Larry Page, born March 26, 1973, is a computer engineer who helped to create one of the biggest, well-known companies in the world. In 1998, he cofound Google Inc. with his grad school friend named Sergey Brin. With a net worth of almost 33.3 billion dollars, Google Inc. has grown to be one of the most well-recognized companies in the world. It is used by thousands of people daily, being used to find information on the internet, and offering services such as email and maps. It began as a small online search firm, which has gradually expanded to what it is now (becoming much more than just a simple search engine). He has also invented a search ranking algorithm called “PageRank” (Google’s most well-known search algorithm) and has overseen the acquisitions of companies such as Nest and Dropcam. A lot of the success he has earned up to this point was due to his childhood, being revolved around the use of technology. Born in Lansing, Michigan, Larry Page was the son of Carl Page and Gloria, both who were computer science professors (his original name was Lawrence Page). His father Carl was involved in computer science and artificial intelligence (having a Ph.D. in computer science), while his mother Gloria taught computer programing, and they both attended Michigan State University.
