When I to collage I want to study cosmetology and become a professional cosmetologist. I would like to be a cosmetologist because first off I love makeup and hair second, my sister Marissa went to school for cosmetology but was unable to finish due to a pregnancy so I really want to do that for her but she may go back once the baby is big enough. Cosmetology interests me because I love that you can come up with different styles and designs for hair and makeup plus I love to be creative. I feel that I will be successful at this because I do my makeup now and I've been working with it, it’s not perfect but hopefully I will get there someday. I feel if my beautician constantly asked me what I wanted I would lose confidence in their abilities, and be scared for my life. Cosmetologist do work long days and long hours, so it can be very tiring and stressing on your body. To prevent bad health issues such as back problems, carpal tunnel, and feet problems, it is key to keep proper posture when working and wear shoes with good support. I don’t know about you but if I was a client, I wouldn’t want to be sitting in my beautician’s garbage and last client’s leftover hair. So, if you want to keep your job, keep your area tidy and as professional as possible. Another good skill to obtain, is creativity. Clients love when their hair dresser is already up to date with the latest cuts and styles. Lastly, the most important skill to have is time management. If you’re good at what you do, then you will gain clientele fast. That means you can’t spend all day on just one client. Get the job done in efficient time so you can keep up that clientele.
During the age of 5 I found a passion and love for hair, I was always the one to critique my sister when she did something wrong with the doll's hair or even an outfit. Cosmetology is the general work on others hair and skin. The area of cosmetology I am going for is hair. I find working on other people’s hair fun and interesting. Hair, makeup, and fashion have been an interest of mine since I was in grade school. I always knew that, when I grew up, I was going to pursue a career in one of those fields. Before making a serious decision about becoming a cosmetologist, I needed to find more information about the industry. So, the first step I took was to research what the industry offers.
