Cyclone Ita terribly impacted the north part of Queensland by damaging the crops, houses, transports and companies but luckily there was no death. Fallen power lines and power poles lead to 8500 people to live without power. Some houses were without roofs and many trees were unrooted in the streets. The most great damage were the lost crop, over 90 percent in the region have been wiped out and these are the crops that were awfully damaged: flattened cane fields in the Northeast, ruined tomato, eggplant crops and the four Lakeland banana farms lost 20-50 percent of bunched plants and Hope Vale lost all banana trees on its one banana farm. Also the cattle industry has suffered because of broken fences. The greatest economic damage was done
The social and human impacts of cyclone Debbie on the community were heavy with over $1.5 billion in property damage. On Whitsunday islands, the winds reached up to 263 km/h which damaged the power connections to homes and approximately 63 000 properties were effected. Multiple trees fell onto to power lines which caused the power outages. Due to the cyclone mines, all around Queensland were effected. An estimated 10 million tonnes of coal were lost. Mines were flooded which was

One way someone can be prepared for cat 5 hurricane is by already gathering supplies a week before so that the following week no one is rushing trying to find water anywhere in the store. Another way is leaving the state or have enough gas for the trip even if you are staying home you want to have gas especially if you lose power make cook food after the hurricane passes.
One of the biggest reasons why I would love to become part of the staff is that I enjoy helping people. If someone has a question that they ask in chat, I am always on top of messaging them. I feel like as player in a community, it is my respoinsibility to not only enjoy the game I am playing, but for others to enjoy the game as well. I love to communicate with others in the chat, crack jokes, help out; anything I can do to make someone's day special. I think being a bog part in the community
When trying to figure out who was to blame for the failure to provide appropriate responses to Hurricane
Some ways a person or even you can be prepared for a category 5 hurricane are, make sure you have lots of food and water because you never know how long a hurricane could last. Also you can get some flashlights because most likely your power is going to go out or you can even buy a backup generator. Another thing and a smart thing you can do is evacuate somewhere else where the hurricane won't hit. And if the people that do stay home you can board up your windows and pretty much anything that will break really easily.
Hermine weakened while crossing from Florida into Georgia, but still produced sustained winds of 45 mph (72 km/h) at Savannah, with gusts to 58 mph (93 km/h).[77] Farther northeast, Folly Island, South Carolina, reported sustained winds of 44 mph (71 km/h) with gusts to 59 mph (95 km/h),[78] and the pier in Duck, North Carolina, reported sustained winds of 58 mph (93 km/h) with gusts to 73 mph (117 km/h).[79] Heavy rainfall occurred through the Carolinas, reaching 10.72 in (272 mm) in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina.[80] At Norfolk International Airport, wind gusts reached 43 mph (69 km/h).[81] In Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, and Virginia, Hermine's passage left around 274,000 people without power.[40][42][82][83]
The Midwest doesn’t get hurricanes but their outcome is tragic. Hurricanes can cause much destruction and even death. Hurricane Otto included many details common to hurricanes and caused damage and destruction to property and lives that affected the region, but the area has recovered in its aftermath.
Many people go through many hurricanes but in order to prepare for one people need to get supplies for it. Hurricanes come and different categories but there's only one to talk about, how to prepare for a category 5 hurricane. To prepare for a category 5 hurricane everyone would need to get at least 5 cases of water from any store near by like publix, winn dixie, or walmart, also get can foods like ravioli, or chicken noodle soup can foods are good for a hurricane because you can just heat them over a candle if your power goes out.
exteriors which can be vast in size. They form over tropical oceans and can create disaster when they approach the shore. They are formed in the world’s tropics and an example of a cyclone that hit Australian Queensland was cyclone Yasi in 2011. Cyclone Yasi collided with Queensland's Mission Beach on 3 February. This particular cyclone was predicted to have wind speeds of over 295km/hr, with a 500 diameter and affected over 2000km worth of land. "It's a serious event. It's the biggest one that anyone living today has seen in Queensland," stated Professor Jonathan Nott from James Cook University. "We've been lulled into a false sense of security in Queensland because we've been through a fairly quiet time of cyclones since the 1970s".
In the coastal areas of Queensland Cyclone Anthony crossed the coast on 30 of January 2011 Authorities believe it was good preparation for emergency services and the community as they knew a much larger cyclone was brewing in the pacific ocean “cyclone Yasi” which hit early February 3 2011 both dispatched on ????of February 2011. The wind gusts at the centre of the cyclone Yasi reached up to 285 kms/ hr with it moving at 205 km/ hr which tore through the streets and communities of coastal Queensland forcing families out of their homes into the safety of an evacuation centre. The estimated damage cost is $800 million, over 1000 people complained about house and property damage.
Storm mitigation provides a unique challenge with the balancing of the various potential hazards impacting the community. A community must choose based on a risk assessment which hazards have the highest probability to impact their community, therefore, most communities cannot mitigate from every hazard due to associated costs. However, there are many methods by which a community can bridge these gaps to protect themselves when they do not have the means. First, there is education. According to Smith and Petley (2013), an effective community education plan provides the necessary information to all community citizens, so they become aware of the associated risks and provides methods by the community can mitigate those risks (p. 261). An effective
Tropical Cyclones have many secondary effects other than just winds. A major secondary effect that impacts towns and cities is Storm Surge. A Storm Surge is defined as “a rising of the sea, which is a result of wind and atmospheric pressure changes associated with a storm”. This becomes dangerous when certain factors come into play, such as; king tides and when such events approach coastal and unprotected areas. http://www.google.com.au/?gfe_rd=ctrl&ei=fJQlU8vqFsqN8QfrqIHACQ&gws_rd=cr#q=what+is+a+storm+surge
With the dominant cold front impacting the south and south-east area of the state, more prominent rainfall was found, in which QLD experienced wet and generally warm days in the north, and wet and cool days in the south east. On the 25th of the month, North Queensland was impacted from the low pressure system condition, bringing heavy rain, for example most of the Cairns region recorded more than 200mm during the week. With a trough extending from Northern Territory to QLD also brought strengthened conditions to this area of the country. This trough is the beginning of an easterly dip, which are good sources of flood conditions. This weather in November impacted this area of QLD greatly, meaning as the disaster unfolded, the conditions of SE QLD aided the disaster to have an even greater impact.
Throughout the nation, natural, technological, and man-made disasters jeopardizes communities as a whole. Many people rely on their local communities emergency preparedness plans, while they should be utilizing their knowledge, information provided for them, and using their capabilities to ready themselves and their families. The outcome that can come from any disastrous event mainly relies on how you respond to the specific threat, and the steps one takes to minimize the risks of such a scenario. Being from Florida, I have been subject to several types, and forms, of disasters; but the most common and the one that can pose one of the greatest threats is the tropical cyclone, also known as the hurricane. When concerning this
