Many of us know about cyber socializing, and have used some form of it. Whether it’s texting on a cell phone, chatting on Facebook, or sending e-mails, it’s become a part of everyday life. All of these types of modern technology not only make things easier to contact people, but it can go deeper than that and help you stay in touch with maybe a close relative who lives far away, or a friend who just moved away from home. But at the same time, all of these things need to be used carefully because these internet and mobile sources can lead to a harsh reality for people. Out of everyone who participated in this survey, two thirds of them considered general cyber bullying to be different than any other type (Michaud np). In Indonesia, a whopping 53% knew of a child who had been a victim, and 14% actually had a child who’d been cyber bullied (Michaud np). In different countries and the percent of parents who notice a cyber bullying problem with their children, it includes India at with 32%, Brazil with 20%, Saudi Arabia and Canada both at 18%, and United States at 15%, and on a complete global scale, over 10% of parents notice this situation with their child (Michaud np). Astonishingly, in the United States alone, 82% of teen suicides were predicted to have been caused by trouble with the cyber world (Michaud np). Gottfried described this survey as a study to find out how cyber bullying varies around the globe, but cyber bullying isn’t the only problem with technology around the world.
