Comparing Federalism And The Democratic Republic

The federalists wanted the wealthy class to rule and the Democratic republic wanted the people to rule. There are many similarities and differences to this disagreement and yet the democratic republic won the argument and the people of the United States of America rule our country with great pride and pleasure. The differences between the Democratic Republics views and the Federalist views are completely opposite from one another. The federalist believed strongly that the richer people should rule in our country “They did not believe that it was wise to let the public become too involved with politics.” They thought this because they probably just made their country’s government and they didn’t trust anyone else. Federalists party just thought that the farmers and the poor people in the states weren’t smart enough to have a say in the leaders of America. The federalists pushed for this because they thought that the people would screw everything up in the long run and now our country solely runs on popular sovereignty. “ The Democratic republicans only believed that the government would be safe if the people were involved.” If only the wealthy people were involved they might be very biased towards a certain candidate. They both “Thought the government should be lead by honest men,” and that is what it is today in our society. If our country was not lead by honest men then it would just fall apart in minutes. Also they both strongly believed that the other person was wrong. In other words they both agreed to disagree. They believe in liberty between the states and both ideas from each party is somehow linked to this, with The two parties have one big thing in common too, they both want to rule their country with their own beliefs and isn’t that what they fought for, to make a country that has freedom of religion and free
