Paper Towns
Paper Towns, this book is based on teenager, and like other teenagers, has a crush on a certain girl. But the girl he likes isn’t like other teenagers, she’s different. It gets exciting when this girl sneaks into his room in the middle of night with a list of things to do. They end up going on a journey. But the next day it all changes. She’s gone. When he wants to find her, he then notices that she had left clues to try to find her. But what happens when he does?...
The characters in this book are like any other people, John green does a great job with that. One of the main characters in this book Q, ( Quinten), is pretty normal guy, but Q is pretty shy, he needs to get out more, face more things. The girl he likes, Margo, is the opposite. She is adventurous, is one for mischief, and loves mysteries. She may be one for attention, but she's way more than that. She's tired with the world, she says that the world is filled with “Paper towns and paper people.”

They both are like any other love story book. In both books one of the characters disappear and someone loses someone. Also in both books teenagers fall in love with each other, and are mischievous. This book also relates to the real world, like when they talk about paper towns, in that that part they compare their town to paper, (not really
This novel was set during the post war period, this was a time when independence and rebelling against parents and law was more important than doing the right thing, during these times of independence, and teenagers needed friendship more than anything else.
As for differences, I came upon many that I think show how the authors might’ve felt about star crossed love, young love, or just love in general. The little details I picked at really do draw lines between the two stories and give them both different meaning.
In life, there is always that one person who is two faced and acts different around every person, and their best friend sees who they actually are on all sides. In Paper Towns by John Green, Q is the best friend of Margo and he sees who Margo really is, this causes Q to change and become fearless and brave in his relationship with Margo.
Together, both characters in the two novels change after knowing how life really is, the process and way they turned out are still different. Now that we have learned all of this stuff and turned up into a compare and contrast, it will be easier to sum it up. First, we learn that Hannah and Cole both had the motive to help people after making mistakes, Next we learned that Hannah tried to stay quiet and not get in trouble, while Cole never cared and nothing mattered to him. These are the similarities and differences in the two novels. Hopefully now you should be able to compare and contrast two
There are many interesting things that can be compared and contrasted from these two books. Both Henry and Charlie are afraid of what might happen to them in the war. The war hurt Charlie and he knows that he is slowly dying and Henry leaves the war with dramatic stress for the rest of his life. Both Charlie and Henry were good hearted men that did not want to kill anyone. These two books are about two young boys that join the army in the civil war and tell about what they went through while in battle.
The book Paper Towns by John Green is a story about going past the imagination to actually know somebody. Quentin, who is convinced he is in love with the wild and adventurous Margo, goes on a journey to find her when she ran away. Through this journey, he finds a new Margo, the real Margo. Instead of imagining the Margo of his dreams, who is perfect and daring, he sees a different side, like looking through a fun house mirror. Using the theme of perceptions vs. reality, John Green shows readers through Quentin that you have to dig deeper in order to know and understand someone.
Both of the works contained choice for the characters to make and they all choose their own choice. Teenager year is the time where it is hard to make decisions and both of the works represented the choices by using Ponyboy and Johnny. For example, after the murder, Ponyboy and Johnny both made the decision to get help from Dally and run away. It was their decisions to make; furthermore, they had the choice of running away or to tell the truth. In addition, setting was different compared to the book and the movie. In the book the setting took place in the southwest; despite that, the movie’s setting took a place at in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Also, it changed the conflict from the East Side versus the West side to the North side versus the South side. This change made the readers very
In a society where young adults are consumed by superficial appearances, the desire to understand others and conceptualize life is neglected. In the novel, Paper Towns, John Green challenges young adults to consider different perspectives through relatable characters and their experiences. At the beginning of the novel, Margo and Quentin do not recognize each other’s existence. Then, one night, Margo enters Q’s room through the window, and they go on an epic adventure of revenge. The next morning, Margo is gone.
Many similarities that are narrated in the stories are familiar to the reader that may be going in their lives. Thus, the imaginations of these two authors brings the love to life as the reader is memorized of his/her own imagination is intrigued as the story unfolds increasing the excitement of what is to come next. The love between two people that grows deeper with every stolen moment. each precious touch no matter risks for that love. Falling in love is easy, but true love is much harder to find. relating to the events that occurred with the characters in the stories is what brings the excitement of reading.. Love has many effects on people and no two people react the exact same way. The perception of love plays a big part on the person(s) involved and the outcome of the relationships will vary from one person to another. Murder, deceit, lusting, underhanded maneuvers, cheating all are events that could occur in romance. Falling in love is a beautiful thing and in these stories dangerous enough to end up in death. Reality is; true love is hard to
The famous award winning book I chose to write about is my favorite “Before I Fall” by Lauren oliver. Lauren Oliver has grew to be one of my favorite authors over the years from her ability to relate with her teenage readers so well and grasp every ages attention with her suspenseful andthought-provoking novels. This book is about a teenage girl named Sam Kingston who’s only concern in high school is her group of friends and her boyfriend. This story takes place in Connecticut and they all go to Jefferson High School. The leader of her group Lindsay is the stereotypical “popular-mean girl” everyone knows about. Her other 2 best friends Elody and Ally are followers to Lindsay and never really speak up for themselves. She has the most popular boyfriend in the school named Rob who is everything she could ever want but soon realizes he isn't.
The book I read is called Linger by Maggie Stiefvater. This book is set in Mercy Falls, Minnesota around 2010. Linger is about a young girl named, the protagonist, Grace who fell in love with a boy named Sam, who she can not be with. Isabella, Grace’s friend, knows and goes through the situations along with Grace. Cole is a new, dynamic character in the story. He has problems he wants to get rid of and learns to deal with them. Grace has many different experiences with her parents and other things that most teenagers don’t.
She is new to town and encounters a dog that helps her along the way. We see all the people she is becoming friends with and who help her on this new journey. After reading both books, I can see the similarities and differences in the way the author’s crafted these
Both books have boys going through a rough time in war. There are some differences in the two books like how the boys are not the same age. The two young men are different in very countless ways. There are also some ways they are alike, like they both fight in the north. These two books are alike and different in so numerous ways.
The first major claim is that the plots of both "coming of age" stories are the same. The first similarity is that both protagonists have an infatuation with a girl that they can't have. The beauty of the girl is what causes the infatuation and makes both characters agitated and disoriented. Then they both offer
Paper Towns by John green is one of my favorite books ever. In this book "Q" has to go on a search to find his crush/friend. Miles and Q are a lot alike, they are both kinda wallflowers, the don't have very many friends and they are pretty smart but quiet. Both of these characters have to do something the never could have done before. In Looking for Alaska he stepped out of his comfort zone by drinking and smoking which lead to Alaska's death. However in paper towns Q has to step out his comfort zone to find the girl that he
