Compare and Contrast between cats and dogs Tyesha Fricks My paper is going to be on animals and how they are the same and how their different from each other. I have a cat so I know how cats act and how their different from dogs. They have many things in common with one another. Differences between cats and dogs are, the life expectancy. A cat’s life expectancy is 12-25 years and a dog is 7-20 years. So that means that cats are able to live longer then dogs. Cats and dogs have different habits, such as how cats don’t like water. Dogs only need to be bathed sometimes depending on how long their hair is. I think that dogs are way more expensive then cats …show more content…
They have the same kingdom, phylum, class, and order. They both have 4 legs, long tails, a kind of like horizontal body, the size of one another, and have similar digestive systems and teeth. Both of them have hair on their bodies to keep them warm, clean their fur by licking themselves, they sometimes have different color combined with their fur. They drink milk when they’re babies, kept as pets, they want love and affection from their owner to show that they care about them, when you pet them there’s cat and sometimes dog hair everywhere. Some dogs and cats suffer from the same intestinal worms and other things. They could both have ticks or a disease of some sort. They could be infected with tapeworms or roundworms. Flea infections could kill the dog or cat. Infected cats have a higher chance of dying then dogs do. Common things between the two is that they’re both living, are breathing animals, and are carnivores. Cats and dogs are domesticated animals that people want to keep as pets. They sometimes eat the same type of food, they barely eat vegetables because it’s mostly meat products. Cats and dogs both grow an attachment to their owner knowing who they are after a while of living
Most dogs will enjoy a swim in a lake, whereas a cat would very much not enjoy that adventure. Likewise, the arctic wolf would most likely not enjoy a Florida vacation nor would an alligator probably enjoy a Minnesota winter. The lake is the same exact physical place, but a dog would see a place he really wanted to go as a cat may sniff at it, but turn right around. This is all based on an animals preferences and dislikes.
Whether it is an inside cuddle buddy, or an outside mice killer, cats make wonderful pets. While dogs stay dirty, drool, and bark, cats clean themselves, are clean animals, and meow quietly. Cats are warm and fuzzy and love to cuddle while they take naps. Dogs are too rambunctious and energetic. Cats make better pets than dogs.
The cats versus dogs debate is probably as old as the existence of early canines and ancient felines. Dog owners have long argued that dogs are better pets, but me, as a cat owner, beg to differ, and here’s why.
Dogs’ eagerness to please their masters is also a commendable trait which cats simply don’t have. Without this, it would be very difficult to train dogs for the many jobs they now hold, from aiding law enforcement personnel and herding sheep, to seeing-eye dogs and even helping exterminators locate hard-to-find infestations. While dogs and cats are a lot alike, you have to consider their differences before you choose your pet. As mentioned before cats do not require cleaning nor exercising or training, while dogs are in need of all these things. If you want to raise a pet then, try to manage your time before you choose your best
One of the most debated arguments to this day would have to be that cats are better than dogs. Did you know that more people own cats than dogs? In the US, 95.6 Million people own cats compared to the 83.3 million who own dogs. This speech will state why cats are smarter, cleaner, easier to look after and are also beneficial for your health, such as lowering your blood pressure and lowering your cholesterol.
and self sufficient? It is undeniable that cats are way better than dogs. Cats can lick themselves clean, and they make little to no messes whereas dogs slobber everywhere and need to be given a bath. Dogs also take forever to train and have a shorter life expectancy than cats while cats take less time to train and will be around longer. Wouldn’t you rather spend less time training your animal and have more time with them? Not to mention, dogs can be a pain to take on walks, but cats use the litter box without any assistance. Dogs are also a lot louder than cats and definitely more frightening. More people are scared of stray dogs than of stray cats. Do you really want a dog that will be loud and obnoxious and scare off your guests? With all these reasons it’s hard to deny that cats are tremendously better than dogs.
Another difference between cats and dogs is their social interactions. Dogs are more of pack animals. Members of their pack or family are very critical to them. They look for a
Owning an animal can take up a lot of time. For most people time is of the essence, and spending a lot of time on an animal is unrealistic . Cats are able to live without their owners for days on end. They can usually find something to eat, and pee if plants for example. But dogs need to be put in kennels and looked after by another person. Dogs also have to be put on leashes when they are outside. Cats have the ability to roam freely because their owners do not have to worry about them causing a lot of trouble. A cat is allowed to be outside until late hours because owners know that the feline will make its way home, where as a dog at night is usually brought inside, or chained up outside.
have almost all of the same foods, although they are famous for different types of food.
There are many couples that choose to own dogs as pets in lieu of having children. Dogs fill a void in the hearts of many as a small child may. A dog has a lot in common with a small child, except a baby turns into an adult and most of the responsibilities of taking care of a child go out the door with the offspring. Having a dog is like having an infant for 12 to 15 years.
A cat’s lifespan is dependent on several owner maintenance factors and genetics. Cats that are spayed or neutered and live indoors have the longest life expectancy. They are less likely to have tragic deaths caused by traffic accidents, fights with predators, or exposure to lethal chemicals and diseases. Providing a cat with a well balanced diet based on their individual needs will add years to their life. Regular vaccinations and veterinarian care will reduce the risk of feline diseases and can lead to early detection of health conditions.
I personally believe that dogs are better than cats because dogs are sometimes more nice and because they aren’t always as harmful as cats. There are some people that likes dogs more than others like cats and then there’s the opposite where people like cats more than others like dogs. Dogs help you make friends and their hair/fur is soft and smooth. Cats, Sometimes make your friends run away because they think that the cat might scratch them. Dogs also make you laugh more than cats do sometimes. Cats sometimes make u more scared of them than making you laugh.
By the standard of EQ, dogs come out slightly ahead of the intelligence game over cats. According to Wikipedia, there is only a 0.2 percent advantage to the dog. Such a minute difference may be the reason dog and cat parents argue about their favorite pets.
If you are environmentally conscious, you may be concerned with carbon footprints that are left behind. If that is the case, owning a cat is better for the environment than owning a dog. A study was conducted in 2009 which discovered that the resources it takes to feed and care for a dog during its lifetime create the same carbon footprint or eco-print, that is equivalent to that of a large Sports Utility Vehicle. A cat, on the other hand, eats less and has better food products, so they will leave a carbon footprint equivalent to that of a compact
