handle all the responsibilities given to you in an efficient and proper way. It means that when you are given an order that needs to be carried out by a doctor or a patient who needs your help, you adhere to what is being expected of you in a timely manner.
