If you want to be a cosmetologist, I think that’s a great idea! Cosmetology requires you to go to school for it but it can be very interesting and joyful. Also, after your schooling you get great money. Cosmetology is a great career for me and many other people because of the enjoyment of making people feel great about themselves and the money I would earn. Imagine you've just finished high school and you don’t know where to start your cosmetology career. The following will help you through that.
SCHOOLING
For cosmetology, schooling and what school you go to has a big effect on your career. If you're interested in cosmetology, you have to go to a collage. There are many goals you will have to achieve in order to graduate. The goals for your school come from your state's requirements. Most schools requirements are the same but they could be a little different. Make sure the school you go to is a good learning environment for yourself. If not, check into other schools.
Once you get into the right school for you, get ready for many adventures ahead. There are many things you should do in order to be the best you can be. First thing you will want to do is “ Try to set yourself apart by making yourself for valuable to potential employees.” What this is saying, is that you need to help other students in that school to prove you are better and that you are

I do not agree with this because it’s something you have to work or. It’s not just something you do even though you’re not good at it. Usually, if people are bad at a sport they really like, they stay with it even though they aren’t good. Cosmetology is different. If you’re not good at cosmetology you can’t do it because you don’t want to make someone have a horrible haircut or bad color. Even if you still did cosmetology when you are bad at it you won’t ever get money because someone isn’t going to pay you for doing bad on their hair, nails, makeup
I have chosen cosmetology as my research career. This career particularly interest me because it is something I would like to do with my life. I feel this career is filled with opportunities that can be very beneficial to me financially and emotionally. One specific goal I have in my life is to one day open my own salon.
There are a lot of steps in getting education and training for a career in Cosmetology. The minimum education level required for this career is postsecondary training. There is no such thing as maximum training in cosmetology because a person can keep training after receiving the credentials necessary to start a career in cosmetology. ‘Cosmetology programs generally grant certificates, diplomas or associate's degrees, rather than bachelor's degrees’ (Bachelor’s). All the education necessary is a high school diploma, cosmetology diploma, and a certificate or associate's degree program. The education needed for cosmetology can range anywhere from 9 months to 2 years. The minimal amount for this education in cosmetology is from $5,000 to $10,000. Attending a top beauty school however can range anywhere
Going through cosmetology school gave you the expertise you need to cut and style hair. People come to you because you make them look and feel their best. Unfortunately, you never know when an accident can happen, and no amount of training or professionalism can prevent every mishap. When these things do occur, you want to make sure you and your business are protected with the Cosmetology Insurance Program through Foy Insurance.
Before I graduated from high school, I devised a five year plan for myself. First, I would attend SUNY Albany to obtain a degree in business. Then, I would attend a cosmetology school, acquire the 1,000 hours needed to take my state board exams, take those exams to finally secure my cosmetology license. All of this would eventually lead to opening my own salon in the future. About a month before my graduation, an ambulance bolted my mom to the hospital.
The general location a cosmetologist works is in a salon or spa, however some hotels and resorts have spas in them. If you work for yourself you could even gather clients
Every since I was a child I have had a passion for doing other people’s hair. When I was little I would use my baby dolls as clients and work on their hair until it was perfect and neat. I have chosen to be in the cosmetology field because I like to help other people with their needs and wants as well as mine. I am aware that while working in this industry I will work with many different ethnic groups and many different hair types. I feel I can do anything as long as I have the determination to do so. Many people go to cosmetology school to work for someone else, but I would like to open up a mini-salon out of my own home someday.

Cosmetology is a broad term that includes hair, make up, skin, and nails (Cosmetology Careers and Cosmetology Education Information 14 Oct. 2014). “Find what you are passionate about and continue to work hard every day towards a successful future. Even when you think you’ve reached the top, keep striving for new success, the possibilities are endless” (Nino DeAngelis). Many people wonder what is needed to become that successful good paid cosmetologist. Society sometimes think men are not suited for a cosmetology career; little do they know that is not true. A man who was not ashamed of the job which they called a woman’s job would be Paul Mitchell. In the cosmetology industry what is mainly needed is patience, which would be the best skill for this career. Cosmetologists do not only handle hair, but many more parts of the body. A career in cosmetology is based on professional skill or practice of beautifying the face, skin, and hair; therefore one needs to know the safety requirements in using many different chemicals, job description, salary, and benefits to work in this career.
In order to become a cosmetologist, I will have to take certain steps. According to Bureau of Labor Statistics, I must graduate from a state-licensed barber or cosmetology school. There are some states that will allow enrollment at the age of 16.After I have graduated from a state-approved training I will be required to take a test. The test will be a written test and/or in some cases it may be a test of styling skills or an oral exam. As a Cosmetologist, I must have the creativity for the styling and ideal part. Customer service skills are must have skills to have for
My hairdresser had this friend she went to college with and all she wanted to do was colour hair. She went through many years of beauty school and countless hours of practicing and finally was able to colour hair. When she finished her first client she immediately hated it and went back to college to get a degree in something else because she realized that she utterly hated colouring hair even though it was what she wanted to do her whole life.
Have you ever thought about becoming a cosmetologist? Are you familiar with what a cosmetologist does? Do you think you have the skill and patience it takes to become a cosmetologist? The basics of becoming a cosmetologist and why it is so common in today’s world will be explained in the following paragraphs.
A survey certified that average women spend about $13,000 on makeup in her life time. Not only that, but also spend 300 hours applying it. Beauty tends to increase the self esteem of women, they think more positive of themselves. Along with that like anything else cosmetology has revolutionized throughout the years. Cosmetology has played an important role in lives of women, it does not only represent beauty, but also self confidence.
The greatest accomplishment in my life thus far has been graduating high school. Academics has always been very significant to me. Neither my Mother or my Father graduated from high school and they have always encouraged me to receive my diploma. with the diploma came pride, being the first person in my family to get a higher education and knowing I'm one step closer to my career.
Cosmetology is the study and application of beauty treatment. Branches of specialty includes hairstyling, skin care, cosmetics, manicures/pedicures. And a Fine Artists are artists that include painters, sculptors, and illustrators. In fine arts I would be doing painting/ body painting. For schooling I would love to go to University of Arizona or Eastern Arizona Collage. I have wanted to go to U of Arizona since I was 10. Eastern Arizona Collage offers the cosmetology class I need and University of Arizona has the Fine arts class I need. A lot of people have an interest in arts or something of the field. But the whole arts, makeup, and hair has been my escape from reality when ever I'm having a hard time at school or even in life. I've been doing (cutting and coloring) my own hair and doing my own makeup for 4 years. I have done other peoples hair and makeup before and gotten nothing but positive feed back. School will cost money so, I am going to be applying for scholarships.
When I turned 38-years-old I wanted to make a change in my life. I was tired of working jobs that had me living from paycheck to paycheck. The only option I saw was to return to school to get some sort of formal training. I did not want to spend years in college, so I decided to go to a trade school. After some research, I became intrigued with the field of cosmetology. I liked the possibility of someday going into business for myself. I went for an orientation at a local beauty school, and I was sold on being able to complete the program in a year. I was overjoyed thinking that I would be soon be putting all those dead end jobs behind me. I thought becoming a cosmetologist would be life changing, and it would be, but not the way I envisioned.
