One dark, Stormy August night on my deer lease in the area of Newhope, Ar I risked my life walking back from my four wheeler to my cabin. From my cabin to my four wheeler was a good three miles or so. This night I risked my life, and it could have been gruesome. First, At about eleven o'clock I was riding around on my deer lease just listening to music and looking for deer. Also I was checking my game cameras. Next, I checked my deer camera and I thought I would make a circle and see if I could see any deer. So we are about halfway through making a circle and we start seeing some deer. Also, we saw a really big ten point, but it's about eleven thirty now and it's getting frigid . Next, I was going up this enormous rugged hill and the next
Many people consider hunting dangerous. This is not necessarily correct. Before any person is legally allowed to hunt in most states, they must undergo a required
Fishing and Game Warden, a police office that protects the wildlife, is a career I wish to pursue because it’s outdoors, Involves animals, and pay. I have been interested in this career for about a half a year now and what made me interested in this career was that it was outdoors and it involved helping animals. Although this career has lots of stuff I’m interested about it comes with some challenges like the job hiring is really low. Therefore, I’m willing to work harder to have this job because I think that animals should be protected and protect people from them.
It was the middle of October, and it was finally time for my long awaited moose hunt. I have waited ever since I was a little girl for this opportunity, and it was finally here. So, my father and I packed up our stuff and left the warmth of Phoenix. We were leaving the "Valley of the Sun" and headed for a place called Wyoming. After two days and fourteen long hours of driving, we made it to our hunting unit.
At age 17, a muzzle loader elk hunt in Nevada was one of the coolest things that could have ever happened to me. And a muzzleloader tag for the Jarbidge Wilderness Area 072 was one of the most awesome places for it to happen.
There is no other big-game animal in North America like the white-tailed deer. The whitetails habitat is so widespread that it covers just about all of North America and parts of Central America. The white-tailed deer is the most commonly hunted big game animal ever. Before the settlers arrived, an estimated 30 million whitetails inhabited what is now the United States and Canada. But as settlers pursued them for food and market hunters slaughtered them with snares, traps, and set guns, the deer population underwent a disastrous decline. By 1900, only 400,000 whitetails remained.
Today I am going to talk about the white tailed deer and coyote population across South Carolina. As you can imagine the white-tailed deer population has decreased and the coyote population has increased. I think that one day the white-tailed deer will be an almost extinct species and the coyote will end up being a species that is overpowering the United States of America. This is important because if the coyote do come overpowering, then mankind population will start decreasing and only people in bomb shelters will survive but only for a few years.
Early cattle drives headed west to the California gold fields after 1850, when cattle worth $5 to $10 a head in Texas would garner five to 20 times that amount in San Francisco. Most drives to California took five or six months. Some ranchers held contracts to supply beef to frontier forts and to Indian reservations in West Texas, Oklahoma and New Mexico beginning in the late 1850s. Cattle ranching virtually halted during the Civil War years, as the frontier retreated. Beginning in 1866, however, ranching and cattle trailing expanded rapidly. Cattle drives to northern and western markets, and later to railroad-loading facilities, started in earnest in 1866, when an estimated 260,000 head of cattle crossed the
White-tailed deer (Odocoileus virginianus) is one of the largest spread mammals in the North region of America. White-tailed deer are grayish brown in the winter and red-brown in the summer (Curtis and Sullivan 2001). Compared to female deer (does), male deer (buck) have antlers and they weigh between 125-200 pounds. Female deer weigh less than male deer. (Curtis and Sullivan 2001). White-tailed deer are opportunistic animals that take advantage of unexploited areas. They are mostly found on the edge of the forest, shrub lands, agricultural fields, open grasslands, and suburban areas (Curtis and Sullivan 2001).
The White-tail deer can often be found all over southern Canada and most parts of the United States. Their range extends throughout Central America to Bolivia. This sophisticated animal's habitat range is usually less than a square mile. Some of the White-tail deer's habitats include grasslands, prairies and plains, mountains, and forests. These deer prefer a more sheltered habitat; they often reside in forests, including hardwoods, coniferous, and tropical forests. However they may reside in forests such as tropical forests for a more sheltered habitat. The White-tale deer can adapt to their many habitats and they have incredibly strong muscles in their leg that allow them to run up to speeds such as 30 miles per hour! This is quite an advantage when it comes to running from predators. The White-tail deer has quite simple needs for a healthy life. Shelter from harmful weather or predators, food and water, and the space to find food and water, and to attract a mate.

A young deer is walking through the woods. All of the sudden its mother is shot. Many people know the story of the fawn named Bambi. However, many don't know much about his kind, the whitetail deer. Many people only think of deer as an animal to hunt and eat its meat, but it’s much more. In order to fully understand the whitetail deer, one must understand its complex anatomy, its interesting way of mating, and its simple diet.
What do you think of when you think of hunting. Hunting Is a sport but hunting has many different rules and different forms. What I meen by that is that laws change every state and county. Some states have deer hunting, some have dove and others don’t. The laws can change from state to state as well. I will talk these subjects in this paper.
There are many methods used to count deer. The capture – recapture method is the most used because it is more accurate than methods that rely on the human senses to count and estimate a population.
It was August one year ago. My friends and I were out at the mall when we realized it was 9:00 p.m., and we had to go home. So we decided to take the route through the woods; not a very good idea, now that I think about it. It was very dark outside and the only light was the slight moonlight that we could see through branches of old trees, covering the sky like a blanket. There were sticks, twigs, and a lot of large rocks along the pathway, which made us even more cautious to not twist our
There are multiple reasons deer removal companies charge for their services. In addition to paying wages, they must also pay fees to properly dispose of the deer. Each removal job is unique, the price a consumer pays depends on the supplies and effort required to clear the deer away.
