I am fortunate enough to live on the beautiful island of Nantucket. Growing up here in such a close knit community, has put me aside from your average high schooler in the best way possible. Nantucket is full of incredible wildlife and conservation land that is so unique it looks untouched. Wintertime, when all the summer people leave, you know everybody on the island. It's literally impossible to drive through town without seeing a familiar face. But by the time summer comes the island explodes with electricity that's unlike anywhere else. Massive yachts pack our tiny harbor and enormous private jets fill the airport on the weekends. Having such a drastic change is something that makes Nantucket so unique. Personally, I don't have a favorite season, Nantucket is perfect year round and that's why I feel so blessed to call it home. When the days are shorter and the water is colder the tourists are driven away, leaving a small community, one of the greatest communities on the planet. So close that when someone dies it can affect the whole island. The best feature Nantucket has to offer is how the locals come together and help others in need. When something happens, news travels fast and everyone knows. Having a small community also makes our sports teams closer, we have no choice but to play together. We spend a lot more time together than other teams, every away game we have to take a boat then a school bus to the game. Doing that gets us more comfortable with each other
I will never forget the first time I stepped foot into the Boundary Waters. It was February of 2016, a brutally cold weekend but one I will hold with me forever. My family and I took a day trip away from Camp Menogyn to go visit Rose Falls, one of the only waterfalls in Minnesota located in the Boundary Waters. When my mom told me we would be within park limits, I was ecstatic. Growing up, I heard stories from my parents and sister about the adventures they’d encountered in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area. I felt so excited for my first experience.
With soaring temperatures, pool parties during the day and the hottest clubs in the country to heat up these hot nights, there’s no place like Las Vegas in the summer. However, having an equal opportunity appreciation for more traditional summertime fare, Sin City Press hit the road for a few days to visit a different, yet equally popular summer destination, scenic and historic New England. During the summer of 2015, we visited three unique travel destinations, and here’s what we found: Located approximately 35 miles from the state capital of Providence, historic and picturesque Newport Rhode Island has played host to many filming locations for both movies and television, and has been the subject of just as many features in print (notably, Theophilus North). Thanks to Ms. Andrea Carneiro, Director of Communications for the Newport Preservation Society, we were able to visit one of the city’s most notable attractions, the Newport Mansions.
The government of the Massachusetts Bay Colony was simultaneously theocratic, democratic, oligarchic, and authoritarian in different ways. The Puritans founded the Massachusetts Bay Colony in 1628 and wanted a well-established government, but they ended up mixing all of these together. This colony was important because it was one of the first provincial and true governments to be introduced into the colonies. It also provided an example to other colonies to base their governments on.
On the morning of June 17, 2016, I woke up with a smile on my face like it was Christmas morning. I launched myself out of bed to take a quick shower before I was to meet my friends to leave for Daytona Florida. We planned this trip months ahead of time when we found out there was a truck meet on the weekend of June 18th and 19th. The truck meet we went to was where anyone who owned a pickup truck could come down to Daytona Florida and drive on the beach to get to mingle and entertain one another for the weekend. We met at a local gas station in Morgantown Kentucky at eight that morning. There was eleven of us total going on the trip, my father, Robbie Henderson, my friend Seth Gaskey and his father, Jimmy Gaskey, my

Ocean CIty is a beautiful vacation place, not just for the summer. Many people go there to relax, make memories and have a good time. It is a fun-filled, family-friendly vacation place that everyone will enjoy and it is worth the drive.
History-Section One Massachusetts has a very interesting history. Massachusetts was made a state on February 6,1788 and was the sixth state and it was one of the 13 colonies. Massachusett was originally the Province of Massachusetts Bay. It was named after an Algonquian tribe the Massachusett.
For centuries, the citizens of many European nations were under the firm ruling of a monarch, where any kind of individualism was nearly impossible to acquire. Looking for an escape from the corrupt tyrannies, seeking religious freedom and economic gains, immigrants from different nations fled to the New World to seize the upcoming opportunities of a new life. Once a profuse amount of settlers had arrived and with adequate time, leaders within various colonies created several documents and early attempts of autonomous government, such as the Virginia House of Burgesses (1619), the Mayflower Compact (1620), and the Fundamental Orders of Connecticut (1639). Also, two large events; the Enlightenment, a philosophical movement, and the ruling of
The history of the American government took a wide turn until the 50 states finally established. As before the United States was formed from a series of small colonies, also known as provinces. Massachusetts Bay, in particular, was one of these various settlements. Massachusetts Bay, present day Massachusetts was established in the year of 1630, its settlers composed of the Puritans from New England. Puritans, are the ones who wanted to “Purify” the Church of England from the beliefs of the Roman Catholics, these people were protestants. Massachusetts bay was empowered by Governor John Winthrop also as the head of the court.
The mystery of Roanoke Island has yet to be solved. How can a group of settlers
“Ahh. I took a deep breath of sweet air that smelled of fudge, which was accented by manure from one of the most popular things about Mackinac Island- horses! It was awesome to be back here after a year. Every year, it is hard to leave Mackinac. Every year, leaving is like breaking a chain that keeps you tied to the island. Every year, I miss the horses and the fudge, the amazing views and skipping rocks in the water. All of these finer qualities of Mackinac Island and more, makes me not want to leave. Once back home last year, the hours in a day seemed to drag along, but I’d look back at the end of the week and think: wow, it’s been a week already?
When I close my eyes and imagine, I can still clearly hear the gentle splash of the waves lapping the shoreline, and feel the slight ocean breeze whizz through my hair, sending it flying in every direction. During the frigid and dreary months of Missouri’s winter, there is one place in particular that my heart longs to be. Marco Island, Florida. When most people think of a luxurious vacation, they imagine crystal clear water, snowy white sands, and a miraculous five star hotel. Marco Island is no Bora Bora, but to me it’s the most enchanting small town that values simplicity and offers pure bliss to anyone coming to visit.
Present time, Nantucket's populous sometimes has no choice but to move off the island because of the shortage of homes. Most houses on Nantucket have the median price of $1.2 Million, so buying a house isn't an option, rather a tiny house would only cost a fraction of that price. There are a vast quantity of sites, and magazines like Forbes that have articles which get you started on your very own
My favorite season of the year is summer because of the warm weather, the school vacation, and the endless fun. I really enjoy the warm weather because it’s the perfect atmosphere to do outdoor activities. My favorite part about summer has to be the fact that school is closed for two months. During summer, you’re free to do whatever you want, not worrying about curfew or waking up early for school. Summer time is a great time to relax with friends and family by soaking up the sun at a beach or simply having dinner together.
The warm breeze of the ocean air flies past my face. The heat of the yellow sun was sizzling, beating down against my skin, tanning and burning it within seconds. Beach goers were crowded around in all directions. Seagulls gliding past the groups of people, scouting for dropped or forgotten food to eat. Their little footprints marking a trail in the sand all over the place, going in a million different directions, searching for their next meal. I take in the exquisiteness of it all, the blue-green waves crashing into the sandy shore, making white foam and bubbles wash into the sea, little boys and girls that are digging in the bright white sand running away from the small waves before they get wet. The beach is a stunning place to be; there's just something about the ocean waves and the sand between my toes that makes me just want to stay there forever.
