In Dan Graham’s book, he explains his artworks as well as video techniques and architectural decisions made which pertain to the “self” with some connects to split personalities. In Graham’s “Video, Architecture, and Television” essay, it has different sections pertaining his opinions on how certain techniques, and their notable uses relating to what those uses mean. Similar to Bob/Fred, while he watched the holo-scanners that are placed in his house. Especially, the time when Connie turned into Donna; even though, the event occurred earlier, he reacts to it as if it’s something because it’s been delayed. His reaction is a loss of control because he went through the event already, but because of his split personalities, Bob/Fred forget what happened. Another work by Graham that relates to A Scanner Darkly is Past Future/Split Attention. In this performance,” two people who know each other are in the same space.” (Graham 122) One of them is trying predicts the other person’s future behavior while the other person is trying to recite the other’s past behavior. To see each other to see their present behavior, a mirror reflection or a feedback loop of past/future. Their behaviors depend on or may reflect on what the other’s behavior is. The performers can be deliberate with their actions, altering the course of their behavior. Or a can act unconsciously and everything will be as
The book I choice to read was, “Brian’s Winter”, by Gary Paulsen. This book is about Brian after the private plane he was flying in crashes into the rugged forests of Canada. Brian went through many struggles while trying the best he could to survive in the harsh environment. Some of the biggest events in this story include when he is attacked by a bear, during the major storms and some of his questionable encounters with the wolves. If I were telling a friend about the entire story in two minutes I would say, Brian’s parents were divorced, leading him to visit his father for the first time in a long time. He didn’t know what to expect from the trip though, one thing is for sure, he didn’t expect what actually happened to happen. So Brian
Wayne Williams was charged with murdering two people in Atlanta, Georgia. Shockingly enough, he was also linked to the killing of ten other boys. The way the evidence effected this trial is what makes the case so well known. There were 28 different types of fibers linking Williams to the murder victims. That can be an overwhelming amount of evidence. This case happened in the 1980s and the evidence presented in the case was crucial to proving Williams guilt.

Through the use of techniques and themes, a composer is able to create distinctively visual images when describing the setting and characters in detail which help us to understand and form meaning of what the composer is trying to convey in their texts. The use of techniques such as body language, symbolism, lighting, music and photographic background slides create distinctively visual images same with themes that are being used within the texts such as truth which is evident in the dramatic text ‘The Shoe-Horn Sonata’ by John Misto, the song ‘Lose Yourself’ sang by Eminem, and the film ‘The Eye’ directed by David Moreau and Xavier Palud featuring Jessica Alba. These three texts demonstrate how the responders are impacted and what is
Bruce Dawe, an Australian known poet, born 1930 is still one of the biggest selling and most highly regarded poets of Australia. His ability to write such influential poems has made an impact on a number of people, as each poem can be related to the ordinary living lives of Australians throughout the years. Bruce Dawe's poems are interesting because they comment on the lives of ordinary people. This statement is agreed on. In relation to the statement, three key poems can be linked being Enter Without So Much as Knocking (1959), Homo Suburbiensis (1964) and Drifters (1968).
According to his article, “The Battle Against Fast Food Begins In The Home”, the author, columnist and blogger Daniel Weintraub, argues parents, not fast-food companies or the government are responsible for their child's health and well being. Weintraub supports this claim by providing data from the Center For Public Health Advocacy on the subject of overweight schoolchildren, State law recommendations outlining nutritional standards, and his own experience with the problem. Weintraub intends to convince or persuade the parents or parent to accept the blame for their overweight child. From my standpoint, however, it is clear the
One of the most influential black politicians in American history, Andrew Young has made countless contributions towards the advancement of civil liberties across the globe. In the third chapter of Andrew J. DeRoche’s biography Andrew Young: Civil Rights Ambassador, he successfully details how Young applied his experience in the Civil Rights Movement to his political career to help achieve peace and promote human rights in the United States and throughout the developing world. But, his friend worked with him every day in the off-season. They worked every other day on speed, agility, endurance, and strength. He never quit. His hard work in the off-season paid off, as he played in fourteen out of his team’s sixteen games for the season and averaged the best rushing yards for a wide receiver for the entire NFL, and had eight touchdowns. The

In New Orleans, Andrew Jackson Higgins was known for manufacturing Eureka Boats, or shallow-watercrafts that assisted in the exploration of oil and gas throughout the Louisiana bayous. The investment banker commented that Blaine was “over-liquid and under-levered” due to the fact that Blaine was debt-free and also held $231 million in cash, a 39% of its total assets. The pros of this type of capital structure are that it gives the company more freedom when making business decision and disturbing its cash. And the company with more liquidity reacts quicker under an economic or industry hardship. The cons of this type of capital structure are that it is wasting the potential of expanding its business by leveraging/borrowing. Too large of a cash position also signal waste as the funds are generating very little return as well as make the company a takeover target. The shareholders generally expect the company
