Darkness. It’s everywhere. It consumes me. Light. A small sliver of light shines upon an eerie face, yet I still can’t quite make it out. The faces body moves toward me. Poke. Something sharp stabs through the layers of my skin. It goes deep. Plunging into my soul. Tired. My eyelids grow heavy and the world blurs. Darkness. I awake. My eyelids, still heavy, struggle to open. Finally they do. They open to an unknown world. A world I have not seen before. Four stone walls surround me. No windows. A small chandelier dangles above me. It’s crystals illuminate the room. Beneath me lies pillows. Large soft pillows. There is one pillow for every color of the rainbow. Covering the floor around me is white carpet with splotches of red in various locations. Looking back at the stone walls I notice the paintings. Zoo animals and children all playing together. In the center of the wall to the left of me is a door. Overall the room is pleasant, but something isn’t right. I stand up and walk over to the door. It’s unlocked. Mildly surprised I step away, scared of what might await me on the other side. I wait a few seconds. After a few seconds, turn into minutes, I realize that I can no longer stand this room. The odd feeling is so overwhelming it’s almost sickening. I grip the door knob. It’s cold. So cold that I realize how hot the rest of the room is and how sweaty I am. I turn the cold knob and push. I open the door carefully only to find another room. This room practically mirrors the other one except for one exceptions. In place of the pillows is a table with two chairs and two platters upon the top of it. Growing curious, I decided to look under the platters. To my horror, I found two eyeballs and a heart. I screamed. They couldn’t be real could they? I stumbled away from the table. The door to the room slammed shut. The slam made the whole room shake. Or maybe that was just me. I lifted up one of my hands. It was trembling uncontrollably.
“WELCOME TO THE DEVIL’S MANSION!” boomed a voice out of nowhere. I shrieked again and frantically glanced around the room. I was still the only one in there.
“Please whoever’s there I beg of you, let me go!” I cried out to the disembodied voice. For several moments there
I lugged my bags up to my room and collapsed onto the bed. It was on the second floor of the house and the window looked out over the backyard that was shadowed by the surrounding forest. The floor was covered in light grey carpet and the wall painted a plain off white. A dark, wooden bed took up most of the room, pale fairy lights haphazardly thrown along the headboard. Two matching bedside tables sat on either side of the bed and an empty desk sat opposite it.
We are trapped in here with these ghosts and they are surrounding us and we have no way out of this gloomy room.
That night, I tucked myself in under the white covers of the spacious king bed. I awoke later in the evening to hear a thump coming from upstairs. I snuck out of bed, careful not to wake John. I crept upstairs, the wooden floorboards rocking beneath my feet. Pushing the door ajar, I peered through to see what was there. I pushed the door open completely, searching for a cause of the noise.
My legs are shaking with pain, but I need to know where I am and what strange things lie outside of that door way. Slowly I am making my way there, I hear people having a conversation just outside. I haven’t a clue what they are saying, it seems to be in some odd language. Finally I’m at the door. Terrified, I grab the knob and start to open it. It squeaks when I swing it open. In the hall I see no one, just white walls with white tile. “What the,” I say to out loud. I could have sworn I heard someone. My eye catches my room number, 387, it has my name on it. I look right and left, but see nothing expect florescent lighting and shut doors. I go to the door across from mine and try to open it. Locked, that’s odd. I try the next one, locked once again. I keep going, now at room 365 I give the knob a turn and it actually comes open. I hesitantly wander into the area. It looks the same as mine, minus the painting on one of the walls. It is an extremely abnormal painting. It depicts an out of the ordinary creature. “Why would this be in a hospital?” I whisper to myself.
I proceed past the desk and down a long narrow hallway. It was dark like a haunted house. I twirl my key in my hand.
I snapped back into reality and opened my door. I stepped out into the narrow hallway, and I rested my hand on the door knob. The door was almost closed when I had a sudden urge to sneak one last glance at my room. Not being able to let go of my room, I cracked the door open again. My eyes rested on the skeleton of the room, and I gently closed the door.
