The most vivid memory I recall is of the first trip I ever made to my happy place, Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. Nothing could ever compare to those 5 days of pure happiness, without a single worry in the world. I truly believe this one little trip shaped the way I want to live the rest of my life. The trip to our destination was long, yet worth it. Me and my boyfriend (Tate) had long drive with many ups and downs. About halfway there, stopped in a quaint little town on the outskirts of Tennessee, both of our iPhone maps stopped working. It was perfectly okay though, because it was basically a straight shot to our destination. This long journey was full of excitement and anticipation to get there. As we made it …show more content…
The vibe of the whole place was like the country, yet we were in the city. Although Dollywood was exhilarating; Gatlinburg was a close second. Gatlinburg is really where the city yet country atmosphere comes into play. We started our journey passing through the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, and let me just tell you, it was astonishing. This really exhibits the beauty of the smoky mountains. The rocky rivers, unrelenting waterfalls, and glistening greenery really embodied the allure of The Great Smoky Mountains. Unfortunately at this point we just drove through because we were on our way to Gatlinburg, but we came back. Our first destination in Gatlinburg was the aquarium, because we are both fish lovers! We spent hours here, then went on our way elsewhere. Just walking down the streets of Gatlinburg could have kept us entertained for hours. Of course the kid in the both of us guided us to our next destination, the arcade! This was without a doubt my boyfriend’s favorite part, we spent roughly the rest of the afternoon in here, but we didn 't leave our cabin until about 11. There was this crazy clown game where you knock down clowns by throwing balls, and it was extremely addictive. Surprisingly we weren 't the only older people in there. After this we spent the rest of the afternoon shopping and engaging with the friendly people. Finally we were exhausted, and returned to our cabin. Our last night was
Tennessee is by far my most memorable place. This place is far from my little town “the watta,” and getting there is a long ride. One can take a plane or drive all the way there but whichever you choose when you arrive it’s like going to paradise. The feeling of arriving you get is irreplaceable. Viewing the mountains from far is truly a peaceful place. It is filled with so much nature, it reminds us of how beautiful this world truly is with it.
The biggest memories that come to me are going to church in my hometown. Every Sunday was a special schedule. I got to wear my best clothes of the week, which was usually a dress, long socks, and a bow for my hair. Once my whole family was ready we would walk to church. On our way, my mom would often stop and talk to neighbors. Sometimes I would have to remind her that we were going to church or tell her that we were going to be late. Mass was an hour or so. After mass, my mom and dad would give me money to buy an ice cream or junk food. When I finished my ice cream, we would walk home with neighbors who lived on the same street. Walking home everybody would talk about how beautiful the ceremony was and how well the priest explained the Gospel. I loved the sense I was given by my neighbors. Comforting and belonging is what I felt when I was around them. McClay and McAllister refer to this as “anchor our memories in something more substantial than our thoughts and emotions,” which is my hometown connecting me back to my neighbors at my
My favorite place to visit is Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. There are so many fun and exciting places to visit and beautiful sites to see. Pigeon Forge is famous for the Dollywood Amusement Park. Here a person can ride a fast dropping roller coaster that makes them feel like a soaring eagle or they can brave the rapids on a water raft. If death defying rides are too much to handle, then visit one of the many comedy shows the town has to offer. The comedy shows are full of side splitting jokes, hilarious skits, and small animals dancing around in funny costumes. At these shows musicians are strumming away on the banjo to some good old mountain music while the cloggers keep in time with the fast paced rhythm. After a day of
My trip to St.Louis will always be my favorite.Everything I got to see was magnificent.Breathtaking views, and amazingly nice people to greet with.Everyone was nice in St.Louis, which was surprising. I wish I could go back and relive my trip. The St.Louis arch was so tall i couldn't look up because of the sun.We played a bunch of games outside the arch.MY trip to St. Louis will be
My favorite vacations were when we went to the zoo and down to Gatlinburg, Tennessee. I went to Ripley’s Believe It or Not museum to the Ripley's Aquarium. I love animals and weird people so these vacations were super important to me.
