Competition is something no one can avoid and will always be a part of society. It is human instinct as well as animal instinct to excel another. Competition is found everywhere. From businesses to schools and even in kid films like The Incredibles, competitions are everywhere. While competition does have negative views, it positively enforces us to improve ourselves and set goals. It brings forth inspiration to fix our past mistakes to make sure that we will win next time. While improving ourselves we can find goals that we are proud of achieving.
We find ourselves competing with others to improve ourself. Usually people would find someone who has more skills than themselves and compete against them to improve their own abilities. “A Spartan wants to know how they stack up against previous attempts so they can improve.” (Sena)
It’s not just a Spartan who wants to know what they lack but everyone who tries to improve does. Everyone learns from mistakes and previous failures to meet their goal of being the best. An example of someone who has grown because of competition would be Syndrome, otherwise known as Buddy, from the Pixar movie The Incredibles. Having competition makes one want to meet more things other than just winning. They can set goals for improve themselves and even can set future life goals, such as becoming the best doctor. Syndrome too had set goals for himself, which he states in the movie: “I’ll be a bigger hero than you ever were.” (The Incredibles) Syndrome sets his life goal of becoming the best hero anyone has ever seen.