My eyes are stinging from the bright florescent light hanging from the ceiling, like the feeling of uneasiness thats been settling in my chest since i woke up on this thin peice of foam. It smells used and pissy, it reminds me of the yoga matts we used in my middle school gym. If it wasnt for the dead bolted door and the cold concrete floor i'd have thought this small room with no windows would be a prime location for me and my two younger sisters to play hide and seek. There goes that feeling again reminding me that this is no game. I hear foot steps aproaching and someone playing with a key in the door. Serena is the youngest of the 3 of us but it's hard to tell she's only 11 because she's tall and plays basketball. Geraldine, . the middle
I jolt awake. “Must have been a bad dream” I thought to myself. I looked around and was shocked at my surroundings. A destroyed hospital room. The paint on the walls is peeling and it smells like old sheets and medicine. The beds are covered in rust and pieces of the ceiling have fallen on the floor. The room is dark, but the sun is shining through the barricaded windows. I rip the needles out of my arms and struggle to stand up. I put on my clothes that were still neatly folded under the bed. I walk out of the room. There were blood stains on the wall and random hospital supplies thrown on the floor. My heart starts to race. I try to think of what could have happened. While I was thinking I was snapped out of my thoughts by a banging behind me. I turn around to see a door, bolted shut. I decide not to open it. I begin to walk
Then suddenly, a disconcerting fear latches onto your cold shoulder holding you tight. What if these walls eat you alive? What if the only things you will ever see ever again are the scuffed tile floors, plain walls, and flickering fluorescent lights? The fear makes your head spin, yet it yanks you back to this moment with its boney, thin, gray
Just like the entrance, this floor was completely deserted. Dust covered the surfaces and the lights flickered. Suddenly, you saw something move in the corner of your eye and you immediately shot towards it, only to find completely stillness. Confused, you rushed forward, just wanting to hopefully find Harry and getting out as quick as
I walk back in through the back door and immediately turn on the light. I fall down to my knees. Ten people I don't even know are strung up in different ways all around the room. Some by their necks, others by their toes, a few even by their hair. All have their eyes dug out and open gaping mouths. All are hanging about a foot above my height I cry but I got back up. I am determined to destroy this madman. As I walk to the stairs, staring at all the bodies, I hear a sound like something is dropped down the stairs.
One day, I was walking home after a hard day studying for the math exam. The sun had gone to sleep and the moon took his place as the darkness surrounded me. The night, it surrounded everything, ate anything stay in its way, it would never hold back and demolish everything. It was frosty as I was locked in a fridge. The street was quiet and derelict, the way that the glow the streetlight glow was eerie,
I slowly open my eyes and I am terrified. Where am I? How did I get here? I can hear many loud booms which I presume to be the constant shelling of my brothers-in-arms. I see syrettes, saws and lots of black rats lying dead with unearthly expressions of anguish on their grotesque faces. There is fresh blood on the floor next to me, a bitter metallic smell penetrating my nose. I close my eyes for a second to regain my composure and when I open them fragments of information start coming back to me.
When the light came, I was dropped onto the ground of a room that was completely vibrant. The walls were an extremely bright green, and I could barely open my eyes. All of a sudden, the room got dark and clowns appeared all over the room. One by one, they started walking towards me, each holding a different weapon. The first one held a baseball bat. The second held a gun. They all stood next to me, and they all held something dangerous. The ground started to rise above us, and we rose high into the air. We stopped in a different room, where there was a large`table in the center of the room. There was a woman whom I’ve never seen before sitting there. She had pink hair, but everything else about her seemed normal. She called me over and told me to sit. I walked over to the table and sat across from her.
“We have to get them out of there!” I heard voices yelling out in the distance, but was to lightheaded to know where they were coming from.
