Bodie Thoene once said, “What is right is often forgotten by what is convenient”. This quote means the easy decision isn’t always the best decision. That this statement is true because many people decide to be lazy and choose the easy way out of things, but forget that the hard way may be the best way. Both the “Road Not Taken” by Thousand Foot Krutch and Untraveled Road by Robert Frost both deal with the idea of “what is right is often forgotten by what is convenient”. By not taking the easy way out, a person might have a better outcome in the end. In the poem “Road Not Taken” the author Robert Frost is writing about two roads and he is trying to pick one. The poem also tells how it took him a while to decide which road to take and after a lot of deciding he thought he made the right choice. Frost also says “I doubted if I should ever come back” (line 15) which also, might mean he wanted to stay on the road he was traveling because it was better. Frost supports Thoene’s idea of doing the right thing helps you out down the road. In the song The “Untraveled Road” the author is trying to talk about how someone can make a difference and how one person’s voice does matter. Thousand Foot Krutch said, “Cause one voice is enough to make sleeping giants wake up” (lines 38 and 39). That might have meant that one voice can make a huge change and other people can follow that change. This can influence other people to change and stand up for what is right. This also can relate to the idea of the easy way isn’t always the best way by making enough noise to wake other people up and get them in reality instead of staying quiet. The quote by Thoene, “What is right is often forgotten by what is convenient” has something to deal with the song because people are making the hard decision and not to be like everybody else and stand up and make a difference. One person can lead a bunch of people to the right path and make a good difference. The quote is about not being lazy and taking the easy way out and this song is about that, it expresses how people can make a change and take the hard way out and there will definitely be a better outcome. This also relates to the easy way not always being the right way by fulfilling you destiny as being a leader and a trustworthy person.
