"What is a hero?" The word hero can mean whatever a person wants it to mean. Many people define a role model or person they think is a hero out of their occupations. However, a person does not become a hero because of their occupation or what they do that we envy. A hero is a person who takes a bold step or achievement that requires courage, bravery and a kind heart to do it, and the act is normally done for others. Heroes are not heroes out of their occupations like a doctor. For example, a doctor’s work is to save lives, so when they do this, it is what we expect of them. If a doctor saves a drowning child from a swimming pool, he becomes a hero. The doctor demonstrates an act of bravery and courage for the child. So a hero can be any person with or without an occupation, who performs a bold act for others. A hero just has to be someone to sacrifice something for others. Heroes can come from anywhere. Heroes do not have to do action acts such as saving a person. Heroes can even be from acts of kindness. Some …show more content…
A hero goes through many difficulties in a journey that poses so many dangers of failure. Many people in such situations would give up and turn back. However, heroes persist on despite challenges and difficulties. Heroes are ordinary people in difficult situations that require courage and even raise fear in them. However, they manage to overcome their fear in order to persist on until they accomplish their mission. The difference between those who become heroes and those who do not is their courage to face difficult situations and never giving up until they accomplish their goal. Their courage allows them to persist on with any challenge that comes their way, despite standing a slight chance of winning. They take up the slim chance and manage to use it to their advantage until they achieve what they intend to achieve for
Heroes come in different shapes, sizes, and looks. Maybe someone you saw on the street one day was heroic for saving someone’s life in a car accident. A hero to me is someone who can be brave in situations that aren’t so safe, and take a risk to make sure everyone is okay, no matter who
“Heroes represent the best of ourselves, respecting that we are human beings. A hero can be anyone from Gandhi to your classroom teacher, anyone who can show courage when faced with a problem. A hero is someone who is willing to help others in his or her best capacity.” (Ricky Martin). A hero is someone who is admired and valued for their courage, outstanding achievements, and noble qualities. A hero to one person may not be a hero to another. I strongly agree with this definition for a hero to a person is not always a hero to others. In saying this, my hero is Isabelle Bruce Reid because she was the first female to qualify in Australia as a veterinarian. To me, Isabelle Reid was a name in history who changed the world, is valued and is a great role model.
A hero is someone who can be looked up to for their actions. Doctors, Firefighters and missionaries are all examples
A hero is someone who helps others and strives to make the world a better place. Our world is shrouded in the darkness of others and heroes are often the light to our darkness. While most people get lost in our world, some people help shine a light on others and make the world a better place. An example of this is a mission worker spreading hope and joy throughout the world. Heroes often sacrifice themselves or their power for a greater good.
Accompanied by strong determination and perseverance, heroes are able to achieve success in their doings. Heroism is finding a resolution to a situation, without the hesitation of giving up. A hero perseveres instead of accepting failure, and learns from the challenges that they endure in order to become a stronger individual. However, to be determined, a hero must come into terms with the difficulties and challenges blocking them from their goal. A hero accepts obstacles, and will still be able to persevere through them due to the commitment of determination. For example, Martin Luther King showed determination. Even though others didn’t share the same views as he, Martin refused to
A hero is not always a person that can fly or that has superhuman powers. A hero is somebody that helps another person out in a time of need. This can be anything from being in a life or death situation, or just stepping in and helping when another person is getting bullied. A Hero can be anybody, young, old, man or woman. However, you do have to have some special characteristics that not everybody has. Heroes have to want to help, put others before themselves, be brave and courageous, and be a leader.
“A hero is someone who has given his or her life to something bigger than oneself.”~ Joseph Campbell. Heroes are people that have the capability and willingness to give their lives for a greater good. A hero does not have to die in the process, but does try and help others than him/herself. Sometimes, a hero is someone that starts out ordinary, but then makes themselves extraordinary with their effort and dedication. Ultimately, a hero is someone who helps others in times of need and is determined to help them, no matter the obstacle or challenges ahead.
A hero is defined as someone who makes and impact for the greater good. All hero’s pursue courage, knowledge and most importantly perseverance. A true hero never fails to let their courage shine through no matter what; it’s what can get them through any hardship. Winston S. Churchill said “Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.”
There are many types of heroes (such as the ones in comic books, myths, movies, or even just everyday life heroes) but all of them have perseverance when they’re going through a conflict. Heroes are role models and they’re people that we look up too. They all have unique and special qualities that make one another different from each other. For example policemen battle crime everyday and when they’re overcoming a conflict they have determination, courage and other traits that people admire them for and that make them as a hero. Typically a hero is admired for their achievement/actions and qualities.

Some of the bravest heroes in the world are the ones fighting the battles nobody knows about. The boy who stuck up for his friend got nothing but a black eye and a nervous “thank you,” from a friend far too scared and relieved to care much for his sacrifice. This boy became a hero because he wasn’t afraid to step out and do what was right, even without any recognition or reward. A true hero doesn’t do things simply for praise or attention. They are willing to sacrifice themselves for someone else’s well-being, and that makes them a resounding positive in people’s

Not everyone is born to be a hero, but anyone can achieve the title of a hero by simply helping others in various ways. Therefore, a single act can establish one as a hero or heroine no matter who they are.
