I have to have these requirements to go to and graduate from cosmetology school; hair texturizing, hair cutting, hair styling, skin care, nail art, business training, and retail development. After I get my cosmetology license and graduate, I as a cosmetologist should be equipped to do any in the body, hair, and nail treatment. Although I cannot say that I have always known what I wanted to do with my life, I have always had a love and passion for hair, nails, makeup, and really anything to do with beauty. Between four sisters, friends, slumber parties, and formals, I have found my love for beauty and have obtained a large amount of practice. As a result of my experiences, my desire for cosmetology has brought me to Paul Mitchell the school. I have decided to attend Paul Mitchell because this school can help further my future education in cosmetology. I am confident that it is the perfect place for me, it will help me achieve my future goals and dreams, and I believe that I am a good student for this school.

Introduction: Cosmetology is the career that I chose to do my report on. When I get done with high school I want to be a cosmetologist because I find it to be interesting and a fun job. Cosmetology is a very artistic career. Cosmetology is the study and application and the beauty treatment. Branches of specialty ranges anywhere between hairstyling, skin care, cosmetics, manicures/pedicures and electrology. A person that is employed in this career would cut, style, dye and wash their clients hair the way that the client wants it. Plus, they have the skills to do professional manicures and pedicures with a special design if that is what the client wants.

Full-time versus part-time-- Typically cosmetologists and hairdressers can work a small number of hours per week or as many hours as they choose. Some salons will let cosmetologist rent a section of the salon for a certain price, so they are their own boss. Most people get into cosmetology because they like making people feel good about themselves. A student that graduated from Fullerton College said, “I love when a client looks in a mirror and is brought to tears because she did not know she could look so beautiful, that's why I do my job, it is extremely gratifying to realize I am responsible for making someone feel better about themselves after leaving my chair.” Hairdressers and cosmetologists often build a friendship connection with their client, some clients use appointments to relax and unwind and see their stylist as a friend for an hour.

Cosmetologist are always learning new things to keep up with the new fashion trends and season. “Having five years of experience the individual may be mentoring new or junior cosmetologist. They might also be training to be the salon manager. Ten years out one may be the manager of a salon or run their own. They will be more creative and let their artistic sides out.

I get excited when I get to put my personal experience into a project or assignment. For science, I love studying about medicine that deals with the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of disease, disorder and injury in non-human animals. There are a lot of technology aspects that I enjoy but my favorite is the social media services. I think it’s great that there is such a big outlet out there that provides us with communication all around the world. Another aspect of science that I enjoy is makeup and cosmetology.

Being a hairstylist, it is all about the skills: The artistic skills, the communication skills, also, the skill to be patient and respectful. Some people have a difficult time trying to obtain all of these skills. Hairstylists have a tough job. No one really understands what the stylist goes through. The pressure to get things right and to make the client happy is a complicated situation.

It’s almost as if you visualize the entire style before you even begin and then literally start to cut to the perfection of that image.
