1. Martina McBride was able to crank out three top charting records in one year: "Love's the Only House," "I Love You," and "There You Are." There's so much love coming from that woman! She was able to have a huge following relate to her, and hence, made her the number one chick in Country music.
2. Dixie Chicks also was able to lead three records to the top of the Country charts. As a group, they wrote, "Goodbye Earl," "Cold Day in July," and "Without You." They took more of the loss inspired route. Either way, they made it out handsomely by the end of the year.

Both are beautifully written and performed.

Commercially, some women have experienced extreme success while under the country music umbrella. Shania Twain, one of the most popular artists in the 1990s, “Not only is [...] country music’s most successful female artist, she also recorded the genre’s most successful album of all time, Come On Over in 1997” (McCarthy, par. 3). Taylor Swift’s 2013 arena tour to support her last country album was the most lucrative tour in North America that year, bringing in more than $113 million in ticket revenue (Sisario, par. 16). Critically, women have fared extremely well in recent years. A movement to make music acknowledging the genre’s roots has been lead by a group of female country musicians- to the admiration of critics and fans alike, if they get the chance to hear the music. Since 2014, seven of fifteen nominees for the Grammy Award for country album of the year have been women, with two of the three winners being female (Leight, par. 28-30). If women are given the opportunity to be heard on the radio and develop a fanbase, the chances to achieve a high level of prosperity are just as high as their male counterparts’. The level of critical success experienced by some new female artists shows that women and the themes they portray in their songs appeal to many people, even if the music is not being heard by the
There have been many stars throughout the years in country music. Two of the most iconic are Alan Jackson and George Strait. Alan Jackson hit his peak in the late 90s and early 2000s. He has not been as productive as of 2015, but he is still creating some music. George Strait was most productive in the mid to early 90s and like Alan he is at the end of his career. Country music was dramatically affected by these two and they both did it with class. They always made music that was family friendly and anyone could listen to it.
My wife and I celebrated our two-year anniversary in August. “Whatever It Is” by Zac Brown and Keith Stegall had been on the radio for years when we met. It is funny how a song written so far in advance of an event can still mean so much in a person’s life. "Whatever It Is" exemplifies the adoring relationship I have with my wife in the way it makes me smile and want to sing, the way the lyrics remind me of all the ways I appreciate and love her, and because it was our wedding song.
She began singing solo’s at New Bethel Church. At the age of fourteen Aretha’s talent for singing was recognized by her father, and he started managing her shortly after, so he could get her a recording deal. She started off by going on the road with her father and singing at various churches while he preached. This resulted in Aretha Franklin getting signed to her first record deal with J.V.B. Records Label. Her first studio album was titled “Songs Of Faith”. Although this did not put her on the map as the Queen of Soul. Aretha decided at the age of 18 that she wanted to go in the direction of Sam Cooke and sing Pop music. It was not until she signed with the Columbia Records in 1960, that she had her first single chart the Billboard on the Hot 100 with her song “Won’t Be Long” off her first pop studio album Aretha: With the Ray Bryant Combo. With her talent Franklin was able to record in diverse genres such as vocal jazz, blues, standards, rhythm and blues and doo-wop. In 1962, she released two more studio albums: ‘The Electrifying Aretha Franklin’ and ‘The Tender,The Moving,Swinging Aretha Franklin’. Her number-one R&B singles are “Respect” in 1967, “Chain Of Fools” in 1967, “Think” in 1967, and “Share Your Love With Me” also in 1967. In 1968 Aretha performed at Dr. Martin Luther King’s Funeral. She also performed at the presidential inauguration of Jimmy Carter. Doing her music is the reason why Franklin is where she is now and why she is known as the queen of
Aaliyah was my best friend, we told eachother everything, I was there with her when she first recorded her first song, we sang together, we even wrote a song together, i thought of her like a little sister, little did I know of the short time I had with her. I remember when I first heard of her, she was performing in Las Vegas with the famous singer Gladys Knight. You should have seen my face full of shock and awe as I heard this eleven year old’s voice, the way she hit all the right notes, and how her voice blended perfectly with Gladys was amazing. From that point on I knew she was going to be a superstar, and that I wanted her, no needed to have her in one of my albums. Three years later, yet again she surprises me by her debut album with

Country music is a genre that some might absolutely love and some might absolutely hate. It is a style of music that developed in the southern and western U.S. and often contains lyrics relating to the lives of people who live in the country. While there are a lot of different types of country music, a very popular country artist of this time is Eric Church. Church brings a bit of a twist to country music, with really telling us how he feels. Talking about one of his songs in particular, “homeboy” about a lost young man needing to “come on home, boy.”
People will always need help and I think that when you do not feel secure, there is always important to call for help. My second song was “I will Survive” Gloria Gaynor because sometime after a break up, some people feel unconfident and not safety, but after a time passes, people can come along with that security that they used to have before.
Attention material: She is the most popular female artist since 2006 when she started as a country singer; she has won many Grammy Awards, Kids Choice Awards and People’s Choice Awards with her incredible talent. She is generous, creative and successful; this could be no other than our beloved Taylor Swift.
In 1958, she continued to produce another string of hits including “Stupid Cupid”, “Everybody’s Somebody’s Fool”, “My Heart Has a Mind of Its Own”, and “Don’t Break the Heart that Loves You”, which all came in at number one. Her hit singles continue to be popular today among many audiences.
Set in the American South, the song “Goodbye, Earl,” written by Dennis Linde and performed by the Dixie Chicks, is a comedic story of vengeance and retribution. Best friends throughout high school, Wanda and Mary Anne part ways after graduation, but eventually meet back up to murder Earl, the abusive husband of Wanda. Using double entendres, strong imagery, and a light tone, Linde and the Dixie Chicks conveyed the strength of Southern women through their song, but also created controversy with a divisive music video.
