In the two stories The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet and Pyramus and Thisby they both were star-crossed lovers and made their own choices throughout the stories. For example they chose to love each other even though they knew it wouldn't end well. Personal choices affect the characters more than destiny because they decided to get married and they killed themselves.

Decisions and choices- an act of or need for making up one's mind, and the right, power, or opportunity to choose. Fate- a four letter word, a noun defined as the development of events beyond a person's control, regarded as being determined by a supernatural power. These are what many can believe as the most powerful forces that shape our future. The playwright, William Shakespeare, wrote a tragedy of two youngsters in love. This tale was filled with drama, mixed-emotions, laughs, heartbreaks, and affection. Written as a tragedy, the play had ended like other Shakespearean tragedies had ended; in death. The death was inevitable because of decisions and choices made fates were shaped and had played a part in the events that blossomed the love of two star-crossed lovers. As an illustration, picture two families at war with each other, a feud that everyone gets caught in the crossfire. For instance, when innocent citizens are tired of watching their supposed ‘peaceful’ streets get disturbed by the feud, and as the prologue states, “A pair of star-crossed lovers take their life.” (Prologue.6) The feud was poison for the city of Verona and its citizens. Besides crummy choices were made, therefore a cursed destiny was created for two naive lovers.

The Renaissance was the 'rebirth ' of classical learning and was also the time when Science challenged many traditional Christian beliefs which resulted in Catholics fighting Protestants; the Gunpowder plot and the Spanish Armada. Shakespeare chose to dramatise conflict as it was the context in which he was writing plays. It is therefore arguable that this period was characterised by irreconcilable opposites in politics, religion and art. Nothing in the world can exist without its opposite- just as love cannot exist without hate, violence cannot exist without peace.

She then meets Romeo and shows she is not as shy and innocent as we think. Romeo Juliet is overlooked as a love story and it's more than that Romeo and Juliet love is rushed . For example While most good relationships take years to build, Romeo and Juliet met two hours before they decided to get married, romeo and Juliet fell in “deep love“ for no other reason but looks and appearances. This is proven on many occasions threw out the story, for example at the feast when Romeo thinks Juliet are attractive, just for that one reason he approaches her and lands a kiss. “My only love sprung from my only hate!” Said juliet indicating that she already loves romeo after the first time they met (1.5.138). This type of fowl rushed love, no one knew about their love. This causes a lot of potentially avoidable problems.

His quick actions overcome his words and the situation mostly concludes with failure. In Romeo and Juliet, Romeo made a rash and desperate decision to fall into love with Juliet resulting in death and sorrow.

In act one scene two in the streets of Verona, Benvolio, Romeo's cousin, tries to convince Romeo to go to the Capulet's party to find another woman and forget his old love, Rosaline. Finally, Romeo agrees and tells his cousin Benvolio, "I'll go along, no such sight to be shown, But to rejoice in splendor of mine own." When Romeo agrees to go to the party he has just chosen to affect his future based on the decision. He has agreed to take the risk of angering the Capulet's and whatever consequences come with angering them. Romeo determines that based on what happens at the party will choose what happens next in his life. Romeo left the party not only leaving the Capulets angered, but also left him rebounding with Juliet, because of hi old love, Rosaline.
