Descriptive Essay - My Eyes And Imagine

Traveling is one of my family’s favorite things to do. The family has visited numerous places throughout the United States, however, none are as memorable as Atlanta, Georgia. In Atlanta, there are many places to go and sights to see such as: Cola-cola factory, Cabbage Patch Kids Factory, Under Ground Mall, the Zoo, Atlanta Braves Stadium, Six Flags Over Georgia, Stone Mountain Park, and the Atlanta Aquarium, are all in or near the city of Atlanta. The three that we visit on every trip to Atlanta are Six Flags, Stone Mountain, and the Atlanta Aquarium.

The icy air whistles throughout the town, causing the windows to rattle and the shutters to bang loudly. The town is dark and silent for the sun has yet to rise, but it's a lovely sight with the white snow laying untouched. The houses become works of art, with their beautiful undisturbed snowy roofs. Snug inside a small inn many a pale beauty gazes out over the freshly fallen snow with her unusual purple eyes never leaving the light of the roaring fire from the town-square. Shadows of the flames dance against the freshly fallen snow, and a soul figure tends to the fire. For a second she stands there watching the fire before turning around to face her small bedroom where she glides across the room towards the small narrow wooden door. Pausing with her pale hand hovering just a few inches from the knob, she glances over her shoulder at the frosty snow covered window before giving the knob a slight turn. Slipping into the dark drafty hallway, the pale beauty tugs her white hood up over her snow white hair before stepping onto the creaky spiral wooden staircase. Below she could hear the faint whispers of the innkeeper on how winter has come, but she pays it no mind as she descends the staircase to the room below. The room below is warm just like her small room above, and the warm glow from the fireplace is the only source of light in the room. Slipping into an empty chair, she flagged down the innkeeper with her pale hand, and ordered herself a bit of food.

The world whizzed past me in the comfort of the car, the cold blanket of air unable to reach my pale skin through closed windows and blasting heaters. The radio was quiet, the music providing ambience on top of the rumbling of the car’s engine. The last beat of the current song ended, filling the car with silence. After a few heartbeats, on came the next song, and I turned my head to look at the radio, hand outstretching to turn the dial up. As the strong, pulsing notes of the electric guitar filled my car, a smile came on to my face. It pulled me back, all those years ago, to a night I was ready to party and had hoped it would never end.

Allison Argent was a tall and beautiful person with dark brown curly hair, brown eyes, and deep dimples. She woke up and got ready and left for school like there was no way anything could go wrong, she met up with Scott her first love, he was co-captain of the lacrosse team. He was tall, had a slightly uneven jawline, and cute brown eyes. Stiles was a very sarcastic and funny person. He was tall and skinny, had brown eyes and pale skin. Lydia, Allison’s best friend was a light ginger haired girl with green eyes and the smartest person in school.

Toshaina has the biggest heart, she would hand it away to anyone who inquired. Moreover, she is generous, patient and possesses a magnificent sense of humor. She constantly reminds me of sunflowers, she can brighten up anybody’s day by simply speaking to them. Her power to continue strong in whatever situation is mind blowing. Her biggest motto was too always “be better than me” I would think to myself “how when you’re already so freaking great” but she assured me that she’s not and wasn’t at my years. She invariably delivered on a fresh pair of Jordan’s and polo outfit she felt like you couldn’t wear one without the other. The color she wore the most was yellow, being born a Jamaican she always enjoyed the color since birth.

I remember the night I felt my tears drop into my hands while being in the center of the room. Everything was blurry around me, even my thoughts. The pain I felt hindered my vision and even interfered with my breathing. I desperate tried not to cry, but couldn’t. A foggy figure started to approach me trying to say something but all I could hear was my heartbeat.

I took a long look around at the school hallway as I waited at my locker for my friends to show up. It was cluttered with excitable teenagers who were all ready to get the Friday over with and start their presumably busy weekends. At the risk of looking like I was being nosy by observing my peers, I began shuffling through the very minimal items that the metal, navy blue container held as if I was looking for something that I needed. Thankfully only about ten seconds had gone by before my pointless rummaging was cut off once I heard the sound of my name being called a few feet away down the hallway.

The sun sparkled in like a kaleidoscope of light, spinning, hazy. The grass was warm underneath my bare feet, tickling up between my toes. The breeze tossed my bleach blonde curls around, keeping the temperature at a perfect degree. It had to had been mid-seventies with a slight humidity, the kind of weather that draws a person outside to bask in the sun, to frolic in the breeze, to enjoy the nature in front of them. The sun hid behind a perfectly cloud scattered sky. The plump objects transformed into the creatures of my imagination. The lake reflected the worlds psychedelic colors, mystic and free. Just there, across the lane from my palace, dwelled a magnificent floating spiral island. A place only known to my father, little sister and I. Although I was only four, I understood its secrets. The island was magical, including everything that surrounded it. We lived in a hidden area that only the chosen could find.

I lift myself up and as soon as my feet touch the floor my body gets the chills of a cold hard wood floor. I man up and walk over to my little “office desk” and turn of the alarm, there was only the silence of nature's music. I took a moment to listen to the music and sighed to myself, a content sigh. I look back at the clock and it now says 5:35 AM time to get ready. I walk over to my closet door and put on the outfit from the boutique I’ve officially named the outfit Courtney. I opened the door and made my way over to the hallway bathroom next to my room and curled my wavy hair while looking at myself in the mirror. I have red wavy hair and dark green eyes I also have a few freckles on my nose and cheeks. My face is kind of diamond shaped and my features are pretty decent. Not to sound conceited but I always have though I was pretty, not supermodel pretty but average pretty. Otherwise I try to be humble with everything that I do so I don't give off the wrong expression. Anyways back to getting ready I think to myself, I continue to curl my hair for a few more seconds, as soon as I finish I comb through my hair with a brush and then bam instant “insta-glam hair!” Pleased with my look I walk out and turn off the bathroom light before leaving the bathroom. As I walk past my room down the hallway I notice that I’m the only one up Courtney must still be asleep. I wouldn’t blame her it was a long day yesterday of shopping and searching for clothes. I held her frail body, caressing her to my chest as she nuzzled her head into the crook of my arm. It only took one look into her glistening eyes and I instantly fell in love. She was shockingly beautiful, with glossy dark brown fur, beige streaks, and chocolate-swirl puppy eyes that would melt your heart. I decided to name her Bella, after my favorite Italian cuisine restaurant downtown. I carried her into the car, to bring her to her new home. Bella shivered as the brisk breeze brushed past her coat. My stepfather was waiting for us by the front door, and as I came to the steps carrying her, he gave a weak smile. Out of all 5 family members, he was the only one who wasn’t too fond of getting a dog.

I looked out onto what was left of the landscape before me one last time. I used to call this place home but it no longer resembles the one I used to know. “It’s funny how things can go from bad to worse in such a short amount of time” I thought to myself. What once used to be a beautiful blue sky full of puffy clouds shaped like anything that could be imagined was now grey and lifeless. The clouds are no longer white and puffy but dark and menacing. They are racing towards us with the impending storm. The buildings we are leaving behind are still tall and immaculate compared to the brown wasteland around them. There was no longer green in sight except for the vehicles and billboards.

I gasp for air as the loud cracking of lighting charged towards the ground near the window of my bedside as the rain continues abusing the earth with its might. My ears ring and an excruciating pain danced inside my head as I try suppress the pain. My mind feels as if it’s almost lost its sanity but I soon began questioning my sudden burst of terror. Was it lighting that frightens me or was it something I endured subconsciously?
