Rose Red vs. Hill House
The story “The Haunting of Hill House” written by Shirley Jackson and “Rose Red” by Steaven King have many similar things that happen. In both the movie and book it talks about a group of people that are psychic that visit a haunted house that has had so many things happen inside. They believe the house is alive and they go inside to see it for themselves. Both houses had a family Crains and the Rimbauers that have died in the house or on the way to the house.
In Hill House it mentions that rocks fell on Eleanor's house for 3 days straight and it was only happening to her house. This is the reason Eleanor wants to leave and get away so she goes to Hill House. While she stayed in the house, the house tries to

Luke is the next to be the owner of Hill House because he is Mrs Anderson's nephew. Steaven is currently the owner of Rose Red. These two are very similar because they are around the same age. Luke from Hill House is a really nice guy and he was always nice to Eleanor when everyone else was rude and talked bad about her. In Rose Red Steaven is very nice to Annie and they ended up becoming so close at the end because he would always protect her when everyone wanted to hurt her or said things to her that she didn't like.
In Hill House we have a character named Doctor Montague this character is the one that got everything started. He wanted to bring people in this haunted house to prove the existence of the paranormal. Than we have Joyce who brought a group of people to prove the same thing about Rose Red. These two characters lead the group of people around the house and told them about the history of both houses.
In the movie Rose Red we had lots more deaths than we had in Hill House. While the group stayed in Rose Red they died because the ghosts that were in the house made them think they were seeing things that they wanted to see but really nothing was there, the ghost also disguised as one of the people in the house so their friends would follow them thinking
The Haunting of Hill House is a book about four people that all have backgrounds of experiencing supernatural events. Because of this, they were all chosen to explore the supernatural happenings occurring at Hill House. The house was originally built by a man named Hugh Crain. It had been a place of mysterious events and also the deaths of those who lived there. Dr. Montague, a supernatural investigator, then carefully selected three people with paranormal backgrounds, and invited them to explore the occurrences at the house. Luke, the future heir of the house, Theodora, a careless artist, and Eleanor Vance are invited to the house. Eleanor Vance is the main character and narrator of the story. She lived alone,
She uses modern psychology and old ghost stories. These elements entice the reader to ponder what is real and what is not. When you combine the nature of the characters in Hill House and then compare them to the events taking place in the house “(blood on the clothes, blood on/in the walls, mysterious voices calling out and children laughing)”,
The Haunting of Hill House is a novel containing many characters who possess childlike qualities. Eleanor, the main character, had her childhood stolen and therefore acts the most childlike. Eleanor’s job was to care for her ill mother, which resulted in her missing out on vital socialization along with her chance to enjoy her young life. The references to the characters and their childish behavior begins fairly early in the novel. There have been suspicions of a house being haunted, named Hill House, so a Doctor named Dr. Montague decides to look for participants to occupy the house for the summer. When the characters arrive at Hill House in order to participate in the experiment, Eleanor and another important character named Theodora immediately connect. The two girls
In 1959 Miss Jackson wrote a novel called The Haunting of Hill House. In 1963 it was made into a film called The Haunting, starring Julie Harris and Claire Bloom. On one night in particular, she decides that she has become together with the house. She starts to fall deeper and deeper into the haunted house and becomes dangerous. Mrs. Montague even referred to her as a creature when she climbed to the top of the stairway in the library. The morning after she made a scene in the library and had to be saved at the top of the staircase, she was embarrassed and felt humiliated. As time went by, she began to go insane. She was happy while she should have been scared and sad. Eleanor loved Hill House because it was the closest thing to a home she had. She believed she was targeted more by the ghosts than the other house guests because she thought the ghosts “only knew her name”, which wasn’t the case because the ghosts knew all of their

“A Rose For Emily” By William Faulkner and “ Soldiers Home” By Ernest Hemingway are to great short stories. If you ever read these short stories one might argue that both author used the Biographical and Psychological reading strategy to describe the dynamics of each main character throughout the storries. In “ A Rose For Emily “ the main character was a lady name MIss Emily who was born into a family that was very wealthy, she was describes as a small fat women who lives in a modernizing town full of people, they sees her as a distant women who lives in her past. In a “ A Soldiers Home” the main character Harold Kerbs is young man who has recently returned from the U.S Marines during World War 1, he returns back to his hometown and does not receive a warm welcome like every other soldier does. Kerbs is having a hard time adjusting back to his normal life in his hometown. The author use Psychological reading strategy to describe each main character because they both are facing mental challenges in there life and trying to find away to over come them. There were many things about the house that I absolutely hated. First, the roses painted on the ceiling that my sister and I shared. At night, in the dark the flowers glowed looking like tiny eyes always watching us. We wanted to paint over the flowers, get rid of them, but we didn’t live there all that long so we never got the chance. The last thing about the house that we hated was that behind the house there was an old radio tower. My siblings and I thought that the radio building was haunted by a ghost, or some sort of evil witch. Once we walked up the hill that was home to the tower, as we neared the top the metal door on the building swung open. We were so scared, we ran down the hill to our house. We told our parents what happened but they didn't believe us. The next day we went back to the tower and the door was closed again, after that we never went up to the tower again. We were terrified and believed that it was haunted and afraid that the ghost who lived there would attack us.
There are too many haunted houses to count, but this one might just be real. With thousands of haunted places in the US, it's easy to think that many are fake. But this one has convincing evidence about how a seemingly innocent man killed his entire family. It may just have been out of this world forces.
1)BIn the book Nightstone by Rick Hautala, the story becomes more and more interesting to read as time passes.*) The books plot is about a family of three, with the names of Donald, Janis, and Beth, who have recently moved into an old house. *) When they first moved into the house, they noticed that it had an unsettling atmosphere to it, but they didn’t quite comprehend what made them feel frightened. *) Ever since they moved in the house, startling events have been occuring.
The film The Others (2001) by Alejandro Amenábar is a ghost story based around a family that believes they are being haunted by spirits in their home but come to realize they have already died and are haunting the new family that moved to the house. The title of the film refers to servants that abandoned the house and is used constantly throughout the film to reference the intruders and other spirits the original family believe are residing there. The main lesson to be learned from the film is that things are never as they appear which is proven when we find out that the mother, Grace, killed her own children and is a ghost along with her children. Since Grace is a ghost attempting to live in a world where her children are alive, she is living in the past which we find out leads to her breakdown when she finds out she is already dead. This theme of living in the past can also be found in Our Town, which is another ghost story.
The flyer for the haunted house hung in the hall of the school intriguing everybody who walked by to read it. Although no one had ever been in the house before, the gossip in the school amongst the students as well as throughout the town itself was that the creepy venue used to be an old English Castle where several dignitaries had died during the American Revolution. For years, various stories have been told about this mysterious house claiming it was haunted and inhabited by ghosts who scared away any and every unwanted soul entering it. However, apparently the people who bought it and were turning it into a haunted house for Halloween weren’t worried of the possibility of any of these stories being truthful.
A few years later, a family in Enfield part of London is haunted in their house by an old man who lived their before them. The events that unfolds at the house gets a wide-spread attention of the media. Soon, Lorraine and Ed arrive in Enfield to investigate the case as first responders of the church. Like the first movie, the filmmakers continue to insist that the film was inspired by “true events” from the investigations of Lorraine and Ed. To inspire confidence of audience, they have also showed paper clippings, photographs and audio interviews related to the case during the credit roll.
