Taxation: this term means the money that each business pays on each product and that the business sale.
The taxes are levied by the national government like with type of taxes called the income tax and the local government which may deal with the business rates with the products they are selling to the customers.
Taxation has a very important purpose to the government because it helps it to raise revenue and also enables it to discourage many activities that the business do and encourage others by lowing the rates of taxes so that they can be able to start up.
These are some of the examples of taxes that business use
Corporation tax:
This type of tax deals with taxes on the profits that are made by the companies like energy companies.
Income tax:
This type of tax is all about the income the people who are self employed like the sole traders and other people who get income like the employees in the business like the people working in the Tesco.

Business taxes can have a huge impact on the profitability of businesses and the amount of business investment. Taxation is a very important factor in the financial investment decision-making process because a lower tax burden allows the company to lower prices or generate higher revenue, which can then be paid out in wages, salaries and/or dividends. Business taxes include, Federal Income Tax; a tax levied by a national government on annual income, Payroll Tax; a tax an employer withholds and/or pays on behalf of their employees based on the wage or salary of the employee, Unemployment Tax; a federal tax that is allocated to unemployment agencies to fund unemployment assistance for laid-off workers, and Sales Tax; a tax imposed by the government at the point of sale on retail goods and services. Sales tax is based on a percentage of the selling prices of the goods and services. Consumers pay sales taxes, but effectively, business pay them since the tax increases consumer’s costs and causes them to buy less.

Taxes is when the state takes a percentage of the money you make to help the community or the state. Also one reason we get taxed is to pay off the government workers. Another reason we get taxed is to pay for the public buildings and public roads we use like libraries, schools, and highways. Finally another reason we get taxed is to help the poor or less unfortunate also to help an organization.
Examples of influences are when Government makes changes to the law. By not following and adapting to the changes, can result in business closure or prison sentences. A business which is looking for improvements, will deliver the same service or product for less price. If the business is not cutting down the prices, it can lead to customers going elsewhere as well as when the organisation is not looking for innovation and for improving its products.
Taxes are the dollars that we pay to government to supply the services that are not or can not be provided through the free enterprise system. Taxes have been around since the beginning of organized societies. They come in various forms. Most common are income taxes both federal and local government. These taxes are assessed on the amount of income a person earns. Other taxes come in the form of user taxes; these taxes are imposed on the people that are using the goods being taxed, such as gas tax, alcohol tax, sales tax, and luxury taxes. Property taxes make up the major revenues for local and city governments. Furthering the burden of taxation are taxes that are attached to such bills as utility
An economic factor that might affect Tesco is the demand of the consumer and customer which will decrease with the different problems; people are having in the world. As the demand decrease so the economy of the business will decrease and the profit of the business will decrease too. This refers in the fiscal and monetary, for example since when the government decided to raise the VAT from 17.5% to 20%, the business increase their goods price and due to that reason the customers do not purchase enough goods like they used.
Tax policy: I will need to look at certain levels of tax. If tax is
Taxation is a levy or a charge imposed by a government on its citizens to raise revenue that finances public spending. The government of every country of the
Tax system is a legal system of imposing and collecting taxes from the citizens of the country. As it has been stated by Albert Einstein, the hardest task in the world is to understand the tax system of a country. The United States’ tax system is so complicated that its tax code contains almost 3 million words and 6,000 pages. Moreover, the taxes implied by city and state governments add more complexity to the federal taxation system. In this case, we do not need to understand the complexity of tax code system in order to get acquainted with the significant role of taxes in American society.
The businesses among the process of production, collect the taxes from the products they sold and it is then given to the government. Therefore, it is a general consumption tax because the tax ultimately falls on the final consumer. VAT is also referred as an indirect tax because it is collected by the government from the seller (the businesses) and not the final consumer who pays the tax. This process of adding a tax in each stage of production differentiates itself from a sales tax (Anastakis, N.D.). Dimitry Anastakis, demonstrated this difference where he gives the following example, “if a sales tax of 10 percent is applied to a desk worth $1,000, then the end customer buying the desk from a desk retailer would pay $100 in sales tax and $1,000 to the desk retailer” (N.D.). Therefore, all others involved in each step of production of the desk would pay no tax only the consumer. Further, Anastakis states, “If a VAT of 10 percent is applied to the same desk, the end customer will pay $100 in VAT. If the desk builder has purchased wood and supplies for the desk totaling $400, he/she is thus assessing $600 of value that he/she has added in creating the desk. The desk builder would pay the 10 percent VAT of $40 on the supplies. When he/she remits payment of the VAT to the government, he/ she will remit the total VAT assessed on the end value of the desk ($100) minus what he/she has already paid ($40), to total $60 based on the added value” (N.D.).
I’ve summed up the introduction of Taxation to these slight words. Taxation is defined as a way that the government able to generate or collect revenue from the citizen of one’s nation through different sources. As what I’ve learned from Taxation course that there are two types of taxation, direct which are paid by the taxpayer directly to the government, and indirect which are collected by an intermediary (like a retail store) from the consumer. The intermediary who will file the tax return later and forward the amount of the money to the government with the return. This tax is applicable to organizations and individuals. In this reflection, I would like to highlight what I learned of business and individual taxation, the experience on working with a group for the project and what challenges I faced and how I was able to get past.
