(6) Sexual health services did not utilize patients as group leaders, this was seen as more of an problem than an opportunity. Evaluating and Piloting Services. Sexual Health services involved service users by the use of mystery shoppers. Current and former patients were trained to conduct a standard scenario, shortly after they were to write about their experiences, very similar to the procedures of mystery shoppers in retail environments. The feedback received from their write up reports was then used to design a improved sexual health service model. (6) These reports help reduce frequent visits, waiting times, and improve more friendly customer service practices. The challenges with service users as mystery shoppers were including the resources for proper training and the risk of the service users being too critical during their evaluations. Providing Peer Support in Other Users. Kidney and Stroke teams trained groups of patients and employees to provide support for service users in the time of need. Evaluations showed patients valued and appreciated talking to someone who has had the same experiences or similar and could lend them support to help determine decisions. The challenges faced with providing peer support was finding a sufficient amount of volunteers for the program, peer support has now become apart of kidney services and continues on a volunteer bases with stroke services.
