The world has many different belief systems including Christianity and Buddhism. Both are similar and different in many ways. These religions are used in different places around the world and influenced the lives of its followers and the society in which they are practiced. Christianity is more diverse and complicated in its beliefs and totally depends on faith. In contrast, Hinduism is a belief more based on the simplicity of culture and tradition.
Christianity was founded in the early first century. It is centered around the belief of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is the largest religion in the world with around 2 billion followers. Christianity is a monotheistic religion. This means that Christians believe in only one

Mary was a human being who gave birth to Jesus Christ through immaculate conception. Angels are believed to be spiritual beings created by God before the world was created. They exist to glorify God, minister to God, and to act as messengers to the people on Earth. In Christian belief, demons are angels who rebelled against God and were banished from the heavens. The leader of the rebellious angels is Satan. Heaven is believed to be a place in which believers have freedom from suffering and sin in the presence of God. Hell is a place in the afterlife where sinners are punished. This belief system influences people to live a good, spiritual life dedicated to God and to do good deeds in order to enter the kingdom of God called heaven. Worshipers follow the Ten Commandments such as “Thou shall not steal” and “Thou shall not kill” in order to be good Christians and be blessed by the Lord our Father. Christianity, if practiced literally, it would altogether eliminate wars and bring peace to the world. Christianity introduced schools in churches and monasteries to educate the poor and nobility. Christianity also influenced artists in the works that they produced. Music has also been influenced such as gospel and spiritual songs. The symbol of the Cross has been used in many different ways such as jewelry with a variety of metals and jewels (gold, silver, gems etc.). Hinduism is an ancient religion with no known founder or date of
Christianity is one of the most dominant religions in the world today and has a long and complex history. Although Christianity has its roots in Judaism, it was greatly influenced by the culture of the Greeks and Romans it developed in. The Greco-Roman world was polytheistic and full of deities that were petty and faulted. As a young religion Christianity shares aspects with the religions around it, namely in the central stories. Eventually Christianity spread through the Roman Empire and to the rest of the world.
considered him to be in direct communication with the Brahman. So completely had he turned within to realize the true Self that he never acknowledged any human presence, although admirers came from miles around to worship him and to lay before him their offerings of fruit and flowers, cotton cloth, and money (Maharaj, 2004: 14).
In worship, with Hinduism, each deity is praised separately, while in Christianity, thy worship each as the one God. As Christianity worships God as one, they refer to God as one whole of the three persons and worship as one Supreme Being that is adored as one. Hinduism, on another note, displays dedication to the worship of each deity in different temples in the Hindu triumvirate. As Clooney (2001) explains, there are major differences between the two religions, such that treatment of God lies in the way they worship (45).
The earliest religions of India possess many of the same attributes. Despite this, these religions grew independently, adopting their own cultures and standards. Two such religions are Hinduism and Buddhism, that, regardless of their base similarities, developed notably different belief systems. Ultimately, Hinduism and Buddhism have compelling similarities in regards to their moral codes and interpretations of the afterlife; however, are fundamentally different through their history, objects of worship, ultimate goals, hierarchal structures, and methods of teaching their beliefs.
Buddhism and Hinduism are closely related. They share common origins in India during the “second urbanization” around 500 BCE [1]. Buddha, the creator of Buddhism was a Hindu prince before he founded his own path to enlightenment. So, we can say that the relationship between the two is analog to the relationship between Judaism and Christianity [2] in some ways. The foundation of Christianity was inspired by the life of a Jew while Buddhism was inspired by the life of a Hindu. The only difference is that Buddha disproved Hinduism, which he did not find the beliefs in it to be the right path.
“If I were asked to define the Hindu creed, I should simply say: Search after truth through non-violent means. A man may not believe in God and still call himself a Hindu. Hinduism is a relentless pursuit after truth... Hinduism is the religion of truth. Truth is God.”
