The White-tail deer can often be found all over southern Canada and most parts of the United States. Their range extends throughout Central America to Bolivia. This sophisticated animal's habitat range is usually less than a square mile. Some of the White-tail deer's habitats include grasslands, prairies and plains, mountains, and forests. These deer prefer a more sheltered habitat; they often reside in forests, including hardwoods, coniferous, and tropical forests. However they may reside in forests such as tropical forests for a more sheltered habitat. The White-tale deer can adapt to their many habitats and they have incredibly strong muscles in their leg that allow them to run up to speeds such as 30 miles per hour! One early saturday morning my dad (Shawn), my cousin (trey), and I woke up at 2:30 a.m. to go duck hunting. When we get out there we are one of the first people there and 4:00 comes along and we sent out to our spot. When we come to a spot that boats can't go we have to walk for about 15 minutes. As we are putting out the last of are decoys we here so more people throwing out decoys and they are pretty close. Well, we start talking to them and they are pretty nice and they ask if they can hunt with us and we said yes. Then, daylight comes and a group of ducks come in and we shot but I was the only one that killed one that we could find and it´s a drake which is a male mallard. Then, my dad shoots and we could not find his ducks.

The second thing that I got from dad was my deer hunting rifle. I know I earned that because I am very careful with guns when walking through the woods. He saw how I took care of them so that year he got me a deer hunting rifle for Christmas. Every man knows that you don’t get rid of your very first gun that your dad gets you. It should be a law that you don’t get rid of it. That was probably one of the best Christmas gifts that I have ever gotten in my entire life. What do you think of when you think of hunting. Hunting Is a sport but hunting has many different rules and different forms. What I meen by that is that laws change every state and county. Some states have deer hunting, some have dove and others don’t. The laws can change from state to state as well. I will talk these subjects in this paper.

Many people have misconceptions about hunting. One such misconception is that hunting is easy and any person can go sit in the woods and wait for an animal to cross the hunter’s path. However, people who believe this are sorely mistaken. Hunting is not just sitting in the woods with a rifle; there are many other aspects that must be considered. An individual must have all preparations complete, purchase or gather the equipment needed, and know what to listen for while in the woods.

It was my favorite time of the year again, deer hunting season. Going to my cabin up in northern Minnesota and doing what I love was never a let down. The peacefulness, liveliness, and belongingness of being in the woods made deer hunting the most enjoyable part of the year.
