From maintaining a risk assessment sheet it allows us as nursery nurses to recognise possible hazards and dangers for majority of things around the nursery. It is important that anyone working with children and young people is fully aware of policies and procedures put in place in their setting and also aware of their role in implementing these policies and procedures. Policies and procedures definite what an organisation does and how they do it in order to provide a safe environment for children and young people during their time in care.
It is important to have carefully written policies in place in our settings as this not only conforms to current legislation (Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage), but also makes sure that staff know what to do in any given situation and helps us to provide a safe and healthy environment for all the children in our care.
In order to ensure the safety of the children and young people in our care there are a number of policies, procedures and practices that must be adhered to.
I would therefore maintain records, making clear who is responsible for tasks and confirming that they are being carried out effectively. So every carer must make sure health and safety is taken place so that service users feel comfortable to receive care as there 's plenty of hazards and risks. Awareness of protection and safety issues is a basic requirement that all health professionals are expected to have.
