If you enjoy a challenge and have the patience of a saint, then Dark Souls 3 is the game for you. The Dark Souls series is an action role-playing game that is infamous about its difficulty. The past games are known for its sharp learning curve and unforgiving mechanics; Dark Souls 3 is no exception. But don’t let that discourage you, or the well-known community war cry “GIT GUD” or “Get Good” that seems to draw many people away from the series, I know it did for me. But I decided to throw caution into the sprays of my own blood and despair and pick it up, and after a few hours of playing I would have to say that Dar Souls 3 is a difficult game, but not as impossible as many would have you believe.

These classes dictate what your stats, level, and gear you start out with. These classes are what you would expect from a fantasy based game. From the Knight, Cleric, to Sorcerer, yes there is magic as well. It’s not just sword and board or swinging a zweihander. You can focus on spell casting for combat, but I’m not going to get into the specifics.

Now, I’m not an expert on the game, but if you’re new to the series and want to give it a try I suggest starting out as a Knight. The Knight starts out if really good armor, sword, and shield. From what many other experienced players have said, most of that armor is good through a good chunk of the game, so you won’t be needed to worry about upgrading. If you go the Knight route prioritize your Vigor and Strength while increasing your Endurance and Stamina as you need it. If you want to wear more heavy duty armor put points into Vitality as needed.
