Part One: The strawberry blonde sighed as she maneuvered through the bustling cafe, wanting nothing more than to go home and sleep for five to sixty years. It hasn't been an entirely good day for her. The small and usually quiet cafe she works at was currently loud and crowded. People complained about everything she brought them. The coffee was too hot. The scones were stale. The soup taste like shit. And someone ran into her, spilling coffee onto her dress then yelled at her to watch were she was going. To make it even better she had a piercing migraine, which seemed to worsen by the second. She glanced up at the clock, not paying attention to where she was going and ran into a hard chest. She braced herself …show more content…
She made her way downtown, stopping a few times at the cross walks, and eventually walked up her front porch steps. Shoving her key into the lock, the threw her bag onto the ground and-after kicking off her sandals- closed the door with her foot. The first thing she did was go into the bathroom, pulling a drawer open and yanking a bottle of Advil out. She flicked the cap off it and flipped it upside down, a single blue pill landing in her hand. She looked inside the container noting there were no more left and sighed, tossing the bottle into the trash can. She put the pill on her tongue and cupped her hands under the sink faucet to drink water. Walking back into the living room, a noise outside the back window caused her to stop in her tracks and turn to look out it. Slowly advancing the window, she noticed a figure sprinting off into the distance. Her face paled, as she reached for the door-nob to the back door. Slowly, she turned it and placed one foot in front of the other, her bare feet coming in contact with the damp
Slowly she began to back away toward back door; she pressed her back against the fly screen and wrapped her hand around the door handle. Footsteps made their way toward their door and a fist banged against the wood, the door ricocheting off the fist and wiggling. Her mother then gasped and slowly walked to the door, wrapping her hand around her belly she opened the door and Djinda darted to hide in the kitchen.
Good thing home is so close, she thought, clutching her bag to her as a rowdy group of skateboarders rolled by. Maybe Lillian will be done with her writing and we can have a nice cup of tea.
“What are you talking about?” She yelled into nothingness as her eyes frantically searched around for any sign of her family.
with fluid and her liver nearly compromised. Her eyes were glazed and her memory failing. The
She couldn’t see inside because of the dirt and cobwebs on the windows. When she turned the doorknob to see if it was locked, the door creaked open as if it had been closed for years. Hesitantly she stepped inside the house and saw a group of people sleeping. As she turned around to leave, the floor creaked, so she ran out of the house, afraid she would wake them up.
Her feet padded by the thick rug running through the middle of the hall she came upon a door. Giving a quick turn of the head she was satisfied that no one was following her and no one appeared to be inside. Rolling through and lifting herself into a crouch she surveyed the surroundings. A large room with four entrances, completely empty apart from
The last customer had just been served and the blond was just desperate to get home. It had been a long day, and the cafe had been short staffed, with only him and Cosette turning up. He had let her leave at six, as she had a date with a boy she had only met once before. Marius, or something along those lines. This left him alone to serve a steady stream of snappy university kids, who were just as tired as him.
"Jared and I have been discussing your behavior the past several weeks and I think we've finally come to the conclusion that it's not working when we punish you."
Billy quickly took off the look of the door and turn open the doorknob she started crawling towards the door. Without hesitation, Bill quickly ran out of there until he was safe, he
It had taken Denise over two hours to complete her investigation. After both Fiona and Denise left, she felt nervous being in the house alone, especially after hearing what Denise had to say. She walked through each room taking the same path they had walked earlier silently wishing Ray was already home.
I gathered together all of the paintings, and finally slipped on my dress, and a pair of white heels, i added a gold thick necklace. Then I heard a knock at the door. King went running and barking. I answered the door and there he was in a tux, he looked so so ? Handsome, I had wanted to touch since the minute I touched him to seen him the man of my dreams a local flower boy, seemed silly but hey he was cute.
Luke put his hand on Mikes shoulder. “Mike I know you don’t believe that bull you’re saying right now.” Toni pleaded with Mike, “You have us so walk away from her.”
Izzi looked around her. Everywhere were colors. The trees with their dark bark and ever changing leaves. The blue of water flowing in a nearby river. The pinks, purples, and oranges of the flowers beneath her feet. She looked down at her feet. And she saw nothing. The wind was all she was. She didn't stand out in the world filled with beauty, all she did was blend in, drifting in the breeze. It made her want to cry. Izzi longed for color. She longed to belong in this world. She wanted it more than anything. She sat in the grass for hours and braided flowers into her colorless hair made of wind. They wouldn't stay in long but she didn't mind, as long as she could have the colors for a moment. Eventually the sun began to set and she headed home.
Harry's eyes go wide for a split second. He starts laughing, "You've got to be kidding me." I stare at him, "Are you being serious?"
Camille Madison woke early in anticipation of the changes the day would bring. She brewed a pot of her favorite French Vanilla flavored coffee and took her first cup out on the terrace. When she purchased this condo several years ago it had been the terrace that she had fallen in love with. The white café table and chairs that adorned this favorite place of solace had been the first furniture purchased; the bedroom ensemble second. The living room and combination dining areas filled up with plush furnishings as well. The condo now reflected the independent yet totally feminine head nurse of the largest ER in Los Angeles County. She lifted the steaming cup and breathed in the aroma before taking a sip and tasting the strong coffee beans laced with the sweet nectar of vanilla. Her eyes closed in appreciation as she took another sip.
