“But sir, I really need this job without it I won’t have anything.” cried Lauren, a single mother. “I realize but, we are having pay cuts and we just can’t afford to have this many workers it just cost too much.” explained her ex-boss, Jonathan. Lauren started to walk to her car which was parked right outside the coffee shop. While shedding a tear she opened the icy door handle and proceeded to put her key in the ignition. Once she got to her house she just sat in the car thinking about what she was going to tell her son, Jack, who had just started the 7th grade. She thought about is for a while then came up with a solution, she wasn’t going to tell him. He had already been worried about joining and new school and she would not want to worry him any more. It was 4:05 p.m which meant jack was usually out of school and in the house watching tv or eating, Both he did a lot of. “I’m home!” shouted Lauren when she walked in as she usually did. “I’m over here eating!” replied Jack in the same loud voice his mother had spoken. “How was your first day of School? Any new friends? Anything I should know?” She battered him with questions “It was pretty good I got a few new friends but nothing new. How was your day?” Asked jack. “It was alright,” she lied nervously, “same old same old” It was already 10:00 p.m and jack was getting ready for bed.