Initially, Christianity was founded in the capital of Israel, Jerusalem. The founder of this common religion goes by the name, Jesus Christ who was the son of god and is also known as the Messiah. Christianity was founded around 30 BCE and is still continued worldwide. Furthermore, Christianity focuses on the life, teachings, and resurrection of Jesus Christ along with the many different branches and forms with accompanying beliefs and practices. One teaching, taught by the Holy Bible is that anyone who believes and follow Jesus Christ will have salvation and eternal life after you die. For example, when you die and haven’t been sinful and have worshipped Jesus Christ, you will go to heaven and live forever. Christianity also teaches and influence people to be kind and treat people with benevolence and affection. This religion requires every Christian to pray two to three times a day and reading out of the bible, not to mention going to church every sunday. In this particular religion, Christians believe that God(Jesus) wants each and everyone to succeed and walk with him throughout life. It is also believed that God has a plan for every individual if you communicate with him each and every day and tell him what you’re thankful for, what you need help with or even praying for someone else. In present day society, over 2.2 billion people follow this religion and devoting their life to the rules and ways of the Holy Bible. In this religion, people all around the world are influenced to have a sense of community which provides group cohesion and identity, as well as a way for rituals and traditions to be passed down from generation to generation. With that said, I would also like to announce that Christian holidays such as Easter and Christmas are remarkably crucial worldwide and are very significant to people in the the
Christian believes that there is a one God who created all things in the world (Shelly & Miller, 2006). However, they also believe in science, but it was all a part of God’s master plan. God organize everything that happens in this world. Christian also believes that God is always with us and he wants the best for everyone. For Hinduism, God is created the world and all is good. God is also in charge of everything in the universe. God creates, sustain, and destroys the universe to recreate again (A Hindu Primer, 2007). The worldview of both religions seems similar because they both believe that God is a creator of this world and he cares about everything is how it ought to be.
According to (source, year), Christianity is religion that is a form of Abrahamic monotheism which is on the basis on the life and experiences of Jesus Christ and this is shown in the New Testament. Christianity is one of the largest religions in the world with more than 2.4 billion people that adhere to the religion, known as Christians. Christians hold their belief that Jesus Christ is the Son of God that came to be the saviour of mankind who is seen as the Messiah which was the prophecy spoken in the Old
In the world of billions of people how many of us are going to be the same? People will perceive the world in their own way. One person may see the world perfect, while others see nothing but the end. Is everyone going to be different? Not necessarily, many others will share the same beliefs but that could mean more varieties will be created. Once one person believes a certain path they may choose to believe in that belief or even believe living is the path to happiness. However, one chooses to perceive their own world, they may or may not be right. Just like in religion people follow their belief but what they choose may not be the honest path. Some have common similarities but many differences as well. Hinduism and Christianity have many resemblances between one another and how their Gods are, even with the view that they are extremely different, especially in the way that Hinduism has many Gods compared to Christianity and how they both reach salvation.
From the beginning of time, humans have been engaged in a gruesome and perilous battle that could potentially eradicate all evil from existence. However, this would prove to be too great of a feat for man alone. So, man acknowledged his weaknesses early and sought out assistance from beings that are often described as omnipotent, omniscient, benevolent, sovereign, and provident. People worship and devote their lives to them. Many even make it a point to die for them. Even with ties as strong as these, once the Period of Enlightenment began in the eighteenth century, a myriad of questions arose. While religious leaders pointed to sacred texts and tried to reinforce existing beliefs, this did little to quench the thirst and sate the hunger of knowledge seeking individuals. The problem of evil and why it is allowed to exist in a universe where an ultimately “good” God or groups of gods and goddesses not only reside, but also reign supreme, plagued the minds of many. To answer this question and many more like it, scholars used theodicies.
Christianity is a monotheistic religion based on the teachings of Christ, the Son of God serving as the focal point of the religion. It is a major religion stemming from the life, death, and teachings of Jesus Christ. Having evolved from the teachings of Moses to those of Jesus Christ, Christianity has grown to become the largest religions (Carter et al. 2017). Hinduism is a conglomeration of philosophical, religious, and cultural ideas that originated from India and characterized by the belief of one absolute being with many

In life, there are many beliefs that one can have when it comes to religion. All have their own ways and stories to tell. For my Comparative Theology class, I have chosen to look at Hinduism and Christianity. These two have their similarities and their differences and I will be exploring those in this paper. They have their own origins as well as beliefs and practices.