The most memorable event in my life was when we moved out from Russia to a country that changes lives and is known as a dream land called the United States of America. When we sat on the airplane that was going toward the United States in August of 2004, we knew our lives are going to be changed in the way we always wanted them to. After twelve years of not going to school and being discriminated by Russian citizens, this moving to a new country was the most amazing, not just in my life generally, but for my entire family as well.
Driving across the golden gate bridge is a sight to see. Well it is a site o see if you can see through the layers of thick fog and if your car sat up high enough you could see out over the bridge. The air was not freezing, but there was a chill in the breeze that gave me goose bumps. Driving down crooked roads, and eating the sourdough bread instead of the soup inside it are special memories. It was a few days in San Francisco last summer that gave me a love for somewhere other than home.
There's one memory in particular that I remember most. I was 11 years old living in Richmond, Virginia and my baseball travel team the Richmond Rapids were traveling to the Outer Banks in North Carolina for a Labor Day weekend Tournament. The Outer Banks Classic was the the biggest tournament for 12u players in the Atlantic Region. We were the first team from our region to be invited to the tournament. None of us knew what to expect when we got there. But after an 8 hour car drive and tons of car time my expectations were exceeded when I saw where we would be playing.
Everytime my family goes to Gatlinburg we go to a very significant place called Cades Cove. Cades Cove is out in the prairies where the pioneers used to live. Not only is interesting to learn about the pioneers, but also get to physically see how they lived. It is truly amazing to see how they did it and how they accomplished the things they did. Although you are learning a lot of history in Cades Cove, the scenery and wildlife is also astonishing. Cades Cove is filled with nothing but pretty flat fields that lead into huge glorious mountains. Cades Cove also has many wildlife someone might be lucky to see such as: deer, bears, wolves, coyotes, and many more. Therefore if you ever go to Gatlinburg, Cades Cove is a place i would not miss out on.
Another great memory I had was when I went to Myrtle Beach with my mom, grandma, and older brother Vincent. We stayed in a horrible motel it stunk, had bugs, and a small shower but we made the best of it. One day while we was there we were walking on the pier and this disabled man in a wheelchair was fishing and caught a baby shark and he stopped me to show me what he had caught, and he asked me if I did not mind would I throw the shark back in the water and i looked at him like he was crazy and he told me it was okay to pick it the shark up as long and I did not touch near his mouth, so I go
My best moment was when i went to the Florida Keys over Christmas break in 2015. It was a two week trip just on our way to the Keys. On our way we stopped at the Creation Museum down in Kentucky and we stayed at my grandpa’s house in Maranatha Village down in Sebring Florida. When we finally got down to the Keys i couldn’t believe how beautiful it was. The water was that beautiful blue color and there was nothing but colorful coral and crystal blue water everywhere. When we got to where we were staying it was packed. There were more campers than we could count. The campground was on it’s own little island on the highway. My dad used to work there while my grandpa sang for an audience in the outdoor bar by the pool and hot tub. When i went to
Weekend trips to Gatlinburg, TN are a favorite memory of mine. Growing up we went several times a year. The biggest enjoyment for me was standing outside any one of the confectionery stores on the strip and watching the candy makers make stick candy, fudge or pull taffy on one of the big machines.
When we arrived in New York City, a nice man with a black car took us to our hotel.. We checked in our hotel and set off in the beautiful city of New York. When we took our first walk along Times Square, a strong odor of sewage and street food hit our noses. New York will always have that special
As a child, people will always remember certain destinations that stick with them that made a good impression. I have a place that not only made a good impression, it changed me. It made me think off all the things in life people take for granted; places, people, activates. This place brought all though special things in life to one place where I can enjoy them all at the same time. The Oregon coast. Traveling there, as a kid was always special. Waking up early in the morning and driving the long trip there, going through forests, valleys, and cities.
My most memorable childhood event was when I was 15 years old. It was the Fourth of July. A big family vacation a barbeque, over night stay and out of town trip to six flags, and I had a blast the night before me, my mom, sisters and brother packed our bags to stay the night over my cousin house in Goodlettsville ,Tennessee. She had the biggest house ever I thought it was a mansion; six bedrooms two an half bath, a swimming pool, a game/movie room with a nice big kitchen. It was something that I was not use, knowing that we stayed in a three bedroom based on an income apartment on the East side of Nashville.
