The Ladies’ Resort to the Ocean, interesting name isn’t it? It’s hard to believe that just 148 years ago that was the name of what is now one of the main attractions in Maryland. This is now known as Ocean City, MD. Ocean City was once owned by an Englishman by the name Thomas Fenwick. He owned the whole strip of land which was called Fenwick Island. A storm later separated

Boston and Washington DC have many tourist attractions throughout these cities. I am a big fan of metropolitan cities throughout the US. These both have historic locations, fun attractions, and many more educational experiences and locations. These are both urban areas that have previous experience with big groups and schools.
Ocean City has a lot of history to go with it, the first hotel was built by Isaac Coffin in 1869, it was the first beachfront cottage to receive paying guests, who came to fish, relax, enjoy the beauty of the ocean, and enjoy the sand. Ocean City extends nearly 10 miles from the southern inlet to the Delaware line. Now there are hotels, motels, apartments, houses, and condos. Ocean city expanded when the Chesapeake Bay bridge was finished, by the 1970’s there were big businesses and more apartments being built.
First off, there is the overcrowded (but fabulous) Pacific Beach, which offers party-goers a wide variety of hot spots all within walking distance from each other. Travel a little south and you will hit Mission Beach, which offers all the perks of P.B. with the added luxury of Belmont Park. Keep heading south and you will end up in Ocean Beach, a small community filled with vintage shops, dive bars, and some wonderful undiscovered little cafes and restaurants.

Along the east side of the park, one and a quarter miles of sandy beachfront boasts open views of the Atlantic Ocean. This beautiful area offers visitors access to warm waters and white sands. With a reef six miles offshore, the waters are protected and gentle waves lap at the feet of both children and adults.
To illustrate my point, there are enough beaches in Rhode Island one could go to a different beach everyday for weeks. The cities and towns are stock full of things to do, ranging from parks, historic sites, and places to shop or swim. Only in the Ocean State can one buy a refreshing cup of Del’s lemonade or go to the Bite Me Bait store where you can get anything from keychains or clothing to fishing gear.
Each year approximately seven million tourists travel to Delaware’s coast to vacation at the local beaches of Rehoboth, Lewes, Bethany, Cape Henlopen, Fenwick Island, and many more. Due to all the tourists who travel to Southern Delaware’s coast, major work and economical opportunities have opened up to the nearing town’s and residents. what attracts so many people to the beaches of Delaware? The answer is simple, the National Resources Defense (NRD) has tested the coast and as stated by Congressman John Carney the tests showed that “Delaware’s beaches have again been lauded for having the cleanest water quality in the nation.” Both the beaches of Rehoboth and Dewey “were again awarded 5-star ratings as Superstar Beaches for their perfect swimming water quality for the past four years.” The coast also includes many activities for families that may include things like fishing excursions, water parks, boardwalk and outlet shopping, boardwalk games, a movie theater, along with scenic walks and parks such as the Cape Henlopen State Park for more of the nature lovers of the
Once you reach the island, you will be treated to a stretch of beach that extends almost three spectacular miles. You can do just about anything your heart desires on this beach. If you are looking for just a minimal amount of activity, you can stroll along the sandy shore. You can watch the waves lap against the shore as a calm feeling washes over you. If you visit the beach between March and October, you will also get to see leatherback, green, and loggerhead sea turtles, as they use this area as a nesting ground. If you crave a bit more activity, you can head to the water where you can surf, snorkel, or SCUBA dive. If all of that seems like too much activity for you, you can grab a towel, catch some rays, and watch the other people on the beach. Whatever way you choose to spend your time at the beach, you will certainly have a spectacular time.
And, of course, you haven’t made the best of your trip to New Jersey if you haven’t visited and lazed on the stunning beaches along the Atlantic Ocean. From barrier islands and lighthouses to sandy shores and crystal clear waters, the beaches are far too tempting for anyone to resist.
The Rehoboth Beach, which is located in Delaware, is a wonderful beach for the family. It is a great way to spend time with your family and relax for some time. They have many "family" type activities such as certain events or festivals that are held every year. Not only that, they also have bike riding on the boardwalk or simply going for a walk. They have a incredible boardwalk, like other beaches. The beach has a nearby venue where concerts could be held or some sort of entertainment. Overall, this beach is wonderful for some time off and relaxing with you family, relatives, or friends.
Many people, especially those living near the beach, love to use the sea for recreation. There are many activities to do at the beach or in the water, including fishing, boating, swimming, waterskiing, or canoeing. None of these entertaining activities would be possible without the ocean. The tourists and visitors coming to coastal regions to enjoy the ocean or coast are also important. The visitors pay for things in that city, and therefore improve the economy. When a tourist visits a state with a coast, such as North Carolina, they will eat at local restaurants, buy souvenirs, and spend money on activities. The money that is obtained through tourists helps the coastal state’s economy. The recreational activities bring
Cannon Beach - The Haystack Rock on this beach is 2353 feet high and ranked the “third coastal monolith in the world”. Some other interesting coastal towns are: Seaside, Gleneden, Depoe Bay, Florence, Reedsport, North bend, Coos Bay, Brandon, Gold Beach, Bookings, Rockaway Beach, and Lincoln City.
Its cold, windy, and sunny all at the same time. The beach stretches for miles seeming endless, until it reaches a tall cliff with waves crashing against it. The sun shines down on the moisture in the air creating a “sparkling” affect to add to the view. In some spots on the coast giant rock formations stick out of the water, creating a question on how they formed there. Sea creatures dot the sand everywhere. Walking the beach with sand between your toes is and not a worry in your mind is one of the best feelings. If you time it right early in the mornings and late in the night low tide takes place and you can find sand dollars and unique shells. Beautiful houses and hotels line the beach all with the same withered look they all strive to have, and balconies on every place to capture the view.
Population growth has fueled the demand for more resources. The demand for coastal resources has grown significantly due to over 40% of the world’s population living within 100 km of the coast. Living in Hawaii, one of the natural resources that is most valuable to society and the local economy is access to these coastal and beach resources. At a state level, providing and improving access to coastal resources has been a priority objective as defined by the Coastal Zone Management Act. In attempts to valuate the benefits of access to these coastal resources, the majority of previous research has focused on the value of beach recreation in coastal regions. These studies have found that visitors’ decisions on what beach to go to are highly influenced by preferences, perceptions and the site’s characteristics (Halkos & Matsiori 2012). According to this study by Halkos and Matsiori in Greece people are more likely to be willing to pay for improvements in beach water quality, site facilities and additional beach access points. Recent studies have taken this data one step further to valuate the economic benefits of each of these identified improvements.
